  • In near-ring theory several different types of primitivity exist. These all imply several different types of primeness. In case of near-rings with DCCN most of the types of primeness are known to imply primitivity of a certain kind. We are able to show that also so called 1-prime near-rings imply 1-primitivity. This enables us to classify maximal ideals in near-rings with chain condition with the concept of 1-primeness which leads to further results in the structure theory of near-rings.

  • In this paper, the nonlinear matrix equation $$X+\sum_{i=1}^{m}A_i^*X^{-q}A_i=Q(0<q{\leq}1)$$ is investigated. Some necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for the existence of positive definite solutions for the matrix equation are derived. Two iterative methods for the maximal positive definite solution are proposed. A perturbation estimate and an explicit expression for the condition number of the maximal positive definite solution are obtained. The theoretical results are illustrated by numerical examples.

  • Curve tessellation, which generates a sequence of points from a curve, is very important for curve rendering on a computer screen and for NC machining. For the most case the sequence of discrete points is used rather than a continuous curve. This paper deals with a method of tessellation by calculating the maximal deviation of a curve. The maximal deviation condition is introduced to find the point with the maximal deviation. Our approach has two merits. One is that it guarantees satisfaction of a given tolerance, and the other is that it can be applied in not only a polynomial curve but its offset. Especially the point sequence generated from an original curve can cause over-cutting in NC machining. This problem can be solved by using the point sequence generated from the offset curve. The proposed method can be applied for high-accuracy curve tessellation and NC tool-path generation.

  • Let $\nu$ be a positive Borel measure on a space of homogeneous type (X, d, $\mu$), satisfying the doubling property. A condition on a weight $\omega$ for whixh a maximal operator $M\nu f$(x) defined by M$mu$f(x)=supr>0{{{{ { 1} over {ν(B(x,r)) } INT _{ B(x,r)} │f(y)│d mu (y)}}}}, is of weak type (p,p) with respect to (ν, $omega$), is that there exists a constant C such that C $omega$(y) for a.e. y$\in$B(x, r) if p=1, and {{{{( { 1} over { upsilon (B(x,r) } INT _{ B(x,r)}omega(y) ^ (-1/p-1) d mu (y))^(p-1)}}}} C, if 1$infty$.

  • Under the symbol ${\Omega}$ is a combination of ${\phi}_i$ ($i=1,2,3,{\ldots},n$) which has a suitable growth condition, for dimension n = 2 and $n{\geq}3$, when the initial data f belongs to homogeneous Sobolev space, we obtain the global $L^q$ estimate for maximal operators generated by operators family $\{S_{t,{\Omega}}\}_{t{\in}{\mathbb{R}}}$ associated with solution to dispersive equations, which extend some results in [27].

  • In the present paper, we give some characterization of the L2 maximal estimate for the operator Pta,γf(Γ(x, t)) along curve with complex time, which is defined by $$P^t_{a,{\gamma}}f({\Gamma}(x,t))={\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_{\mathbb{R}}}}\;e^{i{\Gamma}(x,t){\xi}}e^{it{\mid}{\xi}{\mid}^a}e^{-t^{\gamma}{\mid}{\xi}{\mid}^a}{\hat{f}}({\xi})d{\xi}$$, where t, γ > 0 and a ≥ 2, curve Γ is a function such that Γ : ℝ×[0, 1] → ℝ, and satisfies Hölder's condition of order σ and bilipschitz conditions. The authors extend the results of the Schrödinger type with complex time of Bailey [1] and Cho, Lee and Vargas [3] to Schrödinger operators along the curves.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new notion which we call a generalized weakly ideal. We also investigate characterizations of strongly regular rings with the condition that every maximal left ideal is a generalized weakly ideal. It is proved that R is a strongly regular ring if and only if R is a left GP-V-ring whose every maximal left (right) ideal is a generalized weakly ideal. Furthermore, if R is a left SGPF ring, and every maximal left (right) ideal is a generalized weakly ideal, it is shown that R/J(R) is strongly regular. Several known results are improved and extended.

  • The present paper describes an analytic solution procedure for flexural vibration of a rotationally restrained hinged-hinged Timoshenko beam at the supports during an earthquake. Focusing on maximal magnitudes of internal loads such as bending moment and shearing force under wide variations of two parameters, kL/EI and kGAL2/EI, various beams under synchronous and asynchronous support motions are simulated. The simulations under asynchronous support motions show the following facts. The variations of the maximal magnitudes of internal loads of stocky beams due to the variation of kL/EI from zero to infinity show much wider variations than those of slender beams as kGAL2/EI decreases. The maximal magnitudes of internal loads of a beam tend to be governed by their static components as kL/EI increases and kGAL2/EI decreases. When the internal loads are governed by their static components, maximal magnitudes of internal loads of the stocky tend to increase monotonically as the value of kL/EI increases. However, the simulations under synchronous support motions show the static components of the internal loads vanish and the internal loads are governed by dynamic components irrespective of the two parameters.

  • To meet the NOx limit without a penalty of fuel consumption, urea SCR system is currently regarded as promising NOx reduction technology for diesel engines. SCR system has to achieve maximal NOx conversion in combination with minimal $NH_3$ slip. In this study, as a basic research to develop an algorithm for urea injection control, the characteristics of engine out NOx emission and behavior of NOx reduction during steady-state and transient conditions were investigated using 2L DI diesel engine. Test results show that on increasing the catalyst temperature the variations in the outlet NOx concentration are faster and maximal allowable $NH_3$ storage exponentially decreases. For change from a low to high engine load, it can be seen that a few seconds after load-step is required to reach full NOx conversion and the adsorbed amount of $NH_3$ at lower temperature desorb during the next temperature increase, causing $NH_3$ slip. Engine out NOx emission needs to be corrected because NOx emissions just after step load is lower than that of steay state condition.

  • Properties of prime filters are studied in BE-algebras as well as in commutative BE-algebras. An equivalent condition is derived for a BE-algebra to become a totally ordered set. A condition L is introduced in a commutative BE-algebra in ordered to study some more properties of prime filters in commutative BE-algebras. A set of equivalent conditions is derived for a commutative BE-algebra to become a chain. Some topological properties of the space of all prime filters of BE-algebras are studied.
