A Study on the Factors Affecting to Service Satisfaction of Intra-city Bus Users (시내버스 이용자의 서비스만족 영향요인에 관한 연구)

  • After enforcing 2007 semi-public management system of intra-city bus, Busan city has tried to promote the bus utilization through bus service improvements. As an effort for this, we attempted to clarify the main factors affecting to bus service satisfaction targeting intra-city bus users. In this study, 20 subcategories of intra-city bus service were assorted into 6 factors: Basic Service, Safe Driving, Route Information, Comfort, Cleanliness and Facilities, then the preference for each detailed bus service were analyzed. And the effects for bus service satisfaction were shown under the various conditions according to the general characteristics of intra-city bus users (gender, age), behavioral traffic characteristics (frequency of use, boarding time) and transportation environments (temperature, rainfall). These results would be important basic data for decision-making in bus policy for climate change and establishment of operating plan for bus utilization.

Analyzing Factors Affecting Public Transit Transfer Volume: Focused on Daegu City (대중교통 환승통행량 영향요인 분석: 대구시를 대상으로)

  • This study attempted to identify the characteristics of transfer trips between subways and buses in Daegu city and to analyze various impact factors that influence the number of transfer trips using a multiple regression analysis. Based on the results, this study aims to propose some policy implications to improve the operation efficiency of a transit center. As a result, it is found that the number of transfer trips is inversely proportional to transfer time, while directly proportional to the number of connected bus routes, subway's spatial location, and bus route connection index. Specifically, it is found that the number of transfer trips are mostly affected by bus route connection index.

  • In DC Power Distribution System(DC PDS), a bus voltage instability is occurred by multiple parallel loads. The Voltage Bus Conditioner(VBC) is used to mitigate the DC bus voltage transient. An adaptive controller of the VBC is designed and the simulation result of the controller is verified by PSIM simulation package for the proposed control technique.

  • Universal Serial Bus (USB) is one of the most popular communication interfaces. When USB is used in more extended range, especially configuring home network by connecting multiple digital devices each other, USB interface uses the bandwidth in the way of Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) so that the bottleneck of bus bandwidth can be brought under the heavy traffic. In this paper, the more effective usage of bus bandwidth to overcome this situation is introduced. Basically, in order to realize the system for transferring real-time moving picture data among digital information devices, we analyze USB transfer types and descriptors and introduce the method to enhance the detailed performance of isochronous transfer that is one of USB transfer types.

  • Token bus protocols have been sidely accepted for Medium Access Control (MAC) in real-time networks such as those used in factory automation, distributed process control, nuclear power plant, aircraft and spacecraft. Token bus protocols provide timer-controlled priority mechanism, which offers multiple level of privilege of medium access to different type of traffic. This paper presents and approximate analytical model for the evaluation of variance of waiting time in the time-controlled proiority scheme of token bus protocols. Token bus system is assumed to be operated with singe-service discipline which is the practical case of real-time networks such as those used in distributed process control and factory automations. The approximate analytical model is validated by comparison with the simulation resuls.

This paper presents an adapt to Train Communication Network for EMU using ProfiBus DP(Decentralized Periphery) method, which is the layer 2 DDLM (Direct Data Link Mapper) protocol of ProfiBus.

Influencing Factors on Health Promoting Lifestyle of Urban Bus Drivers in Small-sized Companies (소규모 시내버스회사 운전기사의 건강증진생활양식 영향요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing health promoting lifestyle of urban bus driver in small-sized companies. Methods: This study included 118 urban bus drivers who completed questionnaires. The data were collected from 6 small-sized bus companies located in a metropolitan city, from January to February 2015. Analyses were done using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. SPSS/Win 18.0 was used. Results: The scores of HPLP of urban bus drivers were 2.7 (on a 4-point scale). Mean of HPLP sub-scores were self-fulfillment ($3.0{\pm}0.5$), interpersonal relationship ($2.9{\pm}0.5$), physical activity ($2.9{\pm}0.7$), health responsibility ($2.7{\pm}0.5$), healthy diet ($2.6{\pm}0.6$), and stress management ($2.5{\pm}0.5$). Among independent variables, job satisfaction and presence of religion were significantly related to health promoting lifestyle (explained 39.2%). Conclusions: This study revealed that there is a need to strengthen job satisfaction for urban bus drivers' health promoting lifestyle.

  • Bus system consists of several masters, slaves, arbiter and decoder in a bus. Master means the processor that performs data command like CPU, DMA, DSP and slave means the memory that responds the data command like SRAM, SDRAM and register. Furthermore, as multiple masters can't use a bus concurrently, arbiter plays an role in bus arbitration. In compliance with the selection of arbitration method bus system performance can be charged definitely. Fixed priority and round-robin are used in general arbitration method and TDMA and Lottery bus methods are proposed currently as the improved arbitration schemes. In this stuff, we proposed the score arbitration method and composed TLM algorithm. Also we analyze the performance compared with general arbitration methods through simulation. In the future, bus arbitration policy will be developed with the basis of the score arbitration method and improve the performance of bus system.

The Effect of Behavior Based Safety Program on Safe Behaviors of Bus Drivers and Passengers: A Field Case Study (행동기반 안전관리(Behavior Based Safety: BBS) 프로그램이 버스 기사 및 승객의 안전행동에 미치는 효과 검증: 현장 사례 연구)

  • This study examined the effect of Behavior Based Safety(BBS) program on safe behaviors of bus drivers and passengers. Four male bus drivers working at a H transportation company situated in Seoul participated in this study. BBS program consisted of education, prompts, and self-monitoring with goal setting. Dependent variables were the percentage of two safe driving behaviors of bus drivers (departure after stopping for 3 seconds, announcement for holding bus handles) and the percentage of one safe behavior of passengers getting on the busses those drivers drove (holding bus handles). A primary observer and two trained assistant observers measured two safe behaviors of the bus drivers with behavior checklists by riding on the busses and the passengers' safe behavior was observed by CCTV installed on each bus. An ABC multiple baseline design across participants was adopted. After baseline(A), education and prompts(B) and self-monitoring with goal setting(C) were introduced sequentially to each participant. The results showed that BBS program was effective to increase both bus drivers' and passengers' safe behaviors. Especially self-monitoring with goal setting was more effective in improving safe behaviors of bus drivers than education/prompts. These results suggest that education/prompts and self-monitoring with goal setting would be an alternative treatment technique to improve safety for lone workers such as bus drivers.

Design of Crossbar Switch On-chip Bus for Performance Improvement of SoC (SoC의 성능 향상을 위한 크로스바 스위치 온칩 버스 설계)

  • Most of the existing SoCs have shared bus architecture which always has a bottleneck state. The more IPs are in an SOC, the less performance it is of the SOC, Therefore, its performance is effected by the entire communication rather than CPU speed. In this paper, we propose cross-bar switch bus architecture for the reduction of the bottleneck state and the improvement of the performance. The cross-bar switch bus supports up to 8 masters and 16 slaves and parallel communication with architecture of multiple channel bus. Each slave has an arbiter which stores priority information about masters. So, it prevents only one master occupying one slave and supports efficient communication. We compared WISHBONE on-chip shared bus architecture with crossbar switch bus architecture of the SOC platform, which consists of an OpenRISC processor, a VGA/LCD controller, an AC97 controller, a debug interface, a memory interface, and the performance improved by 26.58% than the previous shared bus.
