Relaxed Static Stability(RSS) concept has been applied to improve aerodynamic performance of modern version supersonic jet fighter aircraft. Therefore, the flight control systems are necessary to stabilizes the unstable aircraft and provides adequate handling qualities. The initial production flight control system are verified by flight test and it's always an elements of danger because of flight-critical nature of control law function and design error due to model base design method. These critical issues impact to flight safety, and it could be lead to a loss of aircraft and pilot's life. Therefore, development of an easily modifiable RFCS(Research Flight Control System) capable of reverting to a PFCS(Primary Flight Control System) of reliable control law must be developed to guarantee the flight safety. This paper addresses the concept of SSWM(Software Switching Mechanism) using the fader logic such as TFS(Transient Free Switch) based on T-50 flight control law. The result of the analysis based on non-real time simulation in-house software using SSWM reveals that the flight control system are switching between two computers without any problem.
A numerical formula that presents relationship between a point of a satellite image and its ground position is called a sensor model. For precise geolocation of satellite images, we need an error-free sensor model. However, the sensor model based on GOES ephemeris data has some error, in particular after Image Motion Compensation (IMC) mechanism has been turned off. To solve this problem, we investigate three sensor models: Collinearity model, Direct Linear Transform (DLT) model and Orbit-based model. We apply matching between GOES images and global coastline database and use successful results as control points. With control points we improve the initial image geolocation accuracy using the three models. We compare results from three sensor models that are applied to GOES-9 images. As a result, a suitable sensor model for precise geolocation of GOES-9 images is proposed.
A shared compliant control scheme based on IMC is proposed for the position-force force reflecting control system. The controller of the slave manipulator is designed by IMC method for the open loop unstable plant. The compliant control is implemented by first order low pass filter. In the proposed scheme, the slave manipulator well tracks the position of the master manipulator in free space and the compliance of the slave manipulator is autonomously controlled in contact condition. The simulation results show that the excellence of the proposed controller.
An error analysis of PPP (Precise Point Positioning) using IF (Ionosphere Free) combination is given in this paper. It is shown that the performance of the ordinary model with positions, clock bias, integer ambiguities and ionosphere delay as unknowns is equivalent to that of an ionosphere difference combination where ionosphere delay is cancelled out. Furthermore, it is shown that IF combination is an ionosphere difference combination but not unique. It is also proved that all difference models show same performances. The error analysis evaluated with a hardware simulator and real measurements show that the ionosphere delay is effectively eliminated by IF combination or equivalently by the ionosphere difference combination. However, if bias errors such as troposphere, clock bias or multipath are included in the measurements, the performance of the IF combination is degraded because the bias errors are amplified by the ionosphere difference operation.
A broomstick swinging biped acrobatic controller is designed and simulated to show capability of the system of controllers: virtual model controller is employed for the robot\`s posture balancing control while a higher level fuzzy controller modulate the one of the virtual model controller\`s parameter for the pendulum swinging motion generation. The robot is of 7 degree-of-freedom, 8-link planar bipedal robot having two slim legs and a body. Each leg consists of a hip joint, a knee joint, an ankle joint and the body has a free joint at the top in the head at which a freely rotating broomstick is attached. We assume that the goal for the acrobat robot is to maintain a body balance in the sagittal plane while swinging up the freely up the freely rotating pendulum. We also assume that the actuators in the joints are all ideal torque generators. The proposed system of controllers satisfies the goal and the simulation results are presented.
In this paper, the transonic aeroelastic behavior of the generic fighter model is investigated in the time domain. The simulation of flutter flight test using forced harmonic motion of control surfaces including inertial coupling effects is conducted at the various conditions. The nonlinear aerodynamic effects are considered using a transonic small disturbance equation. A modal model obtained by a free vibration analysis is used for the structural model. The relations between the computed flutter boundary and the simulation results of the responses using the harmonic motions of control surfaces at various conditions are investigated.
In this paper, sliding mode control (SMC) is designed and applied to an elastic structure to suppress some of its vibration modes. The system is an elastic beam clamped on one end and the designed controller uses only the deflection measurement of the free end. The infinite dimensional mathematical model of the beam is reduced to an ordinary differential equation set to represent the behavior of required modes. Since the states of the finite dimensional model are not physically measurable quantities, an observer is designed to estimate these states by measuring the tip deflection of the beam. The performance of the observer is important because the observed states are used in the SMC design. In this study, by using the output information, an observer is designed and tested to estimate the states of the finite dimensional model of the beam. Then the designed SMC is applied to the experimental beam system which gives satisfactory suppressed vibrations.
This work deals with an intuitive method for a planar biped to walk, which is named Relative Trajectory Control (RTC) method. A key feature of the proposed RTC method is that feet of the robot are controlled to track a given trajectory, which is specially designed relative to the base body of the robot. The trajectory of feet is presumed from analysis of the walking motion of a human being. A simple method to maintain a stable posture while the robot is walking is also introduced in RTC method. In this work, the biped is modeled as a free-floating robot, of which dynamic model is obtained in the Cartesian space. Using the obtained dynamic model, the robot is controlled by a model-based feedback control scheme. The author shows a preliminary experimental result to verify that the biped robot with RTC method can walk on the even or uneven surfaces.
In this paper, the dynamic modeling and tip position of rotating Timoshenko beam analyzed by means of FEM (finite element method) and Hyperstability MRAC(model referenced adaptive control) technique of each other. The governing equations of the rotating beams are drived from Hamilton's principle. The dynamic model of this multi-link is drived by Lagrange approach. The shear deformation and rotary inertia are incorporated into a finite element model for determining the bending frequencies of the rotating beam. Simulation results for uniform cantilever beams by using the MRAC are compared with the available results. It will be shown that the proposed method offers an accurate and effective one to solve the free vibration problems of rotating beams' stability.
