In-plane and out-of-plane bending moments and local stresses in mooring chain links using machine learning technique

  • This paper proposes an efficient approach based on a machine learning technique to predict the local stresses on mooring chain links. Three-link and multi-link finite element analyses were conducted for a target chain link of D107 with steel grade R4; 24,000 and 8000 analyses were performed, respectively. Two serial Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models based on a deep multi-layer perceptron technique were developed. The first ANN model corresponds to multi-link analyses, where the input neurons were the tension force and angle and the output neurons were the interlink angles. The second ANN model corresponds to the three-link analyses with the input neurons of the tension force, interlink angle, and the local stress positions, and the output neurons of the local stress. The predicted local stresses for the untrained cases were reliable compared to the numerical simulation results.

  • Recently, Switching devices become cheaper, depending on the multi-level inverters are considered as the power-conversion systems for high-power and power-quality demanding applications. The multi-level inverters can reduce the THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) as the output which is similar sinusoidal waveform by synthesizing several capacitor DC voltages. However it has some disadvantages such as increased number of components, complex PWM control method. Therefore, this paper is proposed the new multi-level inverter topology using an new H-bridge output stage with a bidirectional auxiliary switch. The proposed topology is the 4-level 3-phase PWM inverter with less switching part than conventional multi-level inverters and reactive power control possible. In order to understand the new multi-level inverter, topology analysis and switching patterns and modes according to the current loop are described in this paper. The proposed multi-level inverter topology is validated through PSIM simulation and the experimental results are provided from a prototype.

  • 시간에 따라 변하지 않는 선형 다변수 시스템의 출력 궤환 제어를 이산시간계에서 최적화 하기 위한 필요 조건을 유도했다. Quadratic performance index를 사용했다. 결과는 출력의 비례적분 궤환의 최적이득을 구하는 데에도 쉽게 적용할 수 있다. 예제를 들어 최적 궤환이 득을 구했다.

Analysis and Design of a Multi-resonant Converter with a Wide Output Voltage Range for EV Charger Applications

  • This paper illustrates the analysis and design of a multi-resonant converter applied to an electric vehicle (EV) charger. Thanks to the notch resonant characteristic, the multi-resonant converter achieve soft switching and operate with a narrowed switching frequency range even with a wide output voltage range. These advantages make it suitable for battery charging applications. With two more resonant elements, the design of the chosen converter is more complex than the conventional LLC resonant converter. However, there is not a distinct design outline for the multi-resonant converters in existing articles. According to the analysis in this paper, the normalized notch frequency $f_{r2n}$ and the second series resonant frequency $f_{r3n}$ are more sensitive to the notch capacitor ratio q than the notch inductor ratio k. Then resonant capacitors should be well-designed before the other resonant elements. The peak gain of the converter depends mainly on the magnetizing inductor ratio $L_n$ and the normalized load Q. And it requires a smaller $L_n$ and Q to provide a sufficient voltage gain $M_{max}$ at ($V_{o\_max}$, $P_{o\_max}$). However, the primary current increases with $(L_nQ)^{-1}$, and results in a low efficiency. Then a detailed design procedure for the multi-resonant converter has been provided. A 3.3kW prototype with an output voltage range of 50V to 500V dc and a peak efficiency of 97.3 % is built to verify the design and effectiveness of the converter.

  • In this paper, we proposed a novel current-fed DC-DC converter with multi-output. It has two winding reactor in series with the input source of the converter. By using the 2nd winding recycling the energy stored in the reactor to the input, the double-outputs DC-DC converter can be created, which makes it a good choice for a multi-output power supply with more outputs and has savings in cost and space. The steady state and dynamic characteristics of the converter are analyzed in detail by using the state space averaging method. It is found that the maximum value of $V_{o2}$ exists in the 2nd output and also during the MOSFET off period, the energy stored in the magnetizing inductance is reset through auxiliary winding $N_3$, so the duty cycle is restricted to 50%. Theoretical and experimental results were taken from the converter rated at switching frequency 50kHz. input voltage 50V. output voltage 5V. 12V and output power 65W. As a result, both results were well consistent. Therefore, it is varified the validity of the proposed converter in this paper.

  • 불확실한 비선형 다중입출력 시스템에 대해서 신경회로망을 이용한 적응출력피드백제어기법이 제안되었다. 역변환 기반의 제어입력으로부터 불확실한 비선형성을 분리하기 위해 변형된 운동 역변환 모델(Modified Dynamic Inversion Model, MDIM)이 도입되었다. MDIM은 근사된 운동 역변환 모델과 역변환 모델 오차로 구성되었고 한 개의 신경회로망이 MDIM을 보상하는데 적용되었다. 여기서 신경회로망의 출력은 필터링된 근사오차 기반의 제어기를 증대시킨다. 추적성능과 종국적 유계성(ultimate boundedness)을 보장하기 위해 리야프노프의 직접방법(Lyapunov's direct method)으로부터 유도된 온라인 가중치 적응법칙이 이용되었다. 수치적 시뮬레이션을 통해 본 논문의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • The author present a modified multi-loop algorithm including feedforward for controlling a 55kW step down chopper in the power supply of Maglev. The control law for the duty cycle consists of three terms. The first is the feedforward term which compensates for variations in the input voltage. The second term consists of the difference between the slowly moving inductor current and output current. The third term consists of proportional and integral terms involving the perturbation in the output voltage. This perturvation is derived by subtracting the desired output voltage from the actual output voltage. The proportional and integral action stabilizes the system and minimizes output voltage error. In order to verify the validity of the proposed multi-loop controller, simulation study was tried using Matlab simulink.

Nonlinear Excitation Control Design of Generator Based on Multi-objective Feedback

  • In order to realize the multi-objective control of single-input multi-output nonlinear differential algebraic system (NDAS) and to improve the dynamic characteristics and static accuracy, a design method of nonlinear control with multi-objective feedback (NCMOF) is proposed, the principium of this method to arrange system poles, as well as its nature to coordinate dynamic characteristics and static accuracy of the system are analyzed in detail. Through NCMOF design method, the multi-objective control of the system is transformed into linear space, and then it is effectively controlled under the nonlinear feedback control law, the problem to balance all control objectives caused by less input and more output of the system thus is solved. Applying NCMOF design method to generator excitation system, the nonlinear excitation control law with terminal voltage, active power and rotor speed as objective outputs is designed. Simulation results show that NCMOF can not only improve the dynamic characteristics of generator, but also damp the mechanical oscillation of a generator in transient process. Moreover, NCMOF can control the terminal voltage of the generator to the setting value with no static error under typical disturbances.

시간지연 MIMO 비선형시스템의 MAC 제어기 설계 (MAC for MIMO Nonlinear System with Delayed Input)

  • 본 논문에서는 입력에 시간 지연이 존재하는 비선형 다중입출력(multi-input/multi-output (MIMO)) 시스템을 위한 디지털 제어기를 제안하였다. 다중 입력 시간 지연 비선형 시스템을 테일러의 추산 방법으로 이산화하고, 이 이산형 시스템을 일반적인 비선형 시스템으로 변환할 수 있다. 결과적으로, 일반 비선형 제어기를 이산형 시간 지연 시스템에 적용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 MAC 제어기를 설계하고 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 실시하여 제안된 방법의 성능을 검증하였다. 시뮬레이션의 결과 제안된 제어기는 비선형 다중입력 다중 시스템에 있어서 입력에 시간지연이 발생하더라도 시스템의 성능을 유지함을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 제안된 방법은 비선형 시간 지연 시스템의 제어에 유용함을 알 수 있다.
