Purpose: The purpose of this study is to see what impact the heat and press-on-metal technique has on the marginal fit of metal ceramic crown. Materials and methods: Prior to the experiment, 4 metal master models were prepared. Each model has margin of chamfer, margin of heavy chamfer, margin of shoulder with bevel and margin of shoulder (collarless). Additionally, 10 crowns were made for each margin, total of 40 crowns. Marginal discrepancy between the master model and crown was observed at ${\times}100$ microscopic magnification in two states; in coping state and upon completion of making metal ceramic crown. Data analysis was performed using paired t-test along with one-way ANOVA and Duncan multiple comparison test. Results: After analyzing mean and standard deviation of marginal discrepancy, it was confirmed that marginal discrepancies were within the clinical permitted range for all states; in coping state and upon completion of making metal ceramic crown. For the chamfer group, a significant increase in marginal discrepancy upon completion of making metal ceramic crown was observed compared to the heavy chamfer group. Also, a marginal discrepancy of porcelain margin in shoulder group was significantly less than the marginal discrepancy of metal margin in chamfer and shoulder group. Conclusion: From the test result, one can conclude that marginal fit of metal ceramic crown built with heat and press-on-metal technique is not significantly different from marginal fit of metal ceramic crown built with traditional technique. And along with efficiency of this system, heat and press-on-metal technique is considered in clinic.
Objectives : In this study, contact angle and shore D hardness were measured, and a shark fin test was conducted after selecting five addition silicon(Blu-Mousse, BM; EXABITE II, EX; PERFECT, PF; Regisil$^{(R)}$ Rigid, RE; Silagum$^{(R)}$, SI) in order to figure out the properties of elastomeric interocclusal recording materials and reduce errors at interocclusal recording. 8) Methods : A contact angle was measured using a contact angle analyzer. After placing a drop of liquid on the surface of the specimens of interocclusal recording materials, a contact angle was photographed with a CCD camera on the equipment. In terms of a shark fin test, interocclusal recording materials were mixed for the time proposed by the manufacturer and inserted into the split ring of the Shark fin device. Twenty (20) seconds exactly, a metal rod was removed to make the materials slowly absorbed. Once they hardened, fin height was measured with a caliper after separating molds and trimming the specimens. The shore D hardness was measured with a shore D hardness tester(Model HPDSD, Hans Schmidt & Co. Gmbh, Germany) in sixty (60) minutes after fabricating specimens. In each experiment, five specimens, mean and standard deviation were calculated. A one-way ANOVA test was performed at the p>0.05 level of significance. In terms of correlation among the tests, Pearson correlation coefficient was estimated. For multiple comparison, Scheffe's test was carried out. Results : A contact angle was the highest in EX with $99.23^{\circ}$ (p<0.05) while the result of the shark fin test was the longest in RE with 5.45mm. SI was the lowest (0.27mm) with statistical significance. Among the interocclusal recording materials, significant difference was observed in terms of means (p<0.05). The shore D hardness was the highest in SI with 31.0 while RE was significantly low with 16.4 (p<0.05). Among the materials, statistically significant difference was observed in terms of means when compared to the rest materials (RE), BM, RE and SI (PF and EX) and the remaining materials (BM and SI) (p<0.05). In terms of correlations among the tests, a negative correlation occurred between shore D hardness and shark fin test(r=-0.823, p=0.000). Conclusions : According to the study above, it is necessary to understand the properties of interocclusal recording materials and consider contact angle, shark fin test and properties of shore D hardness to select appropriate materials.
To evaluate the climate change impacts on water resources, this study generates and analyzes the climate change scenarios for 139 sub-basins in Korea using high resolution ($27km\;{\times}\; 27km$) SHES A2 scenario and LARS-WG. The $27km\;{\times}\; 27km$ high resolution NCAR/PSU MM5 scenario is downscaled from 350km horizontal resolution ECHO-G data. The A2 scenario relatively well reproduced Korean spatial precipitation characteristics, but it underestimated the precipitation over the Han River and the Gum River basins. The LARS-WG was selected and evaluated to overcome the limitation of climate model and to create a highly reliable climate scenario. The results show that the monthly mean minimum and maximum temperature and monthly mean precipitation are within ${\pm}20%$ from the observed mean, and ${\pm}50%$ from the standard deviation that represents the generated data are highly reliable. Moreover, the comparison results between observed data and generated data from LARS-WG show that the latter can reflect the regional climate characteristic very well that can not be simulated from the former.
