녹지 및 경관계획에 있어서 능선의 효용성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Usefulness of the Ridge in Open Space and Landscape Planning)

  • From the viewpoint of the importance of the division theory based on topography(pyungsu) derived from the uniqueness in topography, not to mention of the function of ridge in ruban areas, the destroy of ridges should be prevented from the development of hill areas. This study intends to propose the basic concepts and principles to protect the ridge axis with green in open space and landscape planning. The main results are summarized as follows : First, eco-bridge across the ridges will be connected for the purpose of ecosystem restoration. Second, the protection and restoration of green ridge axis can be completed by Green Structure Plan which has principles and standards such as. - layout of development axis and establishment of rules on preservation - the practical use of various preservation methods and the standards suitable to the methods - laying down the standards of restoration according to the height from ground level - the application of zoning such as height district and urban design for preservation Finally, the design of implementation tools must be needed for protection and restoration.

Aeroacoustic Investigation of a Cavity with and without Doors by Delayed Detached Eddy Simulation

  • In the present study, an effort was made to numerically investigate rectangular cavity aeroacoustics with and without doors. The simulation was performed on an open cavity with an aspect ratio of 5:1:1 at Mach 0.85 using the delayed detached eddy simulation (DDES) approach based on the Spalart-Allmaras model. Two cavity configurations, a clean cavity and a cavity with doors, were modeled. The results obtained from the clean cavity were compared with the experimental sound pressure levels (SPL) and the root mean square for the pressures applied. Furthermore, comparisons of frequencies were made using a modified semi-empirical Rossiter formula. The simulation using DDES precisely predicted the pressure fluctuation and the results matched the experiment quite well. The SPLs at the rear of the cavity were much higher than those in the front due to the instability of the shear layer impinging on the rear wall. Comparisons of DDES for the clean cavity and the doors-on cavity revealed that the SPLs inside the cavity as well as the magnitude of tones are amplified by the side doors. The main focus of this investigation was to obtain a better understanding of the open cavity acoustic resonance phenomenon and investigate the effects of cavity doors on the SPL.

Sejong Open cluster Survey - II. The star forming region IC 1848 (W5)

  • UBVI and $H{\alpha}$ CCD photometry of IC 1848, one of active star-forming regions in Cas OB6, is carried out as a part of Sejong Open cluster Survey (SOS) project. An OB association is an ideal laboratory for studying the triggered star formation and star formation history. Our purposes are to provide deep photometric data up to 21 mag in V and physical parameters of IC 1848. We classify 79 early-type stars and 186 pre-main sequence (PMS) stars as being the members of the cluster using photometric criteria. The IR excess emission PMS stars by Koenig et al. (2008) are also included as members of IC 1848. Total number of members is 414. We derive the interstellar reddening (=$0.659{\pm}0.058$ mag), reddening law ($R_V=4.0{\pm}0.1$), distance modulus ($V_0-M_V=12.0{\pm}0.1$ mag) using the early-type members of IC 1848. We also determine the age of the cluster ($3.5{\pm}1.5$ Myr) by placing the theoretical isochrones on the HR diagram.

  • In Korea, open spaces of urban housing do not serve residents as "regular living areas". We carried out research on the "streets" of urban housings in that the meaning of traditional "streets", playing roles which are not only means of passage but also boundary of life, cannot include present meaning of "streets" of the urban housing. This research is to propose the direction of planning Community Streets for the recovery of the public- and communal urban housing's streets, researching the present employment condition of Community Streets that were prepared recently. Working with 3 complexes which have been completed since 2000, We studied the present employment condition and planned signification, according to the conditions of their surroundings, the physical conditions of Community Streets, and the relationship among main apartment buildings, open spaces, and facilities. From this study, We came up with several suggestions that can present the planning line of Community Streets. Therefore this research is to create the Community Streets for the activity of the streets, the recovery of the community, and improvement of ambulatory environment.

  • The early post-war modern architecture introduced to Korea in the 60's and 70's have reached its 50 year cycle to emerge as candidates for the registered heritage. However, conservation is a complicated topic when applied to modern architecture due to its social and political status among general public, and is often a sacrificial target for demolition or insensitive alteration. This research tries to identify significant values extracted from the intrinsic characteristics of modern architecture, that can be applied to conducting successful renovation projects on modern architecture. The conservational values of modern architecture to be maintained are identified in this paper as: flexible open space, material and structural system, and extension of interior-exterior relation. These values are examined through the filter of comparative analysis on domestic and international conservation standards, along with cross-examination on recently renovated local works performed on the modern architecture of the period. This research aims to bring focus on conducting respectful conservation and renovation to modern architecture by identifying the significant values that is intrinsic to the modern architecture and is worth preserving.

