For maximum seeding efficiency of a nozzle type seeder, the performance of the nozzle should be considered sufficiently. This study was carried out to investigate the optimum operating conditions of a seeder attached the vacuum nozzle which was modified syringe needle acting on the plug seedling tray and the seed plate. Such operating factors as the hole diameter of the nozzle (d), the distance from the nozzle tip to the bottom plate of seed hopper(D) the absorbing air pressure of the nozzle tip(P) the bounding height of seed from the vibrated bottom plate of seed hopper and the seeding speed were selected based on the weight of a grain of seed(W). The treated materials were pepper seed as the flat type, cucumber seed as the oval type and radish seed as the spherical type. The optimum operating conditions of the experimental seeder were revealed as follows: 1. The height of the seed bounding from the bottom plate of seed hopper and the distance from nozzle tip to bounded seed were 5 mm and 0.5 mm at all seeds. The hole diameter of the nozzle and the absorbing pressure for pepper seed, cucumber seed and radish seed was 0.45 mm, 0.65 mm. 0.65mm and 39.2 kPa, 88.3 kPa, 58.8 kPa, respectively. 2. The absorbing pressure P was represented as P=η.4W/$\pi$d$^2$ where η was 100. The seeding speed using a 128 cell tray was 2.4 cm/s which was same transfer as 2.5 trays per minute. 3. The maximum seeding rate in case of the pepper seed was 97% the cucumber seed was 95% and the radish seed was 100% under the optimum operating conditions of the seeder.

Marine casualties originated from fishing vessel occupied about 70% of the whole marine casualties in Korea from 2001 to 2010, this ratio was not much changed as it was before. Therefore a pragmatic counterplan to decrease of casualties in fishing vessel is indispensable for reduction of the nationwide marine casualties. But since the casualties occurred by fishing vessel may have a different causes and counterplan according to the operating type of it, in this paper, fishing vessels classified into 12 types by operating method and inspected the causes and counterplan for that. The operating type of fishing vessel occurred the specific casualties more were jig boat in collisions and fire explosion, trap fishing boat, mixed fishing boats and inshore gill netter in collisions, stow netter in machinery damages and capsizing, offshore gill netter in machinery damages, fish carrier in collisions. It must be emphasized that the higher ranked types of vessels, especially jig boat have to take special care to the approaching vessels under way, trap fishing boat to rear look out and mixed fishing boat must keep on safety speed and be taken an education for advance the skill of operating radar as well. For all 12 types of fishing vessel, it is necessary for an operator to make strict precaution on the other vessel under way systematically and keep the regulation for preventing collisions, and for an engineer on watch to make a check the electricity and the engines periodically for reduction the fire explosion and machinery damages.

As a promising candidate to replace the conventional floating gate flash memories, polysilicon-oxide-nitride-oxidesilicon (SONOS)-type nonvolatile semiconductor memories have been investigated widely in the past several years. SONOS-type memories have some advantages over the conventional floating gate flash memories, such as lower operating voltage, excellent endurance and compatibility with standard complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology. However, their operating speed and date retention characteristics are still the bottlenecks to limit the applications of SONOS-type memories. Recently, various approaches have been used to make a trade-off between the operating speed and the date retention characteristics. Application of high-k dielectrics to SONOS-type memories is a predominant route. This article provides the state-of-the-art research progress of high-k dielectrics applicable to SONOS-type nonvolatile semiconductor memories. It begins with a short description of working mechanism of SONOS-type memories, and then deals with the materials' requirements of high-k dielectrics used for SONOS-type memories. In the following section, the microstructures of high-k dielectrics used as tunneling layers, charge trapping layers and blocking layers in SONOS-type memories, and their impacts on the memory behaviors are critically reviewed. The improvement of the memory characteristics by using multilayered structures, including multilayered tunneling layer or multilayered charge trapping layer are also discussed. Finally, this review is concluded with our perspectives towards the future researches on the high-k dielectrics applicable to SONOS-type nonvolatile semiconductor memories.
Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the appropriate operating conditions through a factorial experiment for the secondary separating part of the self-propelled pepper harvester. Methods: An experimental setup that simulates the secondary separating part of the self-propelled pepper harvester was organized. Test samples were classified into three types according to the number of peppers on a stem, and 12 sets were prepared for each type. Among the operating conditions of the secondary separating part, the rotational speed of drum B (four levels), radial clearance between drums and cylindrical teeth (three levels), and speed ratio between the three drums (two levels) were set as the test factors, and tests were repeated three times for different levels of each factor. The appropriate operating conditions were determined by analyzing the separation ratio and damage ratio of the peppers collected through the secondary separating part. Results: The test factors changed the overall separation ratio and overall damage ratio in similar trends. In other words, the conditions that caused high overall separation ratios also exhibited high overall damage ratios. Owing to the high overall damage ratio in the condition with the highest overall separation ratio, the operating conditions should be selected considering both ratios. Conclusions: When the condition with more than 60% of overall separation ratio and less than 15% of overall damage ratio was considered as the appropriate operating condition, 70 rpm of the rotational speed of drum B, 5 mm of the radial clearance between drums and cylindrical teeth, and 7:3:5 for the speed ratio of the three drums A, B, and C should be applied for the secondary separating part used in this study. Supplementary studies will be required in the future to find optimal operating conditions through the actual field test under further divided test factors.
Optical wireless power transmission (OWPT) is a good candidate for long-distance underwater wireless power transmission. In this work we investigate the transmission efficiency of underwater OWPT, depending on the operating wavelength. We consider four operating wavelengths: infrared, red, green, and blue. We also consider the cases of pure water and sea water for the working conditions. Our results show that it is necessary to select the operating wavelength of underwater OWPT according to the transmission distance and water type of the target application.