Normal values of serum electrolytes were determined for adult 36 females and 18 males, 1 to 6 years old, of Jindo dogs. The mean values, standard deviation and rangEs of sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium and inorganic phosphorus were studied and data analyzed to determine whether differences existed between the values of female and those of male dogs. The results obtained in this study were as follows: 1. The mean value of serum sodium was $143{\pm}1.5mEq/liter$, ranged from 138mEq/liter to 152 mEq/liter. The mean values for the females and males were $144{\pm}2.0mEq/liter$ and $142{\pm}1.7mEq/liter$, respectively. They showed that the female dogs had a tendency toward higher values than the male dogs, but no significant sex-related differences were observed. 2. The mean value of serum potassium was $4.6{\pm}0.2mEq/liter$, ranged frem 3.5mEq/liter to 6.0mEq/liter. The mean values for the females and males were $4.7{\pm}0.4mEq/liter$ and $4.5{\pm}0.3mEq/liter$. They showed that the female dogs had a tendency toward higher values than the male dogs, but sex differences were not found to be significant. 3. The mean value of serum chloride was $103{\pm}3.0mEq/liter$ ranged from 95mEq/liter to 117mEq/liter. The mean values for the females and males were $103{\pm}3.2mEq/liter$ and $103{\pm}3.3mEq/liter$, no sex differences showed. 4. The mean value of serum calcium was $5.2{\pm}0.1mEq/liter$ ranged from 4.7mEq/liter to 5.8mEq/liter. The mean values for the females and males were $5.4{\pm}0.1mEq/liter$ and $5.2{\pm}0.09mEq/liter$ respectively, no significant sexd iffere-nces were observed. 5. The mean value of serum inorganic phosphorus was $4.3{\pm}0.7mg/100ml$, ranged from 2.5mg/100ml to 5.8mg/100ml. The mean values for the females and males were $4.3{\pm}0.9mg/100ml$ and $4.1{\pm}0.8mg/100ml$, respectively, no sex differences showed.

$Bi_2Te_3-Bi_2Se_3$ alloy which is typical n-type thermoelectric material were grown by traveling heater method (THM) technique. We investigate the effect of the composition of $100-x(Bi_2Te_3)-x(Bi_2Se_3)$ and doping of n-type dopants such as $SbI_3$ and $CdCl_2$. Maximum figure of merit of $Bi_2Te_3-Bi_2Se_3$ alloy was observed with $CdCl_2$ 0.1 wt% (Z: $2.73{\times}10^{-3}/K$) and $SbI_3$ 0.05 wt% (Z: $2.29{\times}10^{-3}/K$). Deviation along the length of $Bi_2Te_3-Bi_2Se_3$ ingot grown by THM method is low, which indicates that the ingot is very homogenized. Also we observed the close relationship of between anisotropy ratio and dopant in the $90(Bi_2Te_3)-10(Bi_2Se_3)$ alloys. And we confirmed the fact that anisotropy ratio exerts thermoelectric performance in $Bi_2Te_3$ based n-type thermoelectric material.
An experimental study to investigate the condensing heat transfer characteristics of small diameter horizontal double pipe heat exchangers with R-22 and R-410A was performed. Experimental facility was constructed to calculate and observe HTC(heat transfer coefficients), flow patterns and pressure drop. The main components include a liquid pump, an evaporator, a condenser(test section), a sight-glass, pressure taps and measurement apparatus. Two pipes of different diameters are tested; One 5.35 mm ID 0.5 mm thick, the other 3.36 mm ID 0.7 mm thick. The mass flow rate ranged from 200 to $500\;ks/m^2{\cdot}s$ and heating capacity were form 1.0 to 2.4 kW. The flow patterns of R-22 and R-410A were observed with a high speed camera through the sight-glass. The tests revealed that HTC of R-410A was higher than that of R-22 by maximum 5%. Annular pattern was observed for the most cases but stratified flow was also detected when x<0.2. The pressure drop in 3.36 mm ID pipe was higher than that of 5.35 mm by $30{\sim}50%$. Comparing with previous correlations such as Shah, Fujii and Soliman's, Fujii' showed the best good agreement with my data with a maximum deviation of 40%.
Fault rupture directivity of the Odaesan earthquake, which was inferred to be the main cause of the high PGAvalue (> 0.1 g) unusually observed at the near-source region, was analyzed by using the data from the nearby (R < 100 km) dense seismic stations. The Boatwright's method (2007) was adopted for this purpose in which the azimuth and takeoff angle of the unilateral rupture directivity function could be estimated based on the relative peak ground-motions of seismic stations resulting from the nature of the rupture directivity. In this study, the approximate values of the relative peak ground-motions was derived from the difference between the log residuals of the point-source spectral model (Boore, 2003) for the main and secondary events based on the Random Vibration Theory. In this derivation, the spectral difference for a frequency range between the source corner frequencies of main and secondary events was considered to reflect only the effect of the fault directivity. The inversion result of the model parameters for the fault directivity function showed that the fault-plane of NWW-SEE direction dipping steeply to the North with high rupture velocity near upward in SE direction is responsible for the observed high level of ground-motion at the near-source region.

