This study began with an epistemological question about the nature of mathematical cognition in relation to the learner's activity. Therefore, by examining Piaget's 'reflective abstraction' theory which can be an answer to the question, we tried to get suggestions which can be given to the mathematical education in practice. 'Reflective abstraction' is formed through the coordination of the epistmmic subject's action while 'empirical abstraction' is formed by the characters of observable concrete object. The reason Piaget distinguished these two kinds of abstraction is that the foundation for the peculiar objectivity and inevitability can be taken from the coordination of the action which is shared by all the epistemic subjects. Moreover, because the mechanism of reflective abstraction, unlike empirical abstraction, does not construct a new operation by simply changing the result of the previous construction, but is forming re-construction which includes the structure previously constructed as a special case, the system which is developed by this mechanism is able to have reasonability constantly. The mechanism of the re-construction of the intellectual system through the reflective abstraction can be explained as continuous spiral alternance between the two complementary processes, 'reflechissement' and 'reflexion'; reflechissement is that the action moves to the higher level through the process of 'int riorisation' and 'thematisation'; reflexion is a process of 'equilibration'between the assimilation and the accomodation of the unbalance caused by the movement of the level. The operational learning principle of the theorists like Aebli who intended to embody Piaget's operational constructivism, attempts to explain the construction of the operation through 'internalization' of the action, but does not sufficiently emphasize the integration of the structure through the 'coordination' of the action and the ensuing discontinuous evolvement of learning level. Thus, based on the examination on the essential characteristic of the reflective abstraction and the mechanism, this study presents the principles of teaching and learning as following; $\circled1$ the principle of the operational interpretation of knowledge, $\circled2$ the principle of the structural interpretation of the operation, $\circled3$ the principle of int riorisation, $\circled4$ the principle of th matisation, $\circled5$ the principle of coordination, reflexion, and integration, $\circled6$ the principle of the discontinuous evolvement of learning level.
In the present study, we investigated the mechanisms of antinociceptive effect and thermoregulatory action of capsaicin in guinea pigs. The administration of capsaicin (5 mg/kg, s.c.) caused a significant decrease in frequency of eye wiping, an indicative of nociceptive threshold. This antinociceptive effect of calsaicin was abolished by co-administration of capsazepine (30 mg/kg, s.c.) with capsaicin, suggesting the involvement of a vanilloid receptor in the antinociceptive action of capsaicin. The administration of capsaicin (1 mg/kg, s.c.) produced a significant decrease in body temperature of guinea pigs. The maximum decrease in body temperature by 2 degrees was shown 1 hour after the treatment, and this decrease was not reversed by coadministration of capsazepine. In conclusion, it is suggested that the mechanism of action of capsaicin-induced thermoregulation involves different pathways from that of capsaicin-induced antinociception.

For action selection as well as teaming, simple associations between stimulus and response have been employed in most of literatures. But, for successful task accomplishment, it is required that artificial life system can team and express behavioral sequences. In this paper, we propose a novel action-selection-mechanism to deal with behavioral sequences. For this, we define behavioral motivation as a primitive node for action selection, and then hierarchically construct a tree with behavioral motivations. The vertical path of the tree represents behavioral sequences. Here, such a tree for our proposed ASM can be newly generated and/or updated, whenever a new behavioral sequence is learned. To show the validity of our proposed ASM, three 2-D grid world simulations will be illustrated.

Progressive collapse resistance of RC buildings can be analyzed by considering column loss scenarios. Using finite element analysis and a static test, the progressive collapse process of a RC frame under monotonic vertical displacement of a side column was investigated, simulating a column removal scenario. A single-story 1/3 scale RC frame that comprises two spans and two bays was tested and computed, and downward displacement of a side column was placed until failure. Our study offers insight into the failure modes and progressive collapse behavior of a RC frame. It has been noted that the damage of structural members (beams and slabs) occurs only in the bay where the removal side column is located. Greater catenary action and tensile membrane action are mobilized in the frame beams and slabs, respectively, at large deformations, but they mainly happen in the direction where the frame beams and slabs are laterally restrained. Based on the experimental and computational results, the mechanism of progressive collapse resistance of RC frames at different stages was discussed further. With large deformations, a simplified calculation method for catenary action and tensile membrane action is proposed.
The uniform truss mechanism is widely accepted as a shear transfer mechanism in reinforced concrete members. However, the uniform truss action cannot be expected when the bond stress distribution is not constant along longitudinal bars. A test method in which only the truss action takes place is developed and conducted to investigate the truss actions under various bond contributions. Based on the experimental results and analysis, the following findings can be obtained: 1) The bond stress distribution depends on the axial compression force, the amount of shear reinforcement and loading conditions. 2) The analysis using the combined truss model consisting of uniform and fan-shape trusses can predict the experimental results
Recent industrial society has human widely exposed to PAHs that are comming from the incomplete combustion of organic material as widespread environmental contaminants. Biological activities of PAHs are not known although PAHs are considered as carcinogens. PAHs in the mammalian cells affect CYP 1A1 gene expression as well as other phase II drug metabolizing enzymes as UDPGT, NMOR etc. The mechanism of action of PAHs has been studied extensively, however it is not clear how PAHs turn on CYPIAI in human breast cancer. The characteristics on non linear behavior and the failure mechanism of RC space frame structure serving railway under seismic action have been investigated by numerical analysis in time domain. The structure concerned is modeled in 3 dimensional extent and RC frame elements with fibers are employed. Fibers are characterized as RC one and PL one to distinguish different energy release after cracking. Due to deviation of mass center and stiffness center of entire structure the complex behavior under seismic action is shown. The excessive shear force is concentrated on the pier beside flexible one relatively, which leads to failure of bridge concerned.
It was carried out to detect the analgesic action of piperine by hot-plate method and to elucidate its mechanism in rats. Piperine (30mg/kg i.p.) produced profound analgesia, which was blocked by naloxone (10mg/kg). Chronic intraperitoneal administration of piperine significantly increased the contents of $\beta$-endorphin in rat midbrain. In the chronic piperine-treated groups, significant decreases of maximum opiate binding were observed. However, Kd value in these groups were not changed.
The online advertising industry's business model undertakes the change from CPM (cost-per-mille)-based to CPC(cost-per-click)-based. However, due to the problem of 'Click Fraud', CPA (cost-per-action) has been regarded as a new step. For CPA, publishers need to get information after a user clicks an advertisement. Therefore, in CPA, the key is to get Conversion Action Data (CAD). This paper introduces two existing mechanisms for getting CAD, compare their characteristics, and analyze their limitations. Then the two new mechanisms are introduced and their requirements and feasibility are analyzed. Lastly, we compare the existing two and the new two mechanisms, and point out each mechanism's business possibility, value and Application Area. This paper will help publishers choose the most appropriate mechanism on the basis of their situation.
The effect of various vehicles on the permeation of a model drug, ketoprofen in solution formulation was evaluated using a flow-through diffusion cell system at $37^{\circ}C$. To investigate the mechanism of permeation rate enhancement, the effects of pretreatment with various vehicles on the permeation of the drug were evaluated using 5 mg/ml solution and saturated solution. The order of permeation rate of ketoprofen across hairless mouse skin after pretreatment with various vehicles was similar to the case where the vehicles and the drug were coadministered except ethanol and oleic acid. The results indicate that the mechanism of enhancement can be direct action of the vehicles on the barrier property of the skin and/or carrier mechanism.
