설치류에서 Ginsenoside Rgl의 항스트레스 활성 (Anti-stress Activities of Ginsenoside Rgl in Rodents)

  • Ginsenoside Rgl (Rgl), the pharmacologically active constituent of ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer), has a variety of biological activities. The present study was undertaken to evaluate a possibility of Rgl whether it can be used in treatment or prevention of stress disorders. Animals were stressed by immobilization for 2 hours or electroshocks for 20 minutes. The normal group was not exposed to any stress. Rgl was subcutaneously injected as dosages of 5 and 10 mg/kg and red ginseng (RG) was orally administered 200 mg/kg as the positive control. Animals were given supplements for 5 days without stress, and then were given supplements for 5 days with stress. We recorded stress-related behavioral changes of experimental animals using the Etho-vision system. Weight of adrenal gland and levels of corticosterone in plasma were measured and stress related behaviors (smelling, grooming, face washing, rearing) were observed. Rgl didn't make significant behavioral changes in total open field and elevated plus maze test. Rgl did not influence on behavioral changes induced by electroshock stress. Whereas, 10 mg/kg of Rgl alleviated the increment of the freezing and face washing time and the decrement of the smelling and rearing time induced by restraint stress. The administration of Rgl 10 mg/kg has significantly increased the endurance time on rotating rod and swimming pool tests compared to the control group. These results indicate that Rgl can alleviate the damage induced by physical stress. This result suggests that Rgl may bea new candidate for treating stress related disorder.

휴대용 UHF대역 RFID 시스템을 위한 선형 테이퍼드 슬롯 정류 안테나 (Linear Tapered Slot Rectifying Antenna for Portable UHF-Band RFID System)

  • 본 논문에서는 휴대용 UHF대역 RFID 시스템을 위한 선형 테이퍼드 슬롯 정류 안테나를 제안하였다. 제안한 정류 안테나는 별도의 유전체 기판을 사용하지 않기 때문에, 얇은 금속 두께로 평판형 안테나를 구현하였다. 정류 안테나는 입력 RF전력을 출력 DC전압으로 전환하는 정류회로는 2개의 쇼트기 다이오드를 이용한 배전압회로를 이용하였으며, 선형 테이퍼드 슬롯 안테나에 집적하여 정류 안테나를 설계하였다. 배전압 정류회로와 선형 테이퍼드 슬롯 안테나의 임피던스 공액정합을 위하여, 테이퍼드 슬롯의 각도와 안테나 급전선의 길이의 조절을 통해 source-pull 방법을 이용하였다. 제안한 안테나 시제품은 자유공간 무선환경실험 환경에서 RF-DC전환 실험과 원거리장 안테나 방사패턴 측정실험을 통해 회로 및 방사 특성을 검증하였다. 최종 제안한 안테나는 중심주파수 915 MHz 기준으로 0.23-파장(75 mm)와 0.18-파장(60 mm) 크기로 소형화하였다.

유연도 행렬을 이용한 전단빌딩의 유전자 알고리즘 기반 손상추정 (Damage Detection in Shear Building Based on Genetic Algorithm Using Flexibility Matrix)

  • 전단빌딩에 발생한 손상 추정에 있어서 대상 구조물의 물성치를 가정하고 이상화한 모델을 이용한 역해석이 필요하다. 강성행렬을 이용하는 고전적인 손상추정 방법에 비해 유연도 행렬을 이용한 손상추정은 구조물의 저차모드를 이용하기 때문에 비교적 정확한 값을 계산할 수 있기 때문에 더 효과적으로 알려져 있다. 이 논문에서는 손상추정을 위한 알고리즘으로 유전자 알고리즘(Genetic Algorithm, GA)을 도입하였고, 구조 응답에서 취득할 수 있는 유연도 행렬을 이용하여 역해석을 통한 손상추정 기법을 소개하고 있다. 제안된 손상추정 기법은 전단빌딩의 강성에 대한 정확한 정보가 없는 상황에서 전단빌딩의 손상으로 인한 실제 강성변화량을 추정하도록 하였다. 더불어 open source code인 OPENSEES를 이용하여 전단빌딩 수치해석을 통해 제안된 손상추정 기법의 효율성을 검증하였다.

3D 프린팅을 사용해 제작한 새로운 손 보조기 적용 사례연구 (A case study on the application of new hand splint using 3D printing)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 손을 기능적 자세로 만들어주는 새로운 디자인의 보조기를 환자에게 적용하여 손기능에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 알아보고자 하는 것이었다. 새로운 보조기는 엄지와 검지의 샅공간(web space)을 넓히는 새로운 디자인이다. 보조기 착용 후 환자는 엄지 벌림의 자세를 유지할 수 있었고 작은 물건 잡기가 가능하게 되었다. 환자는 손 기능에서 향상을 보였고 Box and Block 검사의 수행이 가능해져 1분에 8개의 블록을 옮길 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 물건에 손바닥의 접촉이 요구는 잡기는 이전보다 더 어려웠고 일상에서 착용시 물이 닿으면 고정되지 못한다는 단점 또한 있었다. 본 연구는 3D 프린팅을 이용한 첫 보조기 적용 연구라는 점에서 의미가 있으며 앞으로 작업치료분야에서 3D 프린팅을 통해 다양한 환자 맞춤형 보조기가 개발될 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

