This study used path analysis to investigate the effect of home environment and teacher variables on children's musical ability and attitudes. Participants were 235 children, their parents and 13 teachers of kindergartens located in G city in Gyeongbuk Province. Instruments were the Primary Measurement of Music Audiation(Gordon, 1986), the Music Teaching Efficacy Instrument(Riggs & Enochs, 1990), and questionnaires about children's musical attitudes, home environment and music activities. Results showed that teacher variables affected children's musical ability directly and indirectly and children's attitude affected their musical ability directly. Psychological and physical variables of the home environment affected children's musical ability and attitudes positively.

The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of the Orff Approach to music education programs on singing ability, the ability to play musical instruments, physical expression ability, musical improvisation ability as well as overall musical expressiveness in 5 year old children. The test subjects for this study consisted of fifty-eight children. They were arbitrarily assigned to the experimental group of 31 children and the control group of 27 children. The experimental group was engaged using the Orff music education program for a total of 16 sessions, while the control group conducted music activities according to the annual music education plan of M kindergarten. The main results of this study were as follows : The Orff Approach to music education program was effective in improving abilities in the sub-factors of the four kinds of musical expression ability (singing, playing musical instruments, physical expression and musical improvisation) as well as overall musical expressive abilities. These results indicate that the Orff Approach to music education programs can create positive effects in the developing musical expressiveness of young children.

This aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the music appreciation teaching-learning method on the musical ability of young children. The music appreciation activities were developed firstly in consideration of the 4 steps of the learning cycle (recognition, exploration, inquiry, application). One group was then taught music appreciation, taking into account the learning cycle. The results were then compared with another comparative group in terms of musical ability. The results indicated that the musical ability sum of the treatment groups improved more than the comparative group. More specifically, the treatment group for four-year-olds was seen to have improved significantly more than the comparative group in terms of musical ability. These results indicate that this music appreciation teaching-learning method has a number of positive effects upon young children`s musical ability. Therefore, it is suggested that kindergarten teachers conduct instruction with an appropriate accompanying learning cycle as part of the teaching-learning method when it comes to improving the musical ability of young children.

The purpose of this study was to investigate developmental of young children's musical abilityes and musical conservation concepts. Two kinds of test were administered to 117 children aged 5-to 7-year-old. The musical ability test consisted of 30 tape-recorded questions regarding 5 musical ability domains, while the musical conservation test consisted of 17 questions regarding 4 musical conservation concept domains. The major findings of the study were as follows: 1)there was a significant difference in young children's musical abilities according to their sex and age. Girls developed their musical abilities better than boys did. Older children noticeable improved their musical abilities, especially, in such three domains as listening musical and rhythmic activities and playing musical instruments. 2)There was a significant difference in young children's musical conservation concepts according to their age, but not according to their sex. Older children improved musical conservation concepts specifically, in rhythm ,number of notes and duration conservation concepts. 3) the results of stepwise multiple regression analysis indicated that the most influence in variable on the musical conservation concepts was musical ability, then followed by children's age and sex. Some suggestions for future research and for the ways to increase musical abilities were discussed.

본 연구는 전래동요에 기초한 음악놀이활동이 유아의 국악능력과 국악흥미도, 놀이성에 미치는 영향이 어떠한가를 분석해보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 W시에 위치한 어린이집의 만 5세 두 학급의 유아 28명을 선정하여, 실험집단을 대상으로 전래동요에 기초한 음악놀이활동을 적용하였으며, 비교집단에는 가창 중심의 전래동요 지도와 누리과정에 기초한 주제 중심의 음악활동을 적용하였다. 수집된 자료를 토대로 두집단의 사전검사 점수를 공변인으로 한 공변량분석을 실시하였으며 분석결과, 전래동요에 기초한 음악놀이활동이 유아의 국악능력과 국악흥미도, 놀이성을 통계적으로 유의하게 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 연구의 결과는 음악놀이가 전래동요에 내재한 놀이성과 연계되어 국악교육을 위한 효과적인 교수방법으로 적용될 수 있음을 시사한다.

The aim of the study was to investigate whether music drama activity has an affect on literacy, musical ability and physical expression in preschoolers. The subjects of this experiment were 48 five-year-old children who were selected from two kindergarten in geonbook(experimental group : 24, comparison group : 24). The children in experimental group were asked to act four young children's music drama through sixteen weeks. The children in comparison group were involved in activity referred to in storybook. The data gained from the research were analyzed using a SPSS(p=.05) computer program. The main results in this study are as follows : First, there were partly significant differences in young children's music drama activity in terms of rating of literacy. Especially, story understanding as indicated by literacy test scores in the experimental group was significantly different. There were also significant differences in young children's music drama activity in terms of rating of musical ability and physical expression.

