  • Structural modification in the electrical cabinet is investigated by a proposed procedure that comprises of an experimental, analytical and numerical solution. This research emphasizes the linear dynamic analysis of the cabinet that is studied under the seismic excitation to demonstrate the real behavior of the cabinets in NPP. To this end, an actual electric cabinet is experimentally tested using an impact hammer test which reveals the fundamental parameters of the cabinet. The Frequency-domain decomposition (FDD) method is used to extract the dynamic properties of the cabinet from the experiment which is then used for numerical modeling. To validate the dynamic properties of the cabinet an analytical solution is suggested. The calibrated model is analyzed under the floor response obtained from the Connecticut nuclear power plant structure excited by Tabas 1978 (Mw 7.4) earthquake. Eventually, the grouping effect of the cabinets is proposed which represents the influence on the dynamic modification. This grouping of the cabinets is described more sophisticatedly by the theoretical understating, which results in a significant change in the seismic response. Considering the grouping effects will be helpful in the assessment of the real seismic behavior, design, and performance of cabinets.

  • Recently, Thin-film transistors (TFTs) are fundamental building blocks for state-of-the-art microelectronics, such as flat-panel displays and system-on-glass. Zinc oxide thin films have the advantage that they can grow at low temperature and can obtain high charge movility. Also the zinc oxide thin film can be used to control the resistance according to the oxygen content, so it is very easy to obtain the desired physical properties. In this paper, we fabricated a zinc oxide thin film on a polished copper substrate through a solution process, then improved the crystallinity through a geat treatment porcess, and studied to transfer it on a flexible substrate after the heat treatment was completed.

  • The denser and higher speed telecommunication systems get, the more electromagnetic waves and more heat they throw off. With power predictions lastly for the upcoming systems, they need the enforced method to optimize the technologies between shielding effectiveness and cooling characteristics. In the present study, the shielding effectiveness and cooling characteristics for en- closures with multiapertures considered as fundamental solution in telecommunication systems are performed both of experimentally and unmerically. The shielding effectiveness measured from ex- perimental work is compared with both of the analytical data for flat plates with multi-apertures and the cooling characteristics by the numerical solution. As results, the most significant influence on the shielding effectiveness of enclosures is determined by the porosities of apertures, and it is found that shielding effectiveness and cooling capabilities are significant varied, reciprocally,at which porosity is more than 80%.

  • For the problem that the complexity of 3-D modeling and multi parameter optimization, as well as the uncertainty of the winding factor of axial flux permanent magnet generator with coreless windings. The complex 3-D model was simplified into 2-D analytic model, and an analytical formula for the winding factor that adapting different coreless stator winding is proposed in this paper. The analytical solution for air-gap magnetic fields, no-load back EMF, electromagnetic torque, and efficiency are calculated by using this method. The multiple objective and multivariable optimization of the maximum fundamental and the minimum harmonic content of back EMF are performed by using response surface methodology. The proposed optimum design method was applied to make a generator. The generator was tested and the calculated results are compared with the proposed method, which show good agreements.

  • Effective computational strategies have been proposed in the evaluation of stiffness matrices of rigid-plastic finite element method widely used in simulation of metal forming processes. The stiffness matrices are expressed as the sum of stiffness matrices evaluated by reduced integration and Liu's stabilization matrices which control the occurrence os zero-energy mode due to excessive reduced integration. The proposed method has been applied to the solution of fundamental 3-dimensional problems. The results clarified that the deformed mesh configuration was remarkably stabilized and computation speed attained about 3 times as fast as that of conventional 3-dimensional analyses. Furthermore, computation speed increases by a factor 60 when parallel computation is introduced. This speed has a tendency to increase as the total degree of freedom increases. As a result, this rigid-plastic finite element method enables us to analyze real 3-dimensional forming processes with practically acceptable computation time.