The studies on the operating performance analysis or design about the fixed tilt angle flat-plate photovoltaic (PV) system are still lively going off. However the operating property analysis about the arch type PV system which means PV array were designed as round type is dissatisfied. In this paper, we theoretically established the factors which are cause of the deterioration in performance of arch type PV system. In addition, we use the Solar Pro simulation tools to design both flat-plate type and arch type 30kW PV systems. The simulations about arch type PV system applied two ways such as central inverter and string inverter were conducted. The performance ratio (PR) of the PV system with flat-plate type shows the highest value 74[%] when the tilt angle is 30°. In case of arch type, when applying central inverter method, PR value shows approximately 73[%] and no more difference with arch type of the PV array. This value shows 1[%] decrease compare with the flat-plate type. However when applying string inverter methods, the average PR value shows 80 % and 6% improved than the central inverter method.
The various sensor nodes operating in Ubiquitous Sensor Network environment require the tiny Operating System different from the existing pc-type operating system because of their characteristics. Also Sensor Network operating system needs to support the rapid event handling which sensor node must implement. In this paper, we overcome the drawbacks of the existing sensor network operating system and propose the new kernel which is designed to assist developer to construct event-central operating system entirely. We also evaluate the performance of the super tiny sensor network operating system based on proposed kernel, comparing with that of the existing sensor network operating system.
The purpose of this study is to develop the Generalized Depreciation Function (GDF) and Winfrey Depreciation Function (WDF) by reviewing methods for the depreciation accountings. The Depreciation Accounting Models (DAM), including straight-line model, declining-balance model, sum-of-the-year-digit model and sinking fund model presented in this paper, are reclassified into the charging pattern of increasing type, decreasing type and constant type. This paper also discusses the development of the GDFs based on convex type, concave type and constant type according to the demand pattern of product, frequency of plant usage, deterioration of time, relative inadequacy, Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Operating Expenditure (OPEX) of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). The WDFs presented in this paper depict a sudden degradation of plant performance by measuring the change of TPM activity at the midpoint of useful life of asset. The WDFs are classified into left-modal type, symmetrical type and right-modal type by varying the value of skewness and kurtosis. Moreover, three increasing patterns, such as convex, concave and linear types, are used in this paper to present the distinct identification of WFDs by using Instantaneous Depreciation Rate (IDR) in terms of Performance Depreciation Function (PDF) and Depreciation Density Function (DDF). In order to have better understanding of depreciation models, the numerical examples are used for evaluating the Net Operating Less Adjusted Tax (NOPLAT) and Economic Value Added (EVA). It is concluded that the depreciation models showing a large dispersion of EVA require the adjustment of NOPLAT and Invested Capital (IC) based on the objective cash basis and net operating activity for reducing the variation of EVA.

This study presents the strategic directions for Korean multi-brand fashion stores by running in-depth industry research and market analysis. Over 20 professionals were selected from Korean multi-brand fashion stores for this study and in-depth interviews were conducted to evaluate related subjects. The results of the study were as follows. First, Korean multi-brand fashion stores could be classified into three criteria: operating ownership, merchandise mix, and store identity. Second, operating ownership criterion was chosen for further investigations of strategies and directions of the multi-brand fashion stores. The operating ownership criterion consists of three types; department store types, specialty store types, and boutique types. Each type deploys different buying practice, organizational strategies, and distribution channels. Lastly, the suggested strategic directions for each type are summarized as follows. The 'department store type' should utilize its strong direct buying capabilities and acquisition of merchandising can be more effectively managed. The store should utilize its strong buying power as a tool to develop new private brands (PBs). For 'specialty store type', two key factors have been derived: market share expansion and positioning themselves to become a new distribution channel. To respond to these factors, the store needs to be perceived as a brand then diversify its business. Strengthening its brand will allow it to expand into a new distribution channel and also enable a strategic partnership with its competitor brands. The factors influencing 'boutique type' is personalization and uniqueness. With an emphasis on the uniqueness of products and merchandising it will be able to implement the role as a personal shopper and stylist to provide a very personalized service to its customers.
