공내탄도학의 무차원해석 (Non-dimensional analysis fo interior ballistics)

  • This is a dimensionless analysis of interior ballistics for the design of gun tube. One of the characteristics of this analysis is to ues the .ETA.$_{j}$ number which means a relative quantity of virtual work to the kimetic energy of projectile at the muzzle. In order to apply the concept of virtual work, it is assumed that the projectile is moved from the beginning to the end of bore under constant pressure of the certain travel distance of projectile. The principle of the analysis is induced from the Le Duc equation, which expresses velocity as a function of projectile travel and is based on the translation of a hyperbolic curve. From this non-dimensional analysis, the optimum design parameters of pressure in the bore, velocity and acceleration of projectile can be obtained from the table of figure without computation. This method was verified by the experimental work.k.

STALE REDUCTIONS OF SINGULAR PLANE QUARTICS

  • Let $M_g$ be the moduli space of isomorphism classes of genus g smooth curves. It is a quasi-projective variety of dimension 3g - 3, when $g > 2$. It is known that a complete subvariety of $M_g$ has dimension $< g-1 [D]$. In general it is not known whether this bound is rigid. For example, it is not known whether $M_4$ has a complete surface in it. But one knows that there is a complete curve through any given finite points [H]. Recently, an explicit example of a complete curve in moduli space is given in [G-H]. In [G-H] they constructed a complete curve of $M_3$ as an intersection of five hypersurfaces of the Satake compactification of $M_3$. One way to get a complete curve of $M_3$ is to find a complete one dimensional family $p : X \to B$ of plane quartics which gives a nontrivial morphism from the base space B to the moduli space $M_3$. This is because every non-hyperelliptic smooth curve of genus three can be realized as a nonsingular plane quartic and vice versa. This paper has come out from the effort to find such a complete family of plane quartics. Since nonsingular quartics form an affine space some fibers of p must be singular ones. In this paper, due to the semistable reduction theorem [M], we search singular plane quartics which can occur as singular fibers of the family above. We first list all distinct plane quartics in terms of singularities.

  • Confocal scanning microscopy (CSM) is an important instrument in a wide variety of imaging applications because of its ability to provide three-dimensional images of thick, volume specimens. The mechanism for two-dimensional beam scanning and optical sectioning has an important roe in CSM as the three-dimensional profiler. This optical sectioning property arises from the use of a point detector, which serves to attenuate the signals from out-of-focus. The intensity profile for the open loop scanning should be matched with its response for the standard. The non-linearity can be minimized with the optical sectioning or the optical probe of the closed loop control. This paper shows the mathematical expression of the light such as the extinction curve in the optical fields of system using AO deflector, the axial/lateral response experimentally when the error sources change, and the methods of optical sectioning.   • In this paper, the 3D shape of a hydraulic actuator cover was 3D printed by applying two materials, namely PLA and ABS. Subsequently, the printed shape was scanned to analyze the material properties, dimensional change characteristics, dimensions, and scan shape as a real model. To compare and analyze material-specific 3D printing dimensions, a non-contact mobile laser scanner was used to scan a portion of the printed hydraulic actuator cover and the final alignment shape of the 3D printed part was studied on the basis of the design model.

  • A three-parameter model of viscoelastic damper, which has a non-linear spring as an element is incorporated into an oscillator. The behavior of the damper model shows non-linear hysteresis curves which is qualitatively similar to those of real viscoelastic materials. The motion is governed by three-dimensional non-linear dynamical system of equations. The harmonic balance method is applied to get analytic solutions of the system. The frequency-response curves show that multiple solutions co-exist and that the jump phenomena can occur. In addition, it is shown that separate solution branch exists and that it can merge with the primary response curve. Saddle-node bifurcation sets explain the occurences of such non-linear phenomena. A direct time integration of the original equation of motion validifies the use of the harmonic balance method to this sort of problem.

  • In this study, we have dealt with a design characteristic of outer-rotor type permanent magnet (PM) motor applied for Engine Cooling Fan (ECF). When we design a motor with structure like this type, it is required as a requisite to consider 3-Dimensional (3-D) effect by implementing a non-linear Finite Element Analysis (FEA) due to a yoke-ceiling, which is perpendicular to the axis of rotation. We have analyzed identical models under three different conditions. The analysis has been performed through a non-linear 2-Dimensional (2-D) and 3-D FEA. Finally, the results have been compared with Back Electro-Motive Force (BEMF) value of actual motor model. As a result, a yoke-ceiling function as an additional flux path and the operating point on B-H curve of rotor material is shifted to non-saturation region relatively. Accordingly, magnetic flux linkage can be increased and motor size can be decreased under same input condition to satisfy ECF specification, such as torque.

타이어 사이드판의 문자 가공을 위한 4축 가공 시스템 (A 4-axis NC Lettering System for the Side-wall of the Automobile Tire)

  • The letters of the automobile tire are usually engraved on the side-wall. The shape of the side-wall is a sculptured surface generated by the rotational sweeping of a profile curve. The letters laid on the side-wall are usually designed by a 2-dimensional CAD. It is impossible to machine the letters on the surface accurately by 3-axis NC machining, because the axis of cutter should be tilted to align with the normal vector of the surface. In this case. the degree of freedom for the machine is at least four. This paper describes an idea for tool path generation of a 4-axis machine by using the 2-dimensional CAD data of the letters and the surface of the side-wall. This study includes the following procedures; (1) measuring the profile of the side-wall surface and curve-fitting of the measured points. (2) the 'non-parallel projection' of the letters on the side-wall, and (3) an inverse kinematics of the 4-axis lettering machine. Procedures in this paper are programmed in C-language on Windows95 environment. With a PC based CNC controller and a 4-axis lettering machine. these are tested sucessfully for the practical use.

자유곡선의 모델링기능을 활용한 대화식 수퍼요트 프로파일 설계시스템 개발 (An Interactive Design System for Construction of Superyacht Profiles based on Freeform Curve Functionality)

  • As a preliminary step to build a complete superyacht hull design program, the development of superyacht profile design system is introduced. The two-dimensional hull profile is decomposed into four local zones depending upon the functionality and connecting continuity of the profile. Characteristics of each zone are investigated and used to generate the model describing the geometric shape of zone using freeform curves. A set of design parameters is derived from the established geometric model. Generation and modification of a model are is by manipulating the chosen parameters. Four zones designed are integrated to form a final profile. An interactive design system performing all the modeling and modification processes is implemented using the graphic user interface system based an Microsoft Foundation Class and OpenCASCADE, a open graphic library. The shapes of the profiles generated by the developed design system are verified with those of built superyachts. The developed design system will be used for the construction of three-dimensional superyacht hull modeling system.

  • Here we generalize previous work by Eisenbud-Harris and Farkas in order to prove that certain Brill-Noether divisors on the moduli space of curves have distinct supports. From this fact we deduce non-trivial regularity results for a higher co dimensional Brill-Noether locus and for the general $\frac{g+1}{2}$-gonal curve of odd genusg.

  • We extend the work of A. Beauville on rank 2 vector bundles on a smooth curve in several directions. We give families of examples with large dimension, add new existence and non-existence results and prove the existence of indecomposable limits with arbitrary rank. To construct the large dimensional families we use the examples of limits of rank 2 trivial bundles on ℙ2 and ℙ3 due to C. Banica. We also consider a more flexible notion: limits of trivial bundles on nearby curves.
