  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the integration of environmental education between South and North Korea in preparation for unification. The results of this study are as follows; Firstly, environmental education in North Korea is in the incipient stage as of the environment protection, the prevention of air pollution. It also emphasizes ideology education rather than sustainability. Secondly, the suggestion for the unification and the synthesizing of its environment together with the 3-stages of unification process. It can be presented as a role and function of environmental education in Unified Korea and consciousness and practical effort for the environmental preservation. In conclusions, the result of this study could contribute macro-view on the integration of socio-eco gab between South and North Korea in preparation for unification.

  • In this paper, we propose a technique to analyze similarity between SQL queries and to assist integrating similar tables. First, the table information was extracted from the SQL queries through the query structure analyzer, and the similarity between the tables was measured using the Jacquard index technique. Then, similar table clusters are generated through hierarchical cluster analysis method and the co-occurence probability of the table used in the query is calculated. The possibility of integrating similar tables is classified by using the possibility of co-occurence of similarity table and table, and classifying them into an integrable cluster, a cluster requiring expert review, and a cluster with low integration possibility. This technique analyzes the SQL query in practice and analyse the possibility of table integration independent of the existing business, so that the existing schema can be effectively reconstructed without interruption of work or additional cost.

  • Conceptual and procedural knowledge of integration is necessary not only in calculus but also in real analysis, complex analysis, and differential geometry. However, students show not only focused understanding of procedural knowledge but also limited understanding on conceptual knowledge of integration. So they are good at computation but don't recognize link between several concepts. In particular, Riemann sum is helpful in solving applied problem, but students are poor at understanding structure of Riemann sum. In this study, we try to investigate understanding on conceptual and procedural knowledge of integration and to analyze errors. Conducting experimental class of Riemann sum, we investigate the understanding of Riemann sum structure and so present the implications about improvement of integration teaching.

  • The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning has been widely used in geodesy, surveying, and navigation fields. RTK can benefit enormously from the integration of multi-GNSS. In this study, we develop a GPS/BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) RTK integration algorithm for long baselines ranging from 128 km to 335 km in South Korea. The positioning performance with GPS/BDS RTK, GPS-only RTK, and BDS-only RTK is compared in terms of the positioning accuracy. An improvement of positioning accuracy over long baselines can be found with GPS/BDS RTK compared with that of GPS-only RTK and that of BDS-only RTK. The positioning accuracy of GPS/BDS RTK is better than 2 cm in the horizontal direction and better than 5 cm in the vertical direction. A lower Relative Dilution of Precision (RDOP) value with GPS/BDS integration can obtain a better positional precision for long baseline RTK positioning.

  • In this study, we investigate the unknown time-dependent heat source function in inverse problems. We consider three general nonlocal conditions; two classical boundary conditions and one nonlocal over-determination, condition, these genereate six different cases. The finite integration method (FIM), based on numerical integration, has been adapted to solve PDEs, and we use it to discretize the spatial domain; we use backward differences for the time variable. Since the inverse problem is ill-posed with instability, we apply regularization to reduce the instability. We use the first-order Tikhonov's regularization together with the minimization process to solve the inverse source problem. Test examples in all six cases are presented in order to illustrate the accuracy and stability of the numerical solutions.

  • Various bioinformatics tools for biological data processing have been developed and most of them are available in public. Most bioinformatics works are carried out by a composite application of those tools. Several integration approaches have been proposed for easy use of the tools. This paper proposes a new multiagent system architecture to integrate bioinformatics tools in the perspective of workflow since the composite applications of tools can be regarded as workflows. For the easy integration, the proposed architecture employs wrapper agents for existing tools, uses XML-based messages in the inter-agent communication, and agents are supposed to extract necessary information from the received messages. This allows new tools to be easily added on the integration framework. The proposed method allows various control structures in workflow definition and provides the progress monitoring capability of the on-going workflows. We implemented a prototype system of the proposed architecture for annotating the genes of a bacterium called Sphingomonas Chungbukensis DJ77.

  • It is not easy for users to effectively have information that is semantically related but scattered on the Web. To obtain qualitatively improved information in web pages, it is necessary to integrate information that is heterogeneous but semantically related. In this study, we propose a method that provides XML-based metadata to users through integration of multiple heterogeneous Web pages. The metadata generated from the proposed system is obtained by integrating different heterogeneous information into a single page, using entity identification based on ontology. A wheelchair information integration system for disabled people is implemented to verify the efficiency of the proposed method. The implemented system provides an integrated web page from multiple web pages as a type of XML document.

  • An ad hoc method of deriving three-dimensional elastic Greens solution for displacements is proposed in this study; Instead of direct evaluation of four-dimensional Fourier integral that is usual in spectral approaches, we first derived the expression for particle acceleration using the calculus of residues, and then, derived the expression for particle displacement by direct formal integration with respect to time. As a result, we can detour the disconcertion related to causality due to directly evaluating the integral with respect to angular frequency in conventional spectral approach.

  • Legacy utilities can not adapt to changing business conditions without having complete control of operational systems and a flexible infrastructure that supports change. What is needed is a framework that enables data to be coalesced and transformed in to usable knowledge. This framework should be robust enough to that as new situations arise, information can be shared in ways not previously anticipated. Utility Integration Bus (UIB) provides an integration framework which solves many of these issues while controlling complexity. This paper provides UIB's overview and course.