  • This study aims to elucidate the mechanism involved in the hydrolysis of the hexacyanoferrate(III) complex ion (Fe(CN)63-) and the mechanism leading to the formation of Prussian blue (FeIII4[FeII(CN)6]3·xH2O, PB) in acidic aqueous solutions at moderately elevated temperatures. Hydrolysis constitutes a crucial step in generating PB through the widely used single-source or precursor method. Recent PB syntheses predominantly rely on the single-source method, where hexacyanoferrate(II/III) is the exclusive reactant, as opposed to the co-precipitation method employing bare metal ions and hexacyanometalate ions. Despite the widespread adoption of the single-source method, mechanistic exploration remains largely unexplored and speculative. Utilizing UV-vis spectrophotometry, negative-ion mode liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS), and a devised reaction, this study identifies crucial intermediates, including aqueous Fe2+/3+ ions and hydrocyanic acid (HCN) in the solution. These two intermediates eventually combine to form thermodynamically stable PB. The findings presented in this research significantly contribute to understanding the fundamental mechanism underlying the acid-catalyzed hydrolysis of the hexacyanoferrate(III) complex ion and the subsequent formation of PB, as proposed in the sequential mechanism introduced herein. This finding might contribute to the cost-effective synthesis of PB by incorporating diverse metal ions and potassium cyanide.

  • Constructing large-scale mat foundation mass concrete is increasing for the stability of building structure, because a lot of high rise building are being built in order to make full use of limited space. However, It is of increasing concerns that because limited placing equipments, available job-site and systems for mass concete placement in construction field do not allow to place great quantity of concrete at the same time in large scale mat foundation, consistency between placement lift can not be secured. And also, it is likely to crack due to stress caused by the difference of hydration heat generation time. To find out the solution against above problems, this study is to reconfirm the performance of normal concrete designed by mix proportion and super retarding concrete. The Fundamental test shows what happens if low heat proportioning and control method of setting time are applied at the job-site of newly constructed high rise building. The test result show that slump flow of concrete has been somewhat increased as the target retarding time gets longer, while the air content has been slightly decreased but this is no great difference from normal concrete. The setting time shows to be retarded as target retarding time gets longer, the range of retarding time increases. It is necessary to increase the amount of mix of super retarding agent in the proportion ration by setting curing temperature high since outdoor curing is about 6 hours faster than standard curing, which means the temperature of the concrete will be higher than the temperature of the surrounding environment, due to its high hydration heat when applying in a construction site. The compressive strength of super retarding concrete appears to be lower than normal concrete due to the retarding action in the early stage. However, as the time goes by, the compressive strength gets higher, and by the 28th day the strength becomes the same or higher than normal concrete.

  • In the current research paper, a quasi-3D beam theory is developed for free vibration analysis of functionally graded microbeams. The volume fractions of metal and ceramic are assumed to be distributed through a beam thickness by three functions, power function, symmetric power function and sigmoid law distribution. The modified coupled stress theory is used to incorporate size dependency of micobeam. The equation of motion is derived by using Hamilton's principle, however, Navier type solution method is used to obtain frequencies. Numerical results show the effects of the function distribution, power index and material scale parameter on fundamental frequencies of microbeams. This model provides designers with guidance to select the proper distributions and functions.

  • This paper deals with a fundamental and classical scattering problem by a finite strip. For the analysis of scattered acoustic field, a “single” integral equation is derived. Firstly, the complexity by considering the effect of the mean flow is alleviated by the introduction of Prandtl-Glauert coordinate and the new dependent variable. Secondly, the difficulty of solving the resultant strongly-coupled integral equations which always appear in this kind of 3-part mixed boundary value problem is solved by observing some good properties of the functions in complex domain and manipulating the equations and variables for the use of those properties. The solution can be obtained asymptotically in terms of gamma function and Whittaker function. One aim of this study is the improvement of methodology for the research using integral equations. The other is the basic understanding of scattering by a finite strip related to the linear cascade model of rotating fan blades.

  • Artificial intelligence has emerged as the core of the 4th industrial revolution, and large amounts of data processing, such as big data technology and rapid data analysis, are inevitable. The most fundamental and universal data interpretation technique is an analysis of information through regression, which is also the basis of machine learning. Ridge regression is a technique of regression that decreases sensitivity to unique or outlier information. The time-consuming calculation portion of the matrix computation, however, basically includes the introduction of an inverse matrix. As the size of the matrix expands, the matrix solution method becomes a major challenge. In this paper, a new algorithm is introduced to enhance the speed of ridge regression estimator calculation through series expansion and computation recycle without adopting an inverse matrix in the calculation process or other factorization methods. In addition, the performances of the proposed algorithm and the existing algorithm were compared according to the matrix size. Overall, excellent speed-up of the proposed algorithm with good accuracy was demonstrated.
