We present a novel method for eye location by means of a two-level classifier scheme. Locating the eye by machine-inspection of an image or video is an important problem for Computer Vision and is of particular value to applications in biomedical imaging. Our method aims to overcome the significant challenge of an eye-location that is able to maintain high accuracy by disregarding highly variable changes in the environment. A first level of computational analysis processes this image context. This is followed by object detection by means of a two-class discrimination classifier(second algorithmic level).We have tested our eye location system using FERET and BioID database. We compare the performance of two-level classifier with that of non-level classifier, and found it's better performance.

For reaserching the factors of plants micro-distribution, accumulation of 5 minerals-total-nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and calcium-for 19 plant species was investigated in reclaimed land, in western coast of Korea, In the five minerals, sodium contents were quite different among the species. Plant species were divided into 4 groups based on the sodium accumulation and accumulation site in plant tissue: Na accumultion type above-ground part>below-ground part : Triglochin maritimum, Chenopodium virgatum, Atriplex subcordata, Salicornia herbacea, Suaeda japonica, suaeda asparagoides, Limonium tetragonum, Aster tripolium, Artemisia scoparia, Sonchus brachyotus above-ground partbelow-ground part : Zoysia sinica, amagrostis epigeiosa bove-ground part

본 연구는 인간에 있어서 가장 간단한 의사라고 여겨지는 긍정과 부정 응답에 대해 나타나는 뇌파의 변화를 잘 반영하는 특징을 찾아내고자 하기 위한 것이다. 고차 통계적 방법(high order statical analysis)인 바이스펙트럼(bispectrum)은 뇌파의 다른 부위와 다른 주파수 사이의 비선형위상커플링(non-linear phase coupling)을 잘 반영하므로, 이를 이용하여 긍정이나 부정을 선택할 때 나타나는 뇌파를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 반응 전 1.25초∼0.5초 에 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 긍정과 부정 응답에 대한 뇌파의 주파수와 부위를 찾아 신경회로망의 입력으로 사용하여 긍정과 부정 응답에 대해 분별하였다. 2번의 뇌파실험에서 각각 실험 데이터에 대해서는 긍/부정 차이가 존재하지만 공통적인 특징이 나타나지는 않았다.

Goodness of fit test statistics based on the information discrepancy have been shown to perform very well (Vasicek 1976, Dudewicz and van der Meulen 1981, Chandra et al 1982, Gohkale 1983, Arizona and Ohta 1989, Ebrahimi et al 1992, etc). Although the test is well defined for the non-censored case, censored case has not been discussed in the literature. Therefore we consider a goodness of fit test based on the partial Kullback-Leibler(KL) information with the type II censored data. We derive the partial KL information of the null distribution function and a nonparametric distribution function, and establish a goodness of fit test statistic. We consider the exponential and normal distributions and made Monte Calro simulations to compare the test statistics with some existing tests.

In deregulated power market, transmission pricing methodology should maintain non-discrimination amongst all participants while ensure that TRANSCOs recover their revenue requirements. The proposed transmission pricing methodology for Korea needs cost allocation ratios, such as allocation ratio of physical transport to network security and that of generators to loads. In this paper, we studied the nodal transmission price determined by the cost allocation factors and its influence on GENCOs and DISTCOs.

The purpose of this exploratory study was to investigate how the information society affected the attitude about the family/kinship life of Netizen. For this goal, the data were collected from 305 Netizen who use the Internet. The major findings were as follows. Firstly, In Netizen, the support to familism and boy preference was low level. Secondly, in their altitude to the divorce and remarriage, there was a tendency which accepts a marriage with selection. Thirdly, they had a tendency to agree equal partnership in couple relationship. Fourthly, virtual community in cyber-space was found, but the loyalty of members was not enough strong. Fifthly, in the family/kin rites, it was showed non-traditional tendency. And in all aspects, some differences were found between men and women. The findings of the present study suggest that the couple relationship in the information society becomes more important, and there is a tend to increase acceptability to increase. In contrast, there is stiff another discrimination in cyber-space by focusing on traditional mother route.

In this paper, we present details on fabrication of single-cell electroporation microdevice, practical experiments of single-cell electroporation with our fabricated microdevice. Also, the continuous electroporation for the continuous flow of cells is used for high-throughput electroporation. The delivery efficiency and cell viability tests are provided and the successful GFP transfection into cells is also evaluated with a fluorescent microscope after electroporation. This device enables to reduce the size of samples and thus the use of small amount of reagents. Also, it makes it possible to permit to avoid cell discrimination (transfected cells versus non-transfected cells) encountered when traditional bulk electroporation is held.

The Transmission network provides physical transport, network security, and connection services. The five principles of Transmission pricing are economic efficiency, cost recovery, efficient regulation, simplicity and transparency, non-discrimination. The Transmission Charges are made up of transmission connection charge and transmission charge of network. The Transmission Losses will be considered through Marginal Transmission Loss Factors in the market operation. The transmission loss rentals are used for the reduction of the annual revenue requirement of the transmission network for the purpose of derivation of transmission use of network charge.

Partial Discharge is non-disruptive discharge, which can be discriminated to 3 kinds as firstly, internal discharge which is caused by internal voids inside of insulator, secondly, surface discharge which occurs from the surface of insulator and finally, corona discharge which is from the surface of an electrode. In this thesis, three kinds of defects are artificially made to the inside and the surface of the epoxy resine busing with internal voltage detection sensor, which is practically equipped into SF6 gas insulated switchgear for 22.9kV distribution line, so that discrimination of three kinds of PD signals by means of phi-q-n pattern analysis method was performed.

This paper presents a practical fuzzy expert system to diagnose various faults occurred in local power systems. This integrated system can diagnose all faults occurred in a transmission network and substations. In this paper. the fuzzy reasoning of the diagnostic process is discussed in detail. The discrimination of false operations and non-operations of protective devices as well as the fault identification scheme are also analyzed together with the fuzzy inference process.
