NOTE ON NORMAL EMBEDDING

  • It was shown by L. Polterovich ([3]) that if L is a totally real submanifold of a symplectic manifold $(M,\omega)$ and L is parallelizable then L is normal. So we try to find an answer to the question of whether there is a compatible almost complex structure J on the symplectic vector bundle $TM$\mid$_{L}$ such that $TL{\cap}JTL=0$ assuming L is normal and parallelizable. Although we could not reach an answer, we observed that the claim holds at the vector space level. And related to the question, we showed that for a symplectic vector bundle $(M,\omega)$ of rank 2n and $E=E_1{\bigoplus}E_2$, where $E=E_1,E_2$are Lagrangian subbundles of E, there is an almost complex structure J on E compatible with ${\omega}$ and $JE_1=E_2$. And finally we provide a necessary and sufficient condition for a given embedding into a symplectic manifold to be normal.

난소절제로 유발된 골다공증 시 흰쥐 갑상샘에 대한 조직학적 및 면역조직화학적 연구 (Histological and Immunohistological Studies of the Thyroid Glands of the Osteoporotic Rats Induced by Ovariectomy)

  • In order to investigate the histological and immunohistochemical changes of thyroid glands, and serum osteocalcini estradiol, pmgesterone, follicular-stimulating hormone (FSH), and calcium levels in the osteoporotic rats induced by ovariectomy, normal(sham-operated group) and experimental groups(ovariectomized group) were divided. The experimental groups were subdivide6 to 5, 10, 15, and 20 weeks after ovariectomized groups. The histological structure of the thyroid gland were observed in normal structure throughout all experimental periods but the calcitonin-immunoreartive cells in the experimental groups were significantly decreased compared with normal groups and degranulations of calcitonin-immunoreactive cells were observed. Theses numbers were decreased with time after ovariectomy. However, the serum osteocalcin and FSH levels of experimental groups were significantly increased compared with normal groups and these levels were increased along with time after ovariectomy, but serum estradiol, progestemn and calcium levels of experimental group were significantly decreased compared with normal groups and these levels were decreased with time after ovariectomy.

  • 생체복합재료인 참굴 (Crassostrea gigas) 패각은 생성되는 형태에 따라 정상패각과 재생패각으로 구분되었다. 산과 알칼리를 이용한 탈 석회화과정 및 단백질제거반응을 통해 재생패각 내에서 얻어진 유기막이 키틴 특성을 가지고 있음을 FT-IR (Fourier transform infrared spectrometer)과 XRD (X-ray Diffractometer)를 통해 확인하였다. 불용성단백질의 함량은 정상패각이 재생패각과 비교하여 두배 이상 이었던 반면 수용성단백질 2차구조는 재생패각의 경우 random과 같은 불규칙구조가 많은 부분을 차지하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 수용성단백질의 아미노산 조성과 단백질 2차구조분석을 통해 재생패각의 탄산칼슘 합성전략을 분자수준에서 논의하였고 재생패각 형성과 관련된 생광물화 전략이 패각의 재료학적 특성에 미치는 결과로써 해석되었다.

The Change in Exercise Capacity, Cardiac Structure and Function in Pre-Metabolic Syndrome Adults

  • This study divided a group of healthy adults aged 20 or older who had a health examination at J General Hospital in Gyeonggi Province into three groups according to the degrees of metabolic syndrome risk factors. They include the normal group (n=58), the pre-metabolic syndrome group (n=112) and the metabolic syndrome group (n=32). They were compared in exercise capacity and cardiac structure and function and impacts of exercise capacity on the cardiac diastolic function. All the groups took echocardiography to have their cardiac structures and functions examined and an exercise stress test to have their exercise capacity measured. The research findings were as follows: There were differences in exercise capacity, cardiac structure, and diastolic heart function among three groups. Between exercise capacity and diastolic heart function was found to be related. It turned out exercise capacity affected the cardiac diastolic functions. In conclusion, there were significant differences in exercise capacity between the normal group and the metabolic syndrome group and in the cardiac structure and function among the normal, metabolic syndrome, and pre-metabolic syndrome group. In addition, METs (metabolic equivalents) and heart rate recovery of exercise capacity turned out to affect cardiac diastolic functions.

