Many of the urban people wish to move to rural area to avoid urban problems like pollution, crowdedness, crime and after their retirement. The purpose of this study was to analyse of adaptation of inmigration in rural community. For this purpose, data were collected from 239 migrations to rural area. The major findings of this study are as follows: 1) 32.0% of respondents wished to move to rural area that they were expected for countryside life, 2) 68.1% of respondents had experience to visit farmer's house 3) 49.5% of respondents agreed to rural community person is good 4) many person of migration to rural area(74.5%) have the idea that they should be active participation for community volunteer work 5) migration people was wanted to take care of them by natives in rural community on the lonely time.

This study carried out an experimental English pronunciation assessment to see the differences in the relationship between the different rater categories. The result shows that i) correlation between Korean and Native American raters is high(r=.98) enough to be considered reliable, ii) previous instructions about assessment rubric and the knowledge about English phonetics and phonology exert little influence on the rating scores, iii) correlation between the automatic ILT(Interactive Language Tutor) rating using speech recognition technology and Natives' rating is stronger than that between ILT and Koreans' rating.

This study investigates pause positions of Korean students' reading of an English script. 12 natives speakers of English and 18 Korean students were asked to read The North Wind and the Sun. The common pause positions were determined by examining the pauses of the native speakers' readings. Korean students were asked to mark pauses on a script. And then they were trained to put pauses as native speakers of English do. Although some errors have been corrected after the training, others have not been corrected in Korean students' readings. Korean students made fewer errors in marking on the script than in reading the script. They seem to know where to put pauses, but lack of practice makes it difficult to put pause in the right positions when they read. That suggests that teachers should continue to teach students where to put pauses in their reading or speaking English.

This study analyzes Korean students' pronunciation errors in stop-nasal sequences in English. For the study, 23 English words of stop-nasal sequences were pronounced by 4 natives and 21 Korean students. The results showed two kinds of pronunciation errors: the insertion of a vowel and the nasal assimilation between stops and nasals. A teaching material was designed based on the errors. After a 60-minute class with the material they were asked to pronounce the same words in another session. There was a substantial improvement in the error correction.

The purpose of this study is to compare learners' view on Korean and native teachers of English with regard to competence of teaching skills. A total of 166 high school students attending the same high school in Korea participated in a questionnaire survey. The students were asked a series of questions about their five Korean teachers of English and three natives. The analysis of the results indicates that the learners believed Korean English teachers would be better in teaching vocabulary, grammar and reading than native English teachers. The learners answered native English teachers would be better in teaching speaking, listening, and writing. In the areas of the accuracy of classroom language, the level of teacher-centeredness, and the amount of cultural information given in a classroom, there were no significant differences in the learners' responses between Korea and native teacher of English. By recognizing the differences of the learners' views on two different types of ELT teachers, we suggest that it would be beneficial for learners if we would utilize their views in designing and administrating a team-teaching program.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the effects of postvocalic consonant cluster (Contrasting nasal-stops consonant with stops) on vowel duration. In particular we focused on the rate of vowel duration in their words. (Experimental I ) and the tendency of unreleased voiceless stops at the end of the words.(Experimental II). The result of experimental I showed that the rate of vowel duration which is preceding single voiceless stops are significantly longer than those preceding nasal-stops counterparts and the percentage of English native speakers was longer than those of Korean leaners of English Experiment II indicated that the tendency of unreleased stop consonants occurred more frequently on single voiceless stops than nasal-stop clusters and Korean learners of English were more frequently produced the unreleased stops than English natives.

The purpose of this study was to develop and succeed local foods such as Yangte miyuck-gook, Getjango-tang, Boongjango-gook, Sook doenjang-gook, Mulmegi-gook and Mukjang-gook in the Namhae region. To derive standardized recipes; first, a test recipe was prepared based on the information obtained from literature material, personal interviews of Namhae natives, and surveys of restaurant recipes through restaurant owners and chefs in the Namhae area. After that, standardized recipes were made in accordance with the collected data. Then, CAN Program 2.0 was used for the nutritional evaluation. Most of these fish soups contained high percentages of protein, minerals and vitamins. Getjango-tang and boongjango-gook were higher than the other foods in most of nutrition contents, which were particularly good sources of calcium and iron.

The aim of this study is to investigate the prosodic aspects of ambiguous sentences in Korean produced by Chinese Korean Learners (L1: Chinese, L2: Korean). In Korean, sentence ambiguity can be caused by homonym or syntactically ambiguous structure. In spoken language however all ambiguity can be resolved by different prosodic features according to the meaning that they transmit. In this study we examined whether Chinese Korean Leaners also distinguish, in production, ambiguous sentences on the basis of prosodic characteristics. For this study 4 Korean natives speakers and 10 advanced Chinese Korean learners participated in the production test. The material analysed constituted 10 Korean sentences in which 6 sentences are lexically ambiguous and 4 sentences contain structural ambiguity. The results show that Korean native speakers produced ambiguous sentences by different prosodic structure depending on their semantic and syntactic structure. Chinese speakers also show distinct prosodic structure for different ambiguous sentences in most cases. But in the phonetic realization, the internal pitch range was greater for Korean native speakers than Chinese learners.

A study of Han River fish assemblage dynamics for 4 years was conducted. From April 2005 to August, 2008, fishes inhabiting two sites of Han River were sampled for identification. For further analysis, 40 individuals of the dominant species were sampled monthly from March 2006 to November 2008. The fish assemblage at site 1 was dominated by Zacco platypus (32.69%), while the subdominant species were Acheilognathus yamatsutae (14.4%), Acanthorhodeus gracilis (9.43%), Squalidus japonicus coreanus (6.84%), and Tridentiger brevispinis (5.18%). The most abundant species at site 2 was Korean Chub (Zacco koreanus) with relative abundance of 62.45% and followed by Pungtungia herzi (10.29%), Coreoperca herzi (8.67%), and Coreoleuciscus splendidus (6.82%) as the subdominant species. At both sites, the endemics populations show an increasing pattern during the whole survey period, while the natives were declining in the last two years.

With regard to the diffusion of mobile Internet service and generational differences for Internet use, this study aims to explore the relationship between the Internet activities and privacy concern based on the media dependency theory. Using the Korea Media Panel data produced by KISDI in 2018, this study analysed 8,988 nation-wide samples to test the difference of Internet use in personal privacy concern among generations. The results of the study showed that there was statistically significant difference for privacy concern among generations. This study has an implication to reveal the phenomenon of 'privacy paradox' by showing that SNS use negatively influenced users' privacy concern.
