Under recent dramatic declines in response rates, various procedures have been considered among survey practitioners to reduce nonresponse in order to avoid its potential impairment to the inference. In the random digit dialing telephone surveys, substantial efforts are often required to obtain the initial contact for the screener interview. To reduce a burden with higher data collection costs, refusal conversion can be administered only to a random portion of the sample, reducing nonresponse (bias) with an expense of sample variability increment due to the associated weight adjustment. In this paper, we provide ways to determine the optimal subsampling rate using a linear cost model. Our approach for refusal subsampling is to predetermine a random portion from the full sample and to apply refusal conversion efforts if needed only to the subsample.

Properties of stochastic regression imputation are discussed under the uniform within-cell response model. Variance estimator is proposed and its asymptotic properties are discussed. A limited simulation is also presented.

본 연구에서는 2003년 시작된 한국청소년패널조사 중학교 2학년 패널자료 분석을 위해 필수적인 각 연도별 횡단면, 종단면 가중치 산출방안을 소개하고 있다. 패널 모집 당시 추출된 표본이 대표하는 모집단의 종단면적 변화 분석을 위한 종단면 가중치는 로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용한 무응답 보정과 사후 층화를 통해 산출되었으며, 조사 연도의 표본 대응 모집단 분석을 위해 필수적인 횡단면 가중치는 전년도 대비 응답률과 사후 층화를 통해 산출되었다.

Purpose: The long-term efficacy and safety of infliximab (IFX) in children with ulcerative colitis (UC) have not been well-evaluated. Here, we reviewed the long-term durability and safety of IFX in our single center pediatric cohort with UC. Methods: This retrospective study included 20 children with UC who were administered IFX. Results: For induction, 5 mg/kg IFX was administered at weeks 0, 2, and 6, followed by every 8 weeks for maintenance. The dose and interval of IFX were adjusted depending on clinical decisions. Corticosteroid (CS)-free remission without dose escalation (DE) occurred in 30% and 25% of patients at weeks 30 and 54, respectively. Patients who achieved CS-free remission without DE at week 30 sustained long-term IFX treatment without colectomy. However, one-third of the patients discontinued IFX treatment because of a primary nonresponse, and one-third experienced secondary loss of response (sLOR). IFX durability was higher in patients administered IFX plus azathioprine for >6 months. Four of five patients with very early onset UC had a primary nonresponse. Infusion reactions (IRs) occurred in 10 patients, resulting in discontinuation of IFX in four of these patients. No severe opportunistic infections occurred, except in one patient who developed acute focal bacterial nephritis. Three patients developed psoriasis-like lesions. Conclusion: IFX is relatively safe and effective for children with UC. Clinical remission at week 30 was associated with long-term durability of colectomy-free IFX treatment. However, approximately two-thirds of the patients were unable to continue IFX therapy because of primary nonresponse, sLOR, IRs, and other side effects.

Multiple imputation, proposed by Rubin, is a procedure for handling missing data. One of the attractive parts of multiple imputation is the simplicity of the variance estimation formula. Because of the simplicity, it has been often abused and misused beyond its original prescription. This paper provides the bias of the multiple imputation variance estimator for a linear point estimator and discusses when the bias can be safely neglected.

In this paper, we propose a class of imputed estimators using response probability. The proposed estimator can be justified under the response probability model and thus is robust against the failure of the assumed imputation model. We also propose a variance estimator that is justified under the response probability model.

In this paper, a sample design is studied for 2000 forestry management survey of five types forestry , tree felling, gathering of pine mushroom, growing of nut trees, growing of wild flowers, and lumbering industry. We introduce population stratification and a modified stratified cut-off sampling which deal with determination of sample size, sample allocation, and estimation of total and variance of estimator. Substitution of sample units and imputation of nonresponse units are discussed for reducing the nonsampling errors.

Although the response model has been frequently applied to nonresponse weighting adjustment or imputation, the estimation under callbacks has been relatively underdeveloped in the response model. The estimation method using the response probability is developed under callbacks. A replication method for the estimation of the variance of the proposed estimation is also developed. Since the true response probability is usually unknown, we study the estimation of the response probability. Finally, we propose an estimator under callbacks using the ratio imputation as well as the response probability. The simulation study illustrates our techniques.

The application of multivariate linear rank statistics to data with item nonresponse is considered. Only a modest extension of the complete data techniques is required when the missing data may be thought of as a random sample, and an appropriate modification of the covariances is derived. A proof of the asymptotic multivariate normality is given. A review of some related results in the literature is presented and applications including longitudinal and repeated measures designs are discussed.
