Subjective Evaluation of Transportation and Computer Noise (교통소음과 컴퓨터 소음의 감성반응에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose indoor noise level in residential buildings affected by transportation noise (road traffic, railway and air-craft noise) based on subjective evaluations, 30 subjects participated in the experiment to evaluate the noise. Experimental environment reproduced real living and office environment, and in asking subjects' annoyance to the noise. An experiment to investigate the subjective responses to various computer noises (CD-Rom, HDD, Fan) in office environment was also undertaken. The Result shows that the lower limit of transportation noise is $40{\sim}41dB(A)$ and upper limit is $55{\sim}60dB(A)$, whereas the lower limit of various computer noises is $36{\sim}40dB(A)$ and upper limit is $45{\sim}52dB(A)$.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of background noise on loudness magnitude estimation of Heavy-weight impact noise. Relationship between loudness magnitude estimation and estimation methods about floor impact noise had appeared low in apartment which receive much effect of background noise. Then, to need new estimation method abut effect of background noise. Masking effects by background noise is increased steadily, there is a continuous transition between an audible impact noise and one that is totally masked. Result 1 hat analyze interrelationship of phychoacoustical data and values through Zwicker Parameters, to Investigate that an estimation experiment about Annoyance need.

  • Most environmental impact assessment(EIA) programs around the world require the consideration of human health impacts. Yet relatively few EIA documents adequately address those impacts. This article examines how, why, and to what extent health impacts are analyzed in environmental impact assessments. This article investigates these problems and provides recommendations to improve human health impact assessment(HIA), using methods, procedures and case study. Also, a comprehensive approach for the evaluation of possible health effects in an EIA is described, illustrated with the example of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Unlike many EIAs, we estimated quantitatively the impact of aircraft-related pollution in terms of the number of affected people for aircraft noise annoyance, odour annoyance and hypertension. In addition, an analysis of health registry data on cardiovascular and respiratory diseases and a short survey on annoyance and risk perception were carried out.

  • Residents in an area where both trains and cars pass through are exposed to not only road traffic noise but also railway noise. Nevertheless, the degree of annoyance the caused to the residents is being under evaluated as the noises have been evaluated separately. Therefore, this study aimed at evaluating the integrated noise of road traffic and railway, and proving the accuracy of the evaluation result.

  • The subjective unwantedness felt from the noise sources in living and office environment has been evaluated by investgating the upper/lower limit of perceptual loudness of the noise. The limits were selected by the subject and the noise sources were analyzed to find out whether there is any correlation with Zwicker parpmeters and ACF fastors. It was found that the loudness of vacuum cleaner noise does not influence its perceived noiseness. Noises implicated in human such as floor walking noise and talking sound, are the most irritating noise in office environment.

  • To suggest the standard of railroad noise and its measures and grasp its status 15 open sites of the Jungang. Taeback and Youngdong line in which the background noise level is very low and the railroad is at grade and 7 urban sites of the Kyungboo and Honam line were selected and the sound level which 373 trains passing through the former and 271 trains passing through the latter emitted was investigated. The community response of railroad noise was surveyed for apartment near wayside. Noise reduction of wall for apartment at the wayside was investigated. The prediction of electric train subway noise is derived for the environment impact assessment.

  • Construction equipment noise has caused much annoyance for a number of dwellers in nearby construction field and has become a very serious issue in our living environment. Therefore, in our country, a practical solution and a better method of reducing construction equipment noise are highly required in construction field. Practical solutions for the construction equipment noise, however, are very difficult because the poorness of basic data and insufficiency of the existing research. Especially, in order to establishment of sound insulation plan about pilings work noise that has highly sound pressure level and impactive, a real situation of sound characteristics about pilings work noise in foundation work demands close investigation. In this point, this study attempts to surveys the characteristics of attenuation and propagation of construction equipment noise in pilings work using SIP(soilcement injected precast pile) method. And this study intends to get the basic data for establishment of a standard about construction noise.

Therefore, in our country, for established of Quite dwelling environment, execute regulation standard of railway noise from January 1, 2000. Efficiency soundproofing measures, however, are very difficult because of the lack of basic data and insufficiency of the existing research. In this point, this study attempts to survey the characteristics of attenuation and propagation of railway noise in by existence of noise barrier. And this study intends to get the basic data for establishment of a standard about railway noise.
