Web Service Application for Machine Tool Fault with Open Architecture CNC (개방형 CNC를 가지는 공작기계의 고장진단과 웹 서비스 기술)

  • The conventional CNC(Computerized Numerical Controller) of machine tool, which is dependent to CNC maker, was a closed architecture type. Therefore, it is impossible to implement a special user-define function to CNC. But recently, CNC is changed to OAC(Open Architecture Controller) type increasingly and the general function of CNC can be upgrade efficiently. This paper describes web service application for remote monitoring regarding the faults or machine tool with open architecture CNC. The major faults of CNC machine tool can be defined to the operational faults to be charged over 70%. Those faults are unpredictable because of being occurred without any warning. To generalize the fault diagnosis efficiently. two diagnosis models such as SF(Switching Function) and SSF(Step Switching Function) are proposed and the function of fault diagnosis is implemented to internal function of OAC. Also, to service remotely the faults of CNC machine tool. the suitable web environment is proposed and practical function is programmed to evaluate its operation on web.

  • An open architecture manufacturing strategy intends to integrate manufacturing components on a single platform so that a particular component can be easily added and/or replaced. Therefore, the control scheme based upon the open architecture concept is hardware-independent. In this paper, a modular and object oriented approach for a PC-based open robot control system is investigated. A standard reference model for robot systems, which consists of three modules; hardware module, operating system module, and application software module, is first proposed. Then, a PC-based Open Robot Controller(PC-ORC), which can reconfigure robot control systems in various production environments, is developed. The PC-ORC is built upon the object-oriented method, and allows an easy implementation and modification of various modules. The PC-ORC consists of basic softwares, application objects, and additional hardware device on the PC Platform. The application objects are: sequencer, computation unit, servo control, ancillary equipment, external sensor control, and so on. In order to demonstrate the applicability of the PC-ORC, the proposed PC-ORC configuration is applied to an industrial SCARA robot system.

  • This paper proposed a web-based open architecture monitoring system using the Java language. The proposed system can be implemented in any platform and the status of the process can be monitored in a remote station. The proposed scheme have been applied to a steam generator level controller for a nuclear power plant. The result shows the feasibility of the proposed system.

  • In the manufacturing industries, agility and flexibility are the key issues to meet the various market demands. From this point of view, open architecture control has many advantages. This paper suggests a real-time Linux-based open architecture controller. Linux-based and windows-based controllers are compared in several aspects, and Linux is shown to be advantageous over the windows. With the user friendly GUI, the suggested controller is applied to the X-Y stage which is made of two linear motors. Path following and repeatability performances are successfully observed, which shows the validity of the suggested controller.

  • The diagnosis of faults of machine tool, which is controlled by CNC and PLC, is generally based on ladder diagram of PLC. Because sequential controls for CNC and servo motor are mostly processed in PLC. However, when fault is occurred, a searching for logical relation to fault reasons is required a lot of fault experiences and times, because PLC program has step structure. In this paper, FDS(Fault Diagnosis System) is developed and implemented to machine tool with open architecture controller in order to find the reason of fault lastly and correctly. The diagnosed reasons for fault are tele-serviced on web through developed RSS(Remote Service System). The operationability and usefulness of developed system are evaluated on specially manufactured machine tool with open architecture CNC. The results of this research can be the model of remote monitoring and fault diagnosis system of machine tool with open architecture CNC.

Wind Pressure Spectra for Circular Closed and Open Dome Roofs (원형 밀폐 및 개방형 돔 지붕의 풍압 스펙트럼)

  • Wind tunnel tests were conducted to analyze the wind fluctuating pressures on a circular closed and open dome roof with a low span rise. Two dome models with various geometric parameters (height/span ratios and open ratios) were used for fixed span rise ratio dome and wind pressure spectrum were analyzed. The applicability was examined in comparison with the spectral model proposed in the previous studies. The analysis results show that the wind pressure spectrum of open dome roof tends to increase power in the high frequency range and the second peak is found in the area different from the closed dome roof. In addition, according to the comparison analysis with the previous proposed spectral model, it was found that it is not applicable to the closed and open dome roofs with low rise ratio due to the different peak frequencies.

  • In this study the characteristics of wind pressure that are depending on the open type of retractable dome roof were analyzed according to the wind pressure coefficient and wind pressure spectrum. The analysis results showed that the open type and shape of the roof both had a significant impact on the wind pressure changing. In case of the edge to center open type, the wind pressure has not changed much because of the complex turbulence of flow and open area. On the other hand, in case of the center to edge open type, it has confirmed that wind pressure increases due to the separation of flow in windward and open area.

  • This research focused on the improved alternatives of the ordinance which practically control the open space in-situ, public open space and landscape construction related to city landscape for the healthy physical and mental life of the city dwellers. The contents of the study are as follows: 1. The special law of Landscape Architecture should be legislated. 2. The portion of landscaping should be changed by up-grading in the Ordinance of Landscape area and planting and the terms of landscape Facilities should include the ecological aspects in it's contents in the law. 3. The administration of local governments should actively lead and support the dwellers to make the roof gardens and the window gardens in the building area of cities or commercial districts which have relatively low rate of green space. 4. Any new construction and restoration of the buildings with preservation of the natural environment and creation of public open space should be given incentive and Set-back space in aesthetic area should have appropriate planting area and facilities in it. 5. Organizing professional landscape evaluation committee and composing evaluation standards are very important because of the contemporary proposition of the establishment of the establishment of ecological space and conservation of urban natural space. Because of the characteristics of Landscape Architecture, the Provisions of landscape Architecture Design and landscape architecture supervision of the specialist should be legislated and the Landscape Architectural Organization should be established within the Government.

  • This paper present a robot controller developed for shipbuilding yard. Since shipbuilding process handles large work pieces and has dusty and noisy environment, the developed controller has separated architecture into main control part and servo control part. Main control part is located in control room while servo control part is located near robot with work pieces. Commutation between two parts is done through SynqNet and RS485. Air purging system is adapted to servo control part for better reliability. We aimed open architecture in both hardware and software architecture. For open hardware architecture, we employed Compact PCI (cPCI) because it is widely used bus system and very reliable. Since lots of commercial boards are available with cPCI interface, upgrade and reconfiguration is easy. For open software architecture, Windows XP�� Embedded is selected as operating system (OS), because it is very popular OS and most hardware vender supports device driver for the windows XP.
