만 3세 유아 부모의 수학적 상호작용 증진을 위한 가정연계 프로그램의 개발 및 적용 (Development and Application of a Home Connection Program on the Improvement of Mathematical Interaction of Parents of 3-year-olds)

  • Objective: This study aimed to develop and apply the home connection program for promoting the mathematical interaction of parents of 3-year-olds. Methods: We surveyed questionnaires for 36 parents and interviewed 3 parents of 3-year-olds for the development of the program. Twenty-one 3-year-olds were selected as participants in the program. Quantitative data from a checklist for parent's mathematical interaction were analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA. Qualitative data from self-evaluation of teachers and parents were categorized and analyzed in terms of meaning. Results: Based on the home connection program, the session were provided in the following order [educare center activities ${\rightarrow}$ home-linked activities ${\rightarrow}$ home+educare integrated activities] and in each session, the three-step course [sharing of thinking ${\rightarrow}$ gathering of thinking ${\rightarrow}$ broadening of thinking] was applied. Implementation of this program led to promoting parental mathematical interaction. Conclusion/Implications: This study will lead to follow-up studies that reveal positive effects of our program.

유아기 부모의 수학적 상호작용 척도 개발 및 타당화 연구 (The Development and Validation of a Scale to Measure the Mathematical Interaction of Young Children's Parents)

  • This study aimed to develop and validate a scale which could be used to evaluate mathematical interactions of parents with their young children. The subjects comprised 408 mothers of 4-6-year-old children. Means, standard deviation, $x^2$, Cramer's V, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson correlations, and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ were calculated. First, 49 items were developed through a review of relevant research, parent interviews, confirmation of item adequacy and content validity. These items were then edited down to a final list of 24 items representing 4 factors identified by exploratory factor analysis. Second, this 24-item. 4-factor scale was shown to have adequate construct validity, norm validity, and reliability by confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. In conclusion, the final mathematical interaction scale for young children's parents was composed of 24 items with 4 factors: "interaction regarding numbers and operations, measurements, and patterns", "interaction regarding data collection and result presentation", "interaction with picture books", and "interaction regarding shapes and figures"

만 3세 유아의 인지발달에 대한 부모-교사 협력관계의 영향력: 가정환경의 질, 부모의 수학적 상호작용의 매개효과를 중심으로 (The Effects of the Parent-Teacher Cooperation on the Cognitive Development of 3-Year-Olds: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of the Quality of Home Environment and the Parental Mathematical Interaction)

  • Objective: The purpose is to verify that whether there are significant correlation between parent-teacher cooperation, quality of home environment, and mathematical interaction of parents and cognitive development of 3-year-olds, and the quality of home environment and mathematical interaction mediate the relationship between the parent-teacher cooperation and the cognitive development. Methods: A test was performed on 110 3-year-olds enrolledin a daycare center located in city S, and a questionnaire survey was conducted on their parents. We analyzed our data using SPSS WIN 21.0 and pearson's correlation, tested the mediating effect using regression, and used the Sobel test to check significance of the mediating effect. Results: Cognitive development of 3-year-olds was correlated with the parent- teacher cooperation, the quality of home environment, and mathematical interaction of parents. The quality of home environment showed complete mediating effect on the relationship between the parent-teacher cooperation and the cognitive development, and the mathematical interaction showed complete mediating effect on the relationship between the parent-teacher cooperation and the cognitive development. Conclusion/Implications: The parent-teacher cooperation indirectly predicts the cognitive development through the quality of home environment and the mathematical interaction. This research can contribute to the development of the family- institution connection program to facilitate the parent-teacher cooperation.

부모 인식을 통한 가정에서의 부모-자녀 간 수학적 상호작용 및 수학 관련 놀잇감 활용 실태 조사 연구 (A Survey Study of Parents' Perceptions on Status of Parent-Child Mathematical Interaction and Use of Mathematical Materials at home)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore status of mathematical interactions between parent and child and use of mathematical materials at home. For this purpose, questionnaires were developed. The framework of the questionnaires consisted of mathematics education content domains. 276 parents(4-5 year old children) in J Province responded to the questionnaires, which were analyzed according to the level of home income, the mother's work conditions and the mother's level of education. The results were as follows: First, between parent and child mathematical interaction at home showed a 2.84 score in average and frequency of mathematical interaction expressed in the domains of 'Understanding of regularity', 'Measurement', 'Growing number sense', 'Space and shapes', 'Organizing data and showing results'. The domains of 'Growing number sense', 'space and shapes', and 'measurement' showed significant difference only by mother's level of education. The higher the mother's level of education, the more frequent the mathematical interaction between parent and child. Second, the use of mathematical materials showed an average score of 1.18, which means mathematical materials were practically not used at home. Also, the use of mathematical materials showed a slightly significant difference when measures against the levels of home income and the mother's level of education. The results showed a significant difference in parent-child mathematical interactions, and the possession and use of mathematical materials when measures against by level of home income and the mother's work conditions. Therefore, the results of this study suggest that the parent education program for mathematical interaction to apply at home and mathematics curriculum to be connected early in childhood education institution and home should be developed for parents.

