SNS를 이용하는 대학생의 정신적 웰빙과 스트레스 대처방식 (Mental Health Level and Ways of Coping in Undergraduate Students using SNS)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify mental health level, way of stress coping and its influencing factors among undergraduate students using SNS. Data were collected using Korean Mental Health Continuum Short Form scale, and the ways of coping checklist modified from 301 undergraduate students in 4 universities in Busan and through online, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2$ test, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficients with SPSS/WIN 21.0. On average, mental health level was 35.6 out of 70 points, and the students using SNS use more active coping than passive coping as way of stress coping. The factors showed significant relationships with mental health were gender, and number of person contacted on offline within online counterparts, and with problem-focused coping were gender, preferred types of SNS, period of use, and hours per day on SNS, with social support seeking were preferred types of SNS, hours per day on SNS, and number of online counterparts, with emotion-focused coping were grade, instruments types for using SNS, and hours per day on SNS and with wishful thought were instruments types for using SNS, and hours per day on SNS. There was a positive correlation between mental health and stress coping type. Based on the results, future research needs to develop positive SNS usage strategies to improve the mental well-being and ways of coping in undergraduate students.

이주노동자의 레질리언스와 정신건강 (Resilience and Mental Health among Migrant Workers in Busan, Korea)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between resilience of migrant workers and their mental health for improving their quality of life and adaptation in Korean society. Methods: Data were collected from March 21 to May 7, 2011. The participants included 488 migrant workers who lived in Busan Metropolitan City or Gyoungnam province. Results: First, heavy working burdens and lack of rests, low wages, poor living environments, low economic status & deficiency of living necessities, hard physical labors, and conflicts with Korean workers had negative effects on mental health. Second, high perceived stress caused by usual 'living difficulties', high 'cutural shock', high feeling of 'social isolation', and high discomfort from 'lack of Korean language proficiency' gave negative effects on migrant worker's mental health. Third, the most important factor on the mental health was the 'cultural shock' among stressors. Even though many stressors existed among migrant workers, these negative effects on mental health were lessened by their high resilience level. Conclusions: This study highlights the importance of migrant workers in Busan, Korea. To improve their mental health, social support including financial supports and educational programs that foster resilience needed.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the psychosocial work environment of hospital nurses to identify influences of psychosocial work environment on stress, depression, sleep disorder, and burnout. Methods: A total of 219 nurses working in one hospital were surveyed by using the Korean version of the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ-K) mental health and psychosocial work environment. The impact of the psychosocial work environment on mental health was analyzed using multiple regression. Results: Mental health variables are correlated with each other. The psychosocial work environment variables and mental health variables are mostly correlated. To assess the psychosocial work environment that affects mental health the most, multiple regression was used. Work-family conflict was the most powerful explanation of all the mental health variables. Work pace, social community at work, mutual trust among employees, predictability, and influence were found to be affecting some mental health variables. Conclusion: To improve the mental health of nurses, it is necessary to consider work pace, social community at work, mutual trust among employees, predictability, influence focus on work-family conflict.

전문대학생 정신건강의 영향 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Effectiveness Factors for Mental Health : Focus on College Students)

  • Objective : The objective of this study is to analyze various factors of how mental health, self esteem, and stress affect health living conditions aimed at college students who have a low level of self-awareness. This study can provide college students the vitality lifestyle by developing and applying customized healthy living program. Furthermore, it can benefit preventing disease and improving health condition. Method : This study is aimed at college students in Daegu. The research subjects' distributions consist of male of 138 and female of 144, which totaled 282. The collected data was analyzed by SPSS 18.0, statistical program.4 Results : The result of the study indicated that the main factors that affect self esteem, stress, and mental health condition are allowance and part time jobs. It shows that health characteristic doesn't have relationship with self esteem. However, stress are mental health have a close relationship with drinking, health conditions, sleeping hours, and exercise. Conclusion : College Students should manage and lead healthy living style as a role model of family and society; as a result, healthy living style in the college becomes very important time period in the life time. Therefore, college students need to improve self esteem and reduce stress in order to benefit their mental health. College faculty members also need to put an effort on educational health programs regarding the practice of healthy life such as campaign for antismoking, moderating in drink, and exercising.

스마트폰중독 위험군 대학생의 대인관계문제, 스트레스 대처방식, 정신건강의 구조모형분석 (A study on the Structural Equation Modeling of Interpersonal problem, Stress coping strategy, Mental health of University students at risk of Smartphone addiction)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 구조방정식모형을 활용하여 스마트폰중독 위험군 대학생의 대인관계문제, 스트레스대처방식, 정신건강의 관계를 분석하는 것이다. 연구 결과, 대인관계문제는 정신건강의 심각성을 악화시키는 직접적 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 스트레스대처전략은 대인관계문제와 정신건강 사이의 영향관계에서 부분 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났고, 소극적 대처는 위험요인, 적극적 대처는 보호요인으로 분석되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 스마트폰중독 위험군 대학생의 정신건강 증진을 위한 다양한 실천적 정책적 개입전략을 제시하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 지각된 스트레스, 스트레스 대처, 완벽주의, 자아존중감이 대학생의 정신건강에 미치는 영향에 대해 살펴봄으로써 이들의 정신건강 증진을 위한 방법을 모색하고자 하였다. K도의 3개 대학에 재학 중인 209명의 남녀 대학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시한 후 SPSS 18.0을 이용하여 빈도, 피어슨 상관관계, 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 대학생의 정신건강은 지각된 스트레스, 과업중심 및 정서중심 스트레스 대처, 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의, 자아존중감과 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 한 대학생의 정신건강 증진을 위해 대학생의 사회성을 강화하고, 신체활동증진 및 자아존중감 증진을 위한 다학제적 교육프로그램 개발이 필요하다고 판단된다.

