A study on the implementation of identification system using facial multi-feature (얼굴의 다중특징을 이용한 인증 시스템 구현)

  • This study will offer multi-feature recognition instead of an using mono-feature to improve the accuracy of recognition. Each Feature can be found by following ways. For a face, the feature is calculated by the principal component analysis with wavelet multiresolution. For a lip, a filter is used to find out on equation to calculate the edges of the lips first. Then the other feature is calculated by the distance ratio of facial parameters. We've sorted backpropagation neural network and experimented with the inputs used above and then based on the experimental results we discuss the advantage and efficiency.

  • 본 논문에서는 메쉬를 편집하는 편집 기술을 위해서 결과 메쉬의 질을 항상시키면서도 다양한 형태로 표현 될 수 있는 편집기를 구현하고 있다. 구현한 편집기에서는 원래 3차원 메쉬가 가지고 있는 모양을 그대로 유지하면서 매핑하기 위해 Floater가 제시한 모양 유지 매개 변수화 방법을 사용한다. 그리고 다단계 B-스플라인 함수를 이용하여 결과 메쉬에 나타날 점들의 새로운 위치를 결정하도록 하며 메쉬의 헝태를 계층적으로 제어하여 다양한 형태를 만들 수 있도록 한다.

  • In this paper, a new hierarchical motion estimation (ME) scheme using the wavelet transformed multi-resolution image layers is proposed. While the coarse-to-fine (CtF) ME, used in previously proposed coding schemes, can provide a better estimate at the coarsest resolution, it is difficult to accurately track motion at finer resolution. On the other hand, in fine-to-coarse (FtC) ME, it can solves this local minima problem by estimating motion track at the finest subband and propagating the motion vector (MV) to coarser subband. But this method causes to higher computational overhead. This paper proposes a new method for reducing the computational overhead of fine-to-coarse rnulti-resolution motion estimation (MRME) at the finest resolution level by searching for the region to consider motion vectors of the coarsest resolution subband.

  • We propose an algorithm for extracting singular points of fingerprint image using directional information. First, we extract the candidates of singular points using Poincare index in two(lower and higher) resolutional directional images. Then we remove the false singular points using smoothing technique from lower resolutional directional image. And finally we select the singular points in higher resolution corresponding to those in lower resolution. The possible missing points in lower resolution are found by computing Poincare index algong the proposed small curve. And the reliable points are selected from analysis around them. We also propose a method for segmentation of fingerprint as preprocessing step to enhance the computational speed and the performance of system.

  • This paper deals with the multiresolution analysis of wavelet transform for partial discharge(PD). Test arrangement is based on the needle-plane electrode system and applied AC high voltage. The measured PD signal was decomposed into "approximations" and "details". The approximation are the high scale, low-frequency components of the PD signal. The details are the low-scale, high frequency components. The decomposition process are iterated to 3 level, with successive approximation being decomposed in turn, so that PD signal is broken down into many lower-resolution components. Through the procedure of signal wavelet transform, signal noise extraction and signal reconstruction, the signal is analyzed to determine the magnitude of PD.

  • Electrogastrography(EGG) has been an attractive method for physiological and pathophysiological studies of the stomach and now is on the verge of becoming a new clinical tool in gastroenterology. In this study 4 channel EGG measurement system was constructed and running spectrum analysis was developed for 2D and 3D display of power spectrum with time and frequency. A wavelet multiresolution method was utilized for elimination of baseline drift and for filtering out noises.

  • The goal of image merging techniques are to enhance the resolution of low-resolution images using the detail information of the high-resolution images. Among the several image merging methods, wavelet-based image merging techniques have the advantages of efficient decorrelation of image bands and time-scale analysis. However, they have no regard for spatial information between the bands. In other words, multiresolution data merging methods merge the same information-the detail information of panchromatic image-with other band images, without considering specific characteristics. Therefore, a merged image contains much unnecessary information. In this paper, we discussed this 'mixing' effect and, proposed a method to classify the detail information of the panchromatic image according to the spatial and spectral characteristics, and to minimize distortion of the merged image.

Face Component Extraction Using Multiresolution Image (다해상도 영상을 이용한 얼굴 구성요소 추출)

  • This paper proposes the method to extract face components without using the color information and the motion information in a gray image. A laplacian pyramid of the original image is built. Eye and nose candidates are extracted using only the gray information in a low resolution laplacian image and pairs are found that consist of two eye candidates and a nose one. At full resolution, horizontal and vortical edges are found in the regions of face components which are established using the candidates. Using those edge informations, face components are extracted. The experiments have been performed for images with various sizes and positions of face, and show very encouraging result.

  • Currently available image fusion methods are not efficient for fusing the Landsat 7 images. Significant color distortion is one of the major problems. In this paper, using the well-known wavelet based method for data fusion between high-resolution panchromatic and low-resolution multispectral satellite images, we performed Landsat 7 image fusion. Based on the experimental results obtained from this study, we analyzed some reasons for color distortion. A new approach using the biorthogonal wavelets based method for data fusion is presented. This new method has reached an optimum fusion result - with the same spectral resolution as the multispectral image and the same spatial resolution as the panchromatic image with minimum artifacts.

  • In this paper an image coding scheme using the correlation of neighboring VQ indices in wavelet domain is proposed. The codewords in each sub-codebook are reordered in ascending order according to their energy in order to inmcrease the dependency of the indices. And the relative dresses of the reordered indices are transmitted to a receiver instead of to absolute addresses. LBG algorithm is used for obtaining a multiresolution codebool and PNN using k-d tress used for generating its initial values. Our experimental results show that the proposed coding scheme outperforms JPEG and an ordinary wavelet-VQ method at low-bit rates in terms of PSNR.