본 연구는 30~50개월 사이의 발달지체 유아 3명을 대상으로 그룹리듬연주활동을 실시하여 모방 능력의 변화를 살펴 본 실험연구로 회당 20~25분씩 주3회, 총 20회기 동안 실시하였다. 프로그램은 총 네 단계로 나누어 사회적 음악 놀이(1-3회기), 유아의 악기 연주를 치료사가 모방하기(4-7회기), 치료사의 악기 연주를 유아가 모방하기(8-18회기), 활동의 복습 및 그룹원이 함께 연주하기(19-20)로 진행되었고 각 회기는 비디오로 녹화돼 연구의 조작적 정의에 따라 연구자 외 두 명의 음악치료사가 검토하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 그룹리듬연주에 따라 유아의 모방능력이 점차 향상되었고, 둘째, 그룹리듬연주의 난이도에 따라 유아들은 1박 모방에서 가장 많은 변화를 보였으며, 셋째, 치료사가 유아의 동작과 연주를 모방했던 3-7회기에 대부분의 유아들은 모방능력에 급진적인 변화가 나타나 타인인지능력의 향상과 더불어 모방 능력이 증진하였음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과로 볼 때 그룹리듬연주활동은 유아의 모방능력을 향상시키며, 차후 복잡한 모방능력의 발달 가능성을 시사하고 있다.

본 논문은 멀티미디어 기술을 활용한 ICT 기반 초등학교 가락짓기 교육의 유용성과 타당성을 검증함에 그 목적이 있다. 최근 몇 년 사이 컴퓨터의 급속한 발달과 함께 더불어 눈부신 발전을 보이고 있는 멀티미디어 기술은 음악 교과가 가진 특성과 맞물려 음악 교육의 다양한 문제점을 극복하고 학생의 음악적 기능과 지식의 발달을 충족할 수 있는 새로운 대안이 될 것으로 기대되고 있다. 특히, 많은 초등학교 교사들과 학생들이 교육과 학습 과정에서 어려움을 겪고 있는 가락짓기 교육에 ICT 기반 음악 교육을 도입할 경우 그 교육적 효과가 지대할 것으로 기대되고 있다. 본 논문의 ICT기반 가락짓기 교육 방법은 전통적인 이론 학습과 악기를 활용한 가락짓기 수업의 한계와 문제점을 파악하고 이를 개선하기 위한 방법의 하나로 초등학생에게 컴퓨터 프로그램 사용법을 지도한 후 음악 창작 수업에 이를 적용시킴으로써 전통적인 수업방식에 비해 단시간에 효과를 극대화하고 교과서에서 제시된 수준 이상의 가락짓기 능력을 신장시켰다.

The purpose of this study is to offer a holistic description of the role demanded of costume designers to provide qualitative improvement of costume designs for small- and medium-sized musicals. The study accomplishes this by analyzing the relationship between the play and costume design in musicals and also by examining the process and environments in which costumes of small-sized theater companies' original musicals are produced. The methods of study are empirical research of literature related to dress, stage art, and culture & arts from both domestic and foreign publications; research of visual materials related to plays; and production and analysis of theatrical performances in which the researcher has participated as a costume designer. The results of the study are as follows. First, professionalism of the play and visual perfection of the work may be enhanced by costume designers actively participating in meetings with staff from each field of the play. Second, by taking advantage of the unique aspects of the work environment of small-sized theater companies' small- and medium-sized original musicals, such as harsh situations of regular and periodical meetings with all staff member, the designer may consider the director's intentions and concepts of the play, but should display more creative and autonomous design abilities. Third, because the costume designers of small- and medium-sized original musical plays are given a small budget and short production periods, the ability to systematically manage budget and production periods and the ability to flexibly handle unexpected incidents during the play is essential.

청음이란 어떤 음악을 듣고서 그 음의 높이를 음계적 혹은 화성적으로 측정할 수 있는 능력을 말한다. 본 연구에서는 현대 일상생활의 필수품인 컴퓨터를 이용하여 음악교육에서 가장 중요한 청음연습을 위한 시스템에 대한 고찰을 하고자 한다. 제안하는 시스템은 한글화를 통해 초보자나 아동들이 쉽게 청음 연습을 할 수 있도록 하였고 음악을 전공하는 이들에게도 유익하도록 다양한 기능이 가능하게 하였다. 또한 실질적인 기능의 충실함과 더불어 여러 학습자 등록 기능을 추가하여 다른 사용자와 비교 할 수 있으며 성적을 수치화, 그래프화하여 확인 가능하므로 학습 성취도를 높이도록 하였다. 효과적인 청음연습을 위한 시스템에 대한 본 논문의 제안은 향후 체계적인 청음훈련을 위한 시스템개발에 관한 관심을 높이는데 기여하리라 사료된다.