In this paper, temporal variations of acoustic transmission loss (TL) affected by internal tide are studied by computer simulation using oceanic data measured in the southern sea of Jeju Island in summer. Temperature was measured with depth (bottom depth are nearly 80 m) in two sites near Seogwipo coast every one hour for 25 hours during July 27 and 28, 2009. The periodic fluctuation of temperature due to the internal tide was observed and its vertical displacement was more than 10 m. In order to investigate temporal variation of TL by internal tide, acoustic propagation between two measurement sites (3.8 km distance) was simulated with a source depth of 10 m. TL variation for 1/3 octave band of 100 Hz center frequency highly coincided with tidal period but more complex variation with indistinct tidal period was observed for 1 kHz. Maximun standard deviation of TL variation was 4.2 dB for 100 Hz at 2.8 km distance from a source and it was 3.7 dB for 1 kHz. The tidal variation was also shown in detection range and its maximum variance was less than 1 km. These results imply that temporal variation of TL should be considered for acoustic researches at the southern sea of Jeju Island.
When it comes to these buildings for business use, cooling load during summertime was reported to have great importance which, as a result, impressively increased interest in Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC). Such SHGC is considered to be lowered with the help of colors and functions of glass itself, internal shading devices, insulation films and others but basically, these external shading devices for initial blocking that would not allow solar heat to come in from outside the buildings are determined to be most effective. Of many different external shading devices, this thesis conducted an analysis on Exterior Venetian Blind. As for vertical shading devices, previous researches already calculated SHGC conveniently using concepts of sky-opening ratios. However in terms of the Venetian Blind, such correlation is not possibly applied. In light of that, in order to extract a valid correlation, this study first introduced a concept called shape factor, which would use the breadth and a space of a shade, before carrying out the analysis. As a consequence, the concept helped this study to find a very similar correlation. Results of the analysis are summarized as follows. (1) Regarding SHGC depending on the surface reflectance of a shade, an average of 2% error is observed and yet, the figure can always be ignored when it comes to a simple calculation. (2) As for SHGC of each bearing, this study noticed deviations of 4% or less and in the end, it is confirmed that extraction can be achieved with no more than one correlation formula. (3) When only the shape factor and nothing else is used for finding a correlation formula, the formula with a deviation of approximately 5% or less is what one would expect. (4) Since the study observed slight differences in bearings depending on ranges of the shape factors, it needed to extract a weighted value of each bearing, and learned that the smaller the shape factor, the wider the range of a weighted value. The study now suggests that a follow-up research to extract a simple calculation formula by dealing with all these various inclined angles of shade, solar radiation conditions of each region (the ratio of diffuse radiation to direct radiation and others) as well as seasonal features should be carried out.
The use of climatic information is essential in the industial society. More specialized weather servies are required to perform better industrial acivities including agriculture. Especially, crop models require daily weather data of crop growing area or cropping zones, where routine weather observations are rare. Estimates of the spatial distribution of daily climates might complement the low density of standard weather observation stations. This study was conducted to estimate the spatial distribution of daily minimum and maximum temperatures in Korean Peninsula. A topoclimatological technique was first applied to produce reasonable estimates of monthly climatic normals based on 1km $\times$ 1km grid cell over study area. Harmonic analysis method was then adopted to convert the monthly climatic normals into daily climatic normals. The daily temperatures for each grid cell were derived from a spatial interpolation procedure based on inverse-distance weighting of the observed deviation from the climatic normals at the nearest 4 standard weather stations. Data collected from more than 300 automatic weather systems were then used to validate the final estimates on several dates in 1997. Final step to confirm accuracy of the estimated temperature fields was comparing the distribution pattern with the brightness temperature fields derived from NOAA/AVHRR. Results show that differences between the estimated and the observed temperatures at 20 randomly selected automatic weather systems(AWS) range from -3.$0^{\circ}C$ to + 2.5$^{\circ}C$ in daily maximum, and from -1.8$^{\circ}C$ to + 2.2$^{\circ}C$ in daily minimum temperature. The estimation errors, RMSE, calculated from the data collected at about 300 AWS range from $1.5^{\circ}C$ to 2.5$^{\circ}C$ for daily maximum/minimum temperatures.
