If T is an unbounded hyponormal operator on an infinite dimensional complex Hilbert space H with ${\rho}(T){\neq}{\phi}$, then it is shown that T satisfies Weyl's theorem, generalized Weyl's theorem, Browder's theorem and generalized Browder's theorem. The equivalence of generalized Weyl's theorem with generalized Browder's theorem, property (gw) with property (gb) and property (w) with property (b) have also been established. It is also shown that a-Browder's theorem holds for T as well as its adjoint $T^*$.
Let $S(z_1,z_2),\;S_1(z_1,z_2)$ and $S_2(z_1,z_2)$ be power series with operator coefficients such that $S_(z_1,\;z_2)=S_1(z_1,z_2)S_2(z_1,z_2)$. Assume that the multiplications by $S_1(z_1,z_2)$ and $S_2(z_1,z_2)$ are contractive transformations in H($\mathbb{D}^2,\;\mathcal{C}$). Then the factorizations of spaces $\mathcal{D}(\mathbb{D},\;\tilde{S})$ and $\mathcal{D}(\mathbb{D}^2,\mathcal{S})$ are well-behaved.
Based on the A-maximal(m)-relaxed monotonicity frameworks, the approximation solvability of a general class of variational inclusion problems using the relaxed proximal point algorithm is explored, while generalizing most of the investigations, especially of Xu (2002) on strong convergence of modified version of the relaxed proximal point algorithm, Eckstein and Bertsekas (1992) on weak convergence using the relaxed proximal point algorithm to the context of the Douglas-Rachford splitting method, and Rockafellar (1976) on weak as well as strong convergence results on proximal point algorithms in real Hilbert space settings. Furthermore, the main result has been applied to the context of the H-maximal monotonicity frameworks for solving a general class of variational inclusion problems. It seems the obtained results can be used to generalize the Yosida approximation that, in turn, can be applied to first- order evolution inclusions, and can also be applied to Douglas-Rachford splitting methods for finding the zero of the sum of two A-maximal (m)-relaxed monotone mappings.

In this paper, we propose anew approach to the development of the automatic vision system to examine and repair the steam generator tubes at remote distance. In nuclear power plants, workers are reluctant of works in steam generator because of the high radiation environment and limited working space. It is strongly recommended that the examination and maintenance works be done by an automatic system for the protection of the operator from the radiation exposure. Digital signal processors are used in implementing real time recognition and examination of steam generator tubes in the proposed vision system. Performance of proposed digital vision system is illustrated by simulation and experiment for similar steam generator model.
We describe the implementation of a multi-dimensional numerical code to solve the equations for idea! magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) in cylindrical geometry. It is based on an explicit finite difference scheme on an Eulerian grid, called the Total Variation Diminishing (TVD) scheme, which is a second-order-accurate extension of the Roe-type upwind scheme. Multiple spatial dimensions are treated through a Strang-type operator splitting. Curvature and source terms are included in a way to insure the formal accuracy of the code to be second order. The constraint of a divergence-free magnetic field is enforced exactly by adding a correction, which involves solving a Poisson equation. The Fourier Analysis and Cyclic Reduction (FACR) method is employed to solve it. Results from a set of tests show that the code handles flows in cylindrical geometry successfully and resolves strong shocks within two to four computational cells. The advantages and limitations of the code are discussed.

Recognition of three-dimensional objects with convexities and concavities is a hard and challenging problem. This paper presents a feature extraction method out of three-dimensional objects for the purpose of classification. This new method not only provides invariance to scale, translation, and rotation $R^3$ but also distinguishes any three-dimensional model objects with concavities and convexities by measuring a relative similarity in the information space where a set of characteristics features of objects is mapped.

As modern power systems become large and complicated, the automated voltage and reactive power control system is required in most developed countries due to the recent amazing progress of computer net works and information thechnology. So far the voltage control has been depend on human operator in korean power system. This paper presents an intelligent voltage control system based on sensitivity analysis and artificial intelligence technology. Detailed state space modeling technique is discussed and a new performance index is proposed to speed up the searching performance of the expert system. As the searching strategy is very important factor of the speed of expert system the least first search algorithm is applied using this performance index. The intelligent voltage control system is applied to the Jeju power system. As a result, case studies showed a promissing application of the intelligent voltage control system.
Plant monitoring algorithm developments seem to be saturated which means that display system to show the results from the algorithm should be the well-defined and interactive tools for operator's diagnosing, controlling, restoring the abnormal plant situations. On the other hand, very little generalized display design concepts and evaluations are available. Events that are unfamiliar to operators and that has not been anticipated by designers may cause great threats to the nuclear power plant system safety operation. The abstraction hierarchy, considered most popular display design methodology but not generalized for nuclear power plant design space, has ken proposed as a representation frame work that can be adopted to design interfaces and supports operators in diagnosing overlooked events that should have been considered to operate plant safely. However most practical plant display systems do not fully stick to this design concept but partially rely on their philosophy from design experiences. Abstraction hierarchy display design concept will be do scribed and the trend of Advanced Control Room(ACR) CRT design will also be presented with the conventional display for the several type of plants. Consequently this complementary material should be of interest to designer and regulators concerned with nuclear power plant.
Let T be a bounded linear operator on a Banach space X. And let ${{\rho}T}(X)$ be the local resolvent set of T at $x\;{\in}\;X$. Then we prove that a complex number ${\lambda}$ belongs to ${{\rho}T}(X)$ if and only if there is a sequence $\{x_{n}\}$ in X such that $x_n\;=\;(T - {\lambda})x_{n+1}$ for n = 0, 1, 2,..., $x_0$ = x and $\{{\parallel}x_n{\parallel}^{\frac{1}{n}}\}$ is bounded.
Let E be a real q-uniformly smooth Banach space which admits a weakly sequentially continuous duality map, and K a nonempty closed convex subset of E. Let T : K -> K be a mapping such that $F(T)\;=\;{x\;{\in}\;K\;:\;Tx\;=\;x}\;{\neq}\;0$ and (I - T) satisfies the accretive-type condition: $\;{\geq}\;{\lambda}$\mid$$\mid$x-Tx$\mid$$\mid$^2$, for all $x\;{\in}\;K,\;x^*\;{\in}\;F(T)$ and for some ${\lambda}\;>\;0$. The weak and strong convergence of the Ishikawa iteration method to a fixed point of T are investigated. An application of our results to the approximation of a solution of a certain linear operator equation is also given. Our results extend several important known results from the Mann iteration method to the Ishikawa iteration method. In particular, our results resolve in the affirmative an open problem posed by Naimpally and Singh (J. Math. Anal. Appl. 96 (1983), 437-446).