대학생활스트레스와 정신건강의 영향관계에 대한 사상체질 간 다집단 분석 (A study on the multi-group analysis of Sasang constitution types on the relationship between university life stress and mental health)

  • 본 연구는 대학생활스트레스와 정신건강의 영향관계에서 체질집단 간 차이가 있는지 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 대학생 389명을 조사대상자로 선정하였고, QSCC II를 활용하여 사상체질 유형을 구분하였으며(소음인 136명, 소양인 139명, 태음인 114명), 사상체질집단 간 유의미한 영향관계 차이를 분석하기 위하여 구조방정식을 활용한 다집단분석을 실시하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 대학생활스트레스와 정신건강의 영향관계에 있어 소음인집단-소양인 집단 간 그리고 소양인집단-태음인집단 간에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 도출되었다. 소양인보다는 소음인과 태음인으로 분류된 대학생들에게 스트레스 및 정신건강에 대한 보다 더 많은 지원과 개입이 이루어져야 함이 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 사상체질에 적합한 차별화된 중재방안을 제시하였다.

안전문(screen doors) 설치 이후 지하철 기관사의 직무스트레스와 정신건강과의 융복합적 관련성 (Convergence Relationship between Job Stress and Mental Health of Subway Operators after the Installation of Screen Doors)

  • 본 연구는 서울시 소재 지하철 기관사 669명을 대상으로 안전문(screen doors) 설치 이후 직무스트레스 수준 및 직무스트레스와 정신건강과의 관련성을 파악하고자 실시하였다. 자료 수집은 구조화된 설문지로 웹 사이트에서 하였고, 자료 분석은 SPSS 20.0 통계프로그램을 이용하여 다중선형회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 지하철 기관사의 직무스트레스 전체 점수는 기준 점수 보다 높았으며, 물리환경, 직무요구, 직무자율성 결여, 관계갈등 및 직장문화는 상위 50%에, 조직체계는 상위 25%에 해당되었다. 상관분석결과, 직무스트레스는 정신건강 하위영역 모두와 유의한 양의 상관관계로 나타났다. 직무스트레스가 정신건강에 미치는 영향에서는 직무요구, 조직체계, 보상부적절 및 직장문화에서 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 설명력은 36.6%이었다. 향후 지하철 기관사의 직무스트레스 예방을 위해 직무특성에 맞는 조직차원의 관리방안마련과 정신건강증진을 위한 중재프로그램의 개발 및 운영을 위한 근거마련의 자료로 활용하고자 한다.

Exploring the Efficacy of Short-term Mental Health Healing Programs: A Case Study of Civil Servants in Jeonnam

  • In the field of mental health care, long-term healing programs have gained widespread recognition for their effectiveness in promoting well-being. However, the efficacy of shorter-term interventions, such as 1-night 2-day programs, remains relatively understudied. The primary objective of this initiative is twofold: firstly, to enhance the overall well-being and resilience of participants, and secondly, to investigate the program's potential to ameliorate specific mental health indicators. These indicators include physical stress levels, autonomic nervous system health, brain activity, brain stress, and concentration. A 1-night 2-day mental health healing program was implemented for 560 civil servants from Jeollanam-do (mean age 47.87 yrs). The focus was on measuring changes through baseline assessments before participation and post-program assessments upon completion. Measurements included physical stress index, autonomic nervous system health, brain activity level, brain stress, and brain concentration. There was a significant decrease in physical stress, as well as a significant decrease in autonomic nervous system health (p<0.05). Although there was no significant difference in brain activity level, there was a tendency for brain activity level to stabilize in the high-frequency range. Additionally, a significant decrease in stress levels and an improvement in concentration were observed. Incorporating 1-night 2-day relaxation programs into our daily lives offers a holistic approach to caring for both our physical and mental health, providing essential moments of rejuvenation and self-care that contribute to overall well-being and fulfillment.

대사증후군이 있는 당뇨병 환자의 지각된 스트레스에 따른 정신건강과 자가당뇨관리 (Mental Health and Self-care Activities according to Perceived Stress Level in Type 2 Diabetic Patients with Metabolic Syndrome)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the mental health and self-care activities according to perceived stress level in type 2 diabetic patients with metabolic syndrome. Methods: The descriptive survey design was conducted using a convenient sample. One hundred and fifty-two diabetic participants with metabolic syndrome were recruited in a university hospital. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Students' t-test, and ANOVA with SPSS/WIN 12.0. Results: The high, moderate, and low stress groups according to perceived stress score consisted of 30.9%, 38.2%, and 30.9%, respectively. Differences of mental health and total self-care activities among the three groups were statistically significant. Depression (F=46.73, p<.001), trait anger (F=5.75, p<.01), and anger expression-in (F=4.60, p<.01) of participants in the high stress group were higher than other groups, whereas the total of self-care activities (F=2.85, p<.05) and exercise (F=3.49, p<.05) were lower than other groups. Conclusion: This study concluded that type 2 diabetic patients with metabolic syndrome with a high stress level were low in self-care activities along with elevated depression and anger.
