  • In this research an induction motor vector control system was developed using Simulink and RTW(Real Time Workshop). On the Simulink window, control system is designed in the form of block diagrams, program codes are produced automatically with the RTW, then c compiler compiles the program codes. With this automatic real time program producing mechanism rapid prototyping is realized without the time-consuming manual program coding procedures. To show effectiveness of the proposed designing scheme a DSP-based induction motor vector control system was constructed and implemented

  • This article describes the useful way to measure the torque and RPM of the geared motor. For this we have made the planetary geared reduction motor including 2 Hall sensors in it and the monitoring system. The monitoring system displays the sensing values (torque, rpm) and the calculated value (power) and it also has the network capability using the Bluetooth protocol. We will show that our solution is much more inexpensive and simple method to measure torque and rpm than before.

  • In this paper, design considerations and manufacturing procedure of 200 class insulation system with polyimide(Kapton) main insulation and silicone resin VPI process on the traction motor thor EMU will be reviewed.   • Time switch is widely used to reduce the energy loss by selecting the duration of daily-based operating pattern for the electrical apparatus. Driving force of the time switch is the single-phase step motor which has the starting torque due to the asymmetrical airgap. Cogging and total torque of the tapered-airgap motor is analyzed by finite element method.

  • The new hybrid scheme for electric bus is presented in this paper. This system is composed of a three-phase AC induction motor, one inveter and one system controller. The motor can be acted as starter, motor itself, alternator, generator and retarder. Various functions are simulated. The design stage has been finished. And the various experimental tests are undertaken now.

  • The construction of a Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) is simple and also highly economical because a stator from the existing AC motor can be used. Since the synchronous inductance in the Synchronous Reluctance Motor is an element that is proportional to torque, its exact value must be experimentally or analytically found for accurate control and performance development of the motor. In this paper, direct torque control (DTC) simulation is carried out to maximize the torque of the Synchronous Reluctance Motor and the fast response characteristics with the inductance value by the Finite Element Method (FEM). The response characteristics are compared through the proposed direct torque control and torque response characteristics that are based on the existing PI Control in order to confirm the fast response features. To test the performance of the direct torque controller, the torque response is analyzed with variable speed and load condition.

  • Recently, it is increased to apply sensorless drive for BLDC (Brushless DC) motor to maximize operating efficiency and fuel efficiency to an electrical component of (H)EV. Especially, Electric vehicle component promotes a fuel efficiency enhancement by the carbon dioxide emissions regulation of a vehicle becoming the principal of the environmental pollution globally, the oil price hike that continued increasingly. We suggested the air compressor which applied BLDC motor for electric vehicle component and compared suggested BLDC motor with the conventional DC motor. The experimental results show that the driving efficiency was increased and was inproved compressive force by suggested BLDC motor.

  • The conventional motor in a crane has a tan generator to feed back the number of turns. The tan generator is contacted to a motor shaft through the coupling. Don has been often generated because the coupling has worn out while the motor is turning. In this paper, we design the speed-measurement device of motor in a un. The device is composed of PIC16F84 controller, photo-sensor, and analog-to digital converter. The photo sensor measures the turn of a motor without contact so the device decreases the probability of errors. And The device can acknowledge the turn direction of the motor with a gin81e senor and two color reflectors.

Microstep Stepper Motor Control Based on FPGA Hardware Implementation

  • This paper proposes a design of stepper motor control in microstep driven mode using FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) for hardware implementation. The methods to drive stepper motor in microstep excitation mode are to control of the controlling currents in each phase windings of stepper motor with reference signals. These reference signals are used for controlling the current levels, the required variation of current levels with rotor position can be obtained from the ideal linear or sinusoidal approximations to the static torque-displacement ($T-{\theta}$) characteristic curve. In addition, the hardware implementation of stepper motor controller can be designed uses VHDL (Very high speed integrated circuits Hardware Description Language) and synthesis using an Altera FPGA, FLEX10K family, EPF10K20RC240-4 device as target technology and use MAX+PlusII program for overall development. A multi-stack variable-reluctance stepper motor of Sanyo Denki is used in the experiments.