간정격과 사관혈 침 치료의 우울 행동 개선 효과 및 뇌신경 반응성 분석 연구 (Antidepressant Effect of Liver Tonification and Four Gate Acupuncture Treatments and Its Brain Neural Activity)

  • Objectives : We aimed to identify the antidepressant effect of liver tonification acupuncture treatment (ACU (LT); KI10, LR8, LU8, LR4) and four gate acupuncture treatment (ACU (FG); LI4, LR3) and its brain neural activity in the normal and chronic restraint stress (CRS)-induced mouse model. Methods : Firstly, normal mice were given ACU (LT) or ACU (FG) and the c-Fos expressions in each brain region were analyzed to examine brain neural activity. Secondly, CRS was administered to mice for 4 weeks, then ACU (LT) or ACU (FG) was performed for 2 weeks. The depression-like behavior was evaluated using open field test (OFT) before and after acupuncture treatment. Then, the c-Fos expressions in each brain region were analyzed to examine brain neural activity. Results : In normal mice, ACU (FG) regulated brain neural activities in the hypothalamus, hippocampus, and periaqueductal gray. ACU (LT) changed more brain regions in the prefrontal cortex, insular cortex, striatum, and hippocampus, including those altered by ACU (FG). In CRS-induced model, ACU (LT) alleviated depression-like behavior more than ACU (FG). Also, brain neural activities in the motor cortex area 2 (M2), agranular ventral part and piriform of insular cortex (AIV and Pir), and cornu ammonis (CA) 1 and CA3 of hippocampus were changed by ACU (LT), and those of AIV and CA3 were also changed by ACU (FG). As in normal mice, ACU (LT) resulted in changes in more brain regions, including those altered by ACU (FG) in CRS model. M2, Pir, and CA1 were only changed by ACU (LT) in depression model, suggesting that these brain regions reflect the specific effect of ACU (LT). Conclusions : ACU (LT) relieved depression-like behavior more than ACU (FG), and this acupuncture effect was associated with modulation of brain neural activities in the motor cortex, insular cortex, and hippocampus.

Preliminary study on application of augmented reality visualization in robotic thyroid surgery

  • Purpose: Increased robotic surgery is attended by increased reports of complications, largely due to limited operative view and lack of tactile sense. These kinds of obstacles, which seldom occur in open surgery, are challenging for beginner surgeons. To enhance robotic surgery safety, we created an augmented reality (AR) model of the organs around the thyroid glands, and tested the AR model applicability in robotic thyroidectomy. Methods: We created AR images of the thyroid gland, common carotid arteries, trachea, and esophagus using preoperative CT images of a thyroid carcinoma patient. For a preliminary test, we overlaid the AR images on a 3-dimensional printed model at five different angles and evaluated its accuracy using Dice similarity coefficient. We then overlaid the AR images on the real-time operative images during robotic thyroidectomy. Results: The Dice similarity coefficients ranged from 0.984 to 0.9908, and the mean of the five different angles was 0.987. During the entire process of robotic thyroidectomy, the AR images were successfully overlaid on the real-time operative images using manual registration. Conclusion: We successfully demonstrated the use of AR on the operative field during robotic thyroidectomy. Although there are currently limitations, the use of AR in robotic surgery will become more practical as the technology advances and may contribute to the enhancement of surgical safety.

침술 치료가 모성분리 새끼 쥐의 우울증과 해마의 치상회 세포증식에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Acupuncture on Depression and Cell Proliferation in Hippocampal Gyrus Dentatus of Maternal-separated Rat Pups)

  • Objectives The loss of maternal care during early postnatal period may increase development of mood-related disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. In this study, the effect of acupuncture on depression in relation with cell proliferation in the hippocampal gyrus dentatus was investigated using maternal-separated rat pups. Methods On the postnatal 14th day, rat pups from six dams were grouped into following groups: maternal care group, maternal separation group, maternal separation and non-acupoint-acupunctured group, maternal separation and Zusanli-acupunctured group, and maternal separation and fluoxetine-treated group. Acupuncture was performed from postnatal 28th day to postnatal 37th day. The rat pups that belong in the maternal separation and fluoxetine-treated group were injected subcutaneously with 5 mg/kg fluoxetine hydrochloride once a day for the same period of time. To evaluate activity of the rat pups, open field test was performed. Immunohistochemistry for serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) and tryptophan hydroxylase (TPH) in the dorsal raphe and for 5-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) in the hippocampal gyrus dentatus was conducted. Results The present results reveal that the activity was decreased by maternal separation. In contrast, acupuncture at Zusanli overcame maternal separation-induced hypoactivity. Maternal separation suppressed TPH expression and 5-HT synthesis in the dorsal raphe and decreased cell proliferation in the hippocampal gyrus dentatus of rat pups. In contrast, acupuncture at Zusanli alleviated maternal separation-induced decrease of 5-HT synthesisand TPH expression. Conclusions The present results demonstrate that acupuncture at Zusanli ameliorated depressive state through increasing cell proliferation and enhancing 5-HT synthesis.