  • Let M be a semi-invariant submanifold of codimension 3 with almost contact metric structure (𝜙, 𝜉, 𝜂, g) in a complex space form Mn+1(c), c ≠ 0. We denote by A and R𝜉 the shape operator in the direction of distinguished normal vector field and the structure Jacobi operator with respect to the structure vector 𝜉, respectively. Suppose that the third fundamental form t satisfies dt(X, Y) = 2𝜃g(𝜙X, Y) for a scalar 𝜃(< 2c) and any vector fields X and Y on M. In this paper, we prove that if it satisfies R𝜉A = AR𝜉 and at the same time ∇𝜉R𝜉 = 0 on M, then M is a Hopf hypersurface of type (A) provided that the scalar curvature s of M holds s - 2(n - 1)c ≤ 0.

  • A mixture fraction formulation is used to numerically simulate the structure of diluted axisymmetric methane-air nonpremixed counterflow flames. The effects of global strain rate and gravity wert! investigated and results were compared. Fuel of a mixture of 20% methane and 80% nitrogen by volume and oxidizer of pure air at low and moderate global strain rates $a_g= 20, 40, 80 s^{-1}$ in normal and zero gravity were computed. It is shown that the numerical method is capable of predicting the structure of counterflow flames in normal and microgravity environments at low and moderate global strain rates.

단순언어장애 아동과 정상 아동의 구문적 난이도에 따른 문장따라말하기; 수행력 및 명료도 비교 (The Effect of Syntactic Complexity on Sentence Repetition Performance and Intelligibility between Specific Language Impairment and Normal Children.)

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of syntactic complexity (sentence length and sentence structure) on sentence repetition performance and intelligibility between specific language impairment (SLI) and normal children. Thirteen SLI children and twenty-six normal children, matched by 3 years of language, participated in this study. The sentence repetition performance of the subjects were analyzed based on the sentence length (3-word simple sentences and 5-word simple sentences) and sentence structure (5-word simple sentences, 5-word conjoined complex sentences, and 5-word embedded complex sentences). The results of this study indicated the sentence structure influenced sentence repetition performance and intelligibility of SLI children only. The implication of these findings were discussed.

SSR 분자마커를 이용한 찰옥수수 및 종실용 옥수수 자식계통들의 핵심집단에 대한 유전적 다양성 및 집단구조 분석 (Analysis of Genetic Diversity and Population Structure for Core Set of Waxy and Normal Maize Inbred Lines using SSR Markers)

  • 본 연구는 총 50개의 SSR 마커를 이용하여, 찰옥수수 및 종실용 옥수수 핵심집단(찰옥수수 40계통, 종실용 옥수수 40계통)의 자식계통들의 유전적 다양성, 집단구조 및 계통유연관계를 분석하였다. 1. 그 결과 65bp에서 225bp 크기의 범위로 총 242개의 대립단편들을 증폭시켰다. SSR primer들에서 증폭된 대립단편의 수는 최소 2개에서부터 최대 9개까지의 범위로 나타났고, 평균 4.84개가 증폭되었다. 그리고 GD값은 0.420에서 0.854의 범위로 나타났고, 평균 0.654의 값을 나타내었다. 2. 80개의 옥수수 자식계통들의 집단구조를 분석한 결과, 13개의 찰옥수수 자식계통은 group I에 포함되었고, Group II는 7개의 찰옥수수 자식계통과 38개의 종실용 옥수수 자식계통들이 포함되었다. 나머지 22개의 자식계통들은 admixed group에 포함되었으며, 20개 찰옥수수 자식계통과 2개의 종실용 옥수수 자식계통으로 구성되어있다. 3. UPGMA법에 의한 계통유연관계 분석 결과, 80개 옥수수 자식계통들은 유전적 유사성 31.7% 수준에서 크게 3개의 그룹으로 나누어졌다. Group I은 40개의 찰옥수수 자식계통과 11개의 종실용 옥수수 자식계통을 포함하고 있었고, Group II는 27개의 종실용 옥수수 자식계통을, 그리고 Group III은 단지 2개의 종실용 옥수수 자식계통을 포함하고 있었다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과는 앞으로 강원도 농업기술원 옥수수시험장에서 육성한 찰옥수수 및 종실용 옥수수 자식계통들에 대한 유전자원 관리 및 선발 그리고 교배조합 구성 및 예측 등에 유용한 정보를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.
