  • The purpose of this study is to propose indoor noise level in residential buildings affected by transportation noise (road traffic, railway and air-craft noise) based on subjective evaluations. 30 subjects participated in the experiment to evaluate the noise.   • In order to investigate characteristics of floor impact sound generated in the apartment buildings, questionnaire survey was conducted for respondents living in apartments in 200t. Questions in the surrey were on the characteristics of real impact sounds, subjective annoyance and satisfaction on the heavy and light impact sources. From the survey results, it was found that most annoying time of a day and the space were 8 p.m. to midnight at living room. It was also revealed that the main source of the floor impact sound from the upper floor is a child's jumping and running at from six to nine. More than half of people were not satisfied on the floor impact isolation performance of their own apartments. The percentage of residents who were annoyed by the heavy-weight impact sound such as children's jumping and adult's walking was $5{\sim}10%$ lower than by light-weight impact sound. In addition, females being responded more annoyed by floor impact sound than males.

  • Aircraft noise is one of the main causes of environmental impact. It is more serious than any other noise nuisance. It has become an increasing source of annoyance to the large number of people who live in communities near airports. This paper demonstrates the prediction of aircraft noise using Integrated Noise Model(INM) 5.1 developed by U.S. FAA and aircraft noise contour map near airports.

  • Because many people suffer physical and mental damage from the noise of the traffic facilities including road, rail, airport, the advanced countries have conducted the researches of predicting and solving the impact of the human health exposed to traffic noise. Therefore, this study suggests the fundamental plans which can assess the health impact of traffic noise on the basis of the prediction results about the health impact of traffic noise.

  • Noise caused by water installations may lead to annoyance in adjacent rooms, for example in dwellings. hospitals and hotels. This part of standard describes a method of measurement allowing comparable results to be obtained in laboratory measurements. The test conditions described herein constitute the standard reference conditions essential for comparisons between laboratories.