Codec 2를 이용한 900MHz ISM대역에서의 음성 통신 성능 검토 (Voice Communication Performance in 900MHz ISM Band Using Codec2)

  • 본 논문에서는 오픈소스 프로젝트를 표방하는 디지털 아마추어 무선용 저속 음성 코덱인 Codec 2와 900MHz FSK 트랜시버를 이용하여 PTT(Push to talk) 양방향 무전기를 구현하고, 장거리 음성통신이 가능한지 여부를 실험했다. 일반 디지털 무전기의 경우, 성능 면에서 업계 표준으로 인정되고 있는 AMBE+2 코덱을 사용하는데, 가격이 고가이며 기술의 독점성을 가지고 있다. 주파수 측면에서 보면 400MHz 대역을 사용하는 경우, DMR 12.5kHz, DPMR 6.25kHz의 협대역을 사용하기 때문에 데이터 전송률이 낮다. 900MHz 대역은 대역폭을 확장할 수 있어서 데이터 전송 측면에서도 장점이 있다. 음질 및 통달 거리에 대한 필드 테스트를 진행한 결과, 약 500m 내에서 통신이 이루어지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 논문에서는 음성통신에 대한 검토가 이루어졌지만, 간단한 이미지와 같은 데이터 전송에 대한 검토가 추가된다면, 이 솔루션이 저가형 IOT 생활 무전기로서 다양한 분야에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

종합병원 진단검사의학과 검사실의 시설 현황 조사 - 300 병상 미만 병원을 중심으로 (A Study on the Facility and Equipment of Laboratory Medicine in General Hospital - Focused on less than three hundred bed hospitals)

  • Purpose: As the medical laboratories in general hospitals have made an efforts on quality management and employee health, they recognized the need of design guideline for clinical laboratory. As laboratories are prohibited to patients, their environments are becoming more congested and deteriorated as time goes by. So, this study investigates the current status of facility and equipment of laboratory medicine focusing on less than three hundred patient bed hospitals, and searches the improving matters. Methods: Questionnaires to technologist captains and field surveys to medical laboratories in korean hospitals have been conducted for the data collection. 18 answers have been analysed statistically by MS Excel program. Results: The result of this study can be summarized into followings. Clinical laboratory functions are all hematology, clinical chemistry, immunology, transfusion and urine microscopy, and except for three including microbiology for infection and bio safety level. Average man power of lab are 12.3 man including lab director and captain. Patient bed number, space area and total specimen numbers are not correlated with each other, but specimen numbers and employee number are correlated with. Work space distances are usually good, but exit distances are not adequate for escape owing to obstacles. Specimen delivery system by courier, test method by automatic analyzer, access floor for exposed plumbing and electricities are more practical. Open lab layed out in the center and lab support layed peripheral in space diagram. Lab space configuration by SD method showed that lab support area and employee support area are dissatisfied. Implications: Specialized hospital and yearly total specimen numbers are related to the space area and organization for laboratory planning and design.

동물모델에서 시호가용골모려탕(柴胡加龍骨牡蠣湯)의 수면유도 및 항불안 효과 (Sleep-promoting and Anti-anxiety Effects of Shihogayonggolmoryo-tang in Mice)

  • Shihogayonggolmoryo-tang (ST) is a Korean medical herb cocktail which has been used to treat anxiety induced insomnia. In this study, we will examine sleep-promoting and anti-anxiety effects of ST, and investigate its mechanism. ICR mice were divided into three groups for the first examination : control group (n=11), ST50 group (50 mg/kg, po, n=11), ST200 group (200 mg/kg, po, n=11). Sleep-promoting effect was confirmed by measuring the sleeping duration time and sleeping onset time after thiopental sodium treatment (50 mg/kg, ip). ICR mice were divided into five groups for the second examination : control group (n=11), ST200 group (200 mg/kg, po, n=11), ST200+Flumazenil group (ST 200 mg/kg, po, flumazenil 0.3 mg/kg, ip, n=11), diazepam group (1 mg/kg, ip, n=11), diazepam+flumazenil group (diazepam 1 mg/kg, ip, Flumazenil 0.3 mg/kg, ip, n=11). Anxiety behavior and sleep-promoting effect was confirmed by open field test and measuring the sleeping duration time and sleeping onset time. Expression levels of c-fos in tuberomammillary nucleus (TMN) and ventrolateral preoptic nucleus (VLPO) were analyzed by immunohistochemistry. ST treated group showed significantly decreased anxiety behavior and enhanced sleeping duration time and sleeping onset time concentration dependently. The expression of c-fos was significantly upregulated in VLPO as sleep-inducing center and TMN as downregulated in arousal center by ST treatment. In addition, all effects of ST were reversed by flumazenil. Our results suggest that ST has sleep-promoting and anti-anxiety effects through regulating arousal center (TMN) and sleep-inducing center (VLPO).
