다중 채널 순서화 기술 기반 효율적인 Soft-Output MIMO 신호검출 기법과 VLSI 구현 (An Efficient Soft-Output MIMO Signal Detection Method Based on Multiple Channel Ordering Technique and Its VLSI Implementation)

  • 본 논문에서는 공간다중화 multiple input multiple output (MIMO) 시스템을 위한 효율적인 soft-output 신호검출 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) 알고리즘을 기반으로 하지만, 오류 전파 문제를 크게 줄임으로써 기존 OSIC 알고리즘에 비해 큰 성능 향상을 보인다. 제안된 기법은 다중 순서화 기술을 이용한 enhanced OSIC (ESIC) 알고리즘을 결합한 기법으로 신뢰도 높은 log likelihood ratio(LLR) 값을 매우 적은 후보 심볼 벡터를 이용하여 생성할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 $4{\times}4$ 16-QAM MIMO 시스템을 위한 OSIC, K-Best 가법과 제안된 신호검출 기법을 $0.13{\mu}m$ CMOS 기술 환경에서 구현하였으며, 모의 시험과 구현 결과를 통해 제안된 신호검출 기법이 성능과 하드웨어 구현 측면에서 매우 효율적임을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, we design the robust controller for MIMO system using multiple fuzzy logic controller. Based on the knowledge of system input/output data, we introduce the simple adaptation laws to approximate the decoupling matrix from input channel to output channel. The proposed control algorithm is applied numerical example.

  • 차세대 무선 통신 시스템에서는 큰 채널 용량 이득을 얻기 위해 다중 송수신 안테나(Multiple Input Multiple Output : MIMO) 시스템을 갖는 공간 다중화(spatial multiplexing) 기술이 사용될 것이다. 다중 송수신 안테나 시스템은 비용과 복잡성을 줄이기 위해 송신 안테나 혹은 수신안테나 중에서 이용 가능한 부집합(subset)의 안테나만을 선택하는 것이 요구될 것이다. 본 논문에서는 다중경로를 가지는 다중 송수신 안테나 시스템에 적합한 안테나 선택 기법을 제안한다. 그리고 제안된 안테나 선택 기법을 사용한 다중 송수신 안테나 시스템의 채널 용량과 사고 확률(outage probability)을 구한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 주파수공간블록부호 (Space Frequency Block Code)를 적용한 다중송수신(Multiple Input Multiple Output)-OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) 시스템을 위한 반복복호 기법을 제시한다. 제시된 반복복호 기법은 zero-forcing 알고리즘과 LDPD 부호화 알고리즘을 터보 기법을 바탕으로 상호보완을 할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 시뮬레이션 결과에 의하면 고차원 변조방식을 적용한 MIMO-OFDM 페이딩 채널에서 기존의 시스템과 비교하여 향상된 성능을 확인하였다.

Maximum Diversity Achieving Decoders in MIMO Decode-and-Forward Relay Systems with Partial CSI

  • We consider multiple-input multiple-output decode-and-forward relay systems in Rayleigh fading channels under the partial channel state information (CSI) that the channel statistics of the source-relay (SR) link and the instantaneous CSI of the source-destination and relay-destination links are known at the destination. In this paper, we propose a new near maximum likelihood (near-ML) decoder with two-level pairwise error probability (near-ML-2PEP) which uses the average PEP instead of the exact PEP. Then, we theoretically prove that the near-ML and near-ML-2PEP decoders achieve the maximum diversity, which is confirmed by Monte Carlo simulations. Moreover, we show that the near-ML-2PEP decoder can also achieve the maximum diversity by substituting the average PEP with the values that represent the error performance of the SR link.

Sum-Rate Capacity with Fairness in Correlated MIMO Broadcast Channels

  • Although the maximum sum-rate capacity of multiple-input multiple output(MIMO) broadcast channels(BCs) can be achieved by dirty-paper coding(DPC), the results were obtained without fairness considerations in uncorrelated MIMO channels. In this paper, we propose new multiuser scheduling algorithms, which find a best user set for approaching the maximum sum-rate capacity while maintaining fairness among users. We analyze the performance of the proposed algorithms using zero-forcing dirty paper coding(ZF-DPC) in the correlated MIMO BCs for throughput and delay fairness, respectively. Numerical results demonstrate that a large time window can reduce the average throughput difference between users, but it increases head-of-line(HOL) delay jitters in the case of delay fairness.

  • 본 논문에서는 다중입출력 (MIMO : multiple-input multiple-output) 시스템에서 순차적 간섭 제거 기반 (SIC : successive interference cancellation) 신호 검출 기법의 성능을 분석한다. 고려되는 신호검출 기법들은 SIC 기법와 LR-SIC 기법이며, 이러한 신호 검출 기법들의 블록오류확률 (BLER; block error ratio) 성능을 나타내는 식을 유도 하고, 모의실험 결과를 통해 유도된 식과 성공적으로 일치함을 확인한다.

DOA-based Beamforming for Multi-Cell Massive MIMO Systems

  • This paper proposes a direction-of-arrival (DOA)-based beamforming approach for multi-cell massive multiple-input multiple-output systems with uniform rectangular arrays (URAs). The proposed approach utilizes the steering vectors of the URA to form a basis of the spatial space and selects the partial space for beamforming according to the DOA information. As a result, the proposed approach is of lower computational complexity than the existing methods which utilize the channel covariance matrices. Moreover, the analysis demonstrates that the proposed approach can eliminate the interference in the limit of infinite number of the URA antennas. Since the proposed approach utilizes the multipaths to enhance the signal rather than discarding them, the proposed approach is of better performance than the existing low-complexity method, which is verified by the simulation results.

  • A novel color clustered optical RGB multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system is presented. As visible light can be divided into three primary regions of red, green and blue, data can be modulated and transmitted separately using these three color clusters. Each color cluster comprised of 30 RGB LEDs is modulated using on-off-keying (OOK), and selection combining is performed at the receiver, producing a diversity effect within that color cluster. The simulations demonstrate that the proposed RGB MIMO VLC system provides high performance via a relatively simple design of MIMO. Moreover, the proposed system ensures sufficient illumination from LEDs and offers extended distance if more LEDs are applied.

Two-Way Relaying-Based Two-Hop Two-User Multiple-Input Multiple-Output System

  • In multi-hop communication systems, two-way relaying is one of the solutions to mitigate the spectral efficiency loss caused by a half-duplex transmission. In this paper, a simple two-way relaying scheme is proposed for two-hop two-user multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems. In the proposed system, a base station and a relay station (RS), both equipped with two antennas, form a point-to-point MIMO channel, while the RS and two single-antenna mobile users form a point-to-multipoint multiuser (MU)-MIMO channel. Numerical examples show that the proposed system achieves a significant sum rate gain as compared to a one-way relaying system as the distance between a relay and the two users decreases. We also show that although we can expand the proposed scheme to more than two users, its performance gain as compared to that of one-way relaying decreases with an increase in the number of users.