  • A moving-coil-type linear oscillatory actuator(LOA) consists of the NdFeB permanent magnets with high specific energy as the stator, a coil-wrapped nonmagnetic hollow rectangular structure. The LOA system was represented by the voltage equation of coil and the mechanical equation of motion. This set of equations was manipulated in state-space form. The EMF constant kE of equation parameters in state-space form can be obtained by using the induced voltage in armature coils at open circuit test. kE and other parameters provide the system matrices and transfer function for frequency response and dynamic simulation. Voltage source inverter-fed LOA is examined aiming to compare with results of simulation.

방화셔터와 피난계단이 존재하는 실내 환경의 화재 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 (A Fire Computer Simulation of Inner Space with Fire Shutters and Refuge Stairs)

  • 논문에서는 방화셔터와 피난계단이 존재하는 실내 환경의 화재 시뮬레이션을 실시하여 방화셔터와 화재 확산 사이의 관계를 분석하였다. 화재 시뮬레이션용 상용 소프트웨어인 FDS(Fire Dynamics Simulator)를 사용하여 가상으로 설정한 실내 로비에서 화재 규모와 방화셔터의 개폐 여부를 변화시켜 가면서 모의실험을 실시하였다. 실험을 통해 화재실 벽면과 계단 입구의 온도 변화, 이산화탄소 농도 변화, 연기의 확산 등의 변수들을 구하고 결과를 검토하였다. 피난계단에서 온도와 이산화탄소의 분포는 화재규모와 개구부의 개폐 여부와 별 상관이 없으나, 방화셔터의 부분 하강이 연기의 확산을 막고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper aims to clarify the spatial form and functional characteries of traditional market place in Seomjin river. The objects of this study are Gokseong, Gurye, Soonchang, and Okgok market place. The results are as follows. First, the form of the traditional market that it was open focusing on large open space of a village was maintained until now. Second, the spatial form of a market place surrounds market-shop located at the center of a market, and a permanent market-store is located in a line. Spatial element important for constituting a market place is three, market-shop, stall, and the mall of market place, and each spatial element is functioning in linkage. The unit space of market-shop is mainly determined by between pillars, and a store is opened. And the same type of industry adjoins, and market-shop's forms a fixed domain and is distributed. The stall is located with many kinds and forms at street mall, and it is taking charge of the important function of trade.

중환자실 병상주변공간의 면적과 간격에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Area and Clearances around Patient Bed Space in Intensive Care Unit)

  • Purpose: This study tries to propose the dimensions and area related to patient bed and surroundings in ICU considering nurses' observation and medical care. Methods: Literature survey, 11 Case studies, some Interviews with nurses and measuring of medical equipments' dimension in ICU have been mobilized in order to deepen the ICU bed area standards. Results: 0.3m clearance between head wall and patient bed is necessary for emergency cases. The minimum distance at the foot of the bed should not be less than 0.9m for EMR cart and medical tray. The clear floor area of one bed and surroundings in open ward is $10.2m^2(3m{\times}3.4m)$. In a single-bed patient room, the minimum clear floor area is $16.0m^2(4m{\times}4m)$. Considering the control of cross infection in ICU, Single bed patient room is recommended. Implications: The result of this study can be applied to the design of ICU and legislation of ICU standard.

An Experimental Study on the H-Beam Under Fire Load in Open Space

  • To validate the fire safety assessment of structures, many structural experiments under fire load have been conducted. However, most of these experiments were conducted in restricted environments, such as inside a furnace, and experiments were seldom carried out in open space. In this study, an experimental study on H-beams, frequently used as structural reinforcements, was carried out for validating the thermal-structural analysis method under development. A 1.8 MW burner fire was adopted with each end of the H-beam fixed without a mechanical load. Gas temperature, steel surface temperature, and displacements were then measured. During the experiment, gas and steel temperatures were obtained at 9 and 17 points near the H-beam, respectively. In addition, the vertical and horizontal displacements of the H-beam under fire load at 6 points were obtained. Furthermore, it was verified that the stable displacement measurements via the contact and non-contact methods were feasible in harsh environments where flames and smoke were both present.