학생의 수학 성취도와 학교의 연대 책임: 다수준 분석 방법의 적용 (A Multilevel Study of Collective Responsibility: Its Effect on Student's Mathematics Achievement)

  • Schools are expected to ultimately moderate the difference of inequality issues among social groups and reduce the achievement gaps. This study investigates this expectation, in particular, how students' mathematics achievements are influenced by their parents' education at the individual level and by collective responsibility for teaching at the school level as well as the interaction of the two. Using a two-level hierarchical linear model, this study indicates that a school collective responsibility has a larger positive effect on students' mathematics achievement when their parents' education level is high. This means that school's collective responsibility accelerates inequity in students' mathematics achievement. Knowing that collective responsibility has less of an effect on students whose parents' education is not high, researchers, schools, and school districts should continue to search for school effects that have more of a positive impact on the relationship between mathematics achievement for students whose parents' education is not high in order to have more equitable results for all students.

수학 내재적 동기 수준에 따른 교사와 부모의 성취압력이 수학 학업성취에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Accomplishing Pressure of Teachers and Parents on Academic Achievement in accordance with the Moderating Effect of Intrinsic Motivation in Mathematics)

  • 본 연구에서는 중학교 2학년의 수학 학업성취도에 대한 교사와 부모의 성취압력과 수학 내재적 동기의 영향력과 조절효과를 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 수학 내재적 동기의 수준에 따라, 수학 내재적 동기가 높은 집단에서 교사의 성취압력은 수학 학업성취도에 부적인 영향을 미치는 반면, 수학 내재적 동기 중 하집단에서는 교사의 성취압력이 수학 학업성취도에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 부모의 성취압력은 수학 내재적 동기가 높은 집단과 낮은 집단 모두 수학 학업성취도에 정적인 영향을 미치고, 특히 수학 내재적 동기가 중 상인집단이 하집단에 비해 수학 학업성취도에 더 큰 효과를 나타냈다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 교사와 부모의 성취압력을 통해 수학 학업성취도를 높일 수 있는 방안이 논의되었으며, 후속 연구를 위한 연구의 제한점을 제시하였다.

Studies on the Degree of Genetic Divergence for Different Quantitative Traits Between Paremntal Lines of Silkworm, Bombyx mori L., Hybrids

  • A study was conducted to establish the degree of genetic divergence between different hybrid forms and rearing conditions through estimation of the minimum number of genes (allelic pairs) differentiating parents in terms of specific quantitative traits. It was established that the minimum gene numbers differentiating parental lines in the inheritance of cocoon was 1, of cocoon shell weight- between 1 and 2, and of silk filament length- between 2 and 3. The variability in the specific genetic parameter could be explained by the reliability of the statistical-and-genetic method used and the expression of genes affecting the formation of each of the characters tested. Gene expression, in its turns is conditioned both by the gene interaction within the genotypes and the different genotype response to environmental change. To go deep in the problem, experiments should be conducted under strictly controlled conditions, reducing the mathematical-and-genetic analysis to a physiological levels and hence to analyse the genetic nature of the specific quantitative character formation and its genetic control.

초등수학 영재교육원의 교실 생활과 정체성에 대한 사례연구 (A Case Study on the classroom life and the identity of the Elementary Mathematics Gifted Education)

  • 본 연구는 영재교육원의 일반적인 교실 생활과 영재교육원의 수업에서 지도교사와 영재학생들의 정체성을 알아보기 위한 목적으로 영재교육원 두 반과 2명의 영재담임강사를 약 3개월에 걸쳐 관찰 및 면접한 결과를 분석한 사례연구이다. 본 연구에서는 영재교육원의 교실 생활에 대해 수업의 조직과 사회적 참여구조, 의미 형성 세 가지 측면으로 나누어 분석하고, 영재교육원 지도교사와 영재학생들의 정체성에 대해 영재수학 및 수학 교수, 학습 측면으로 나누어 분석하여 기술하고 있다. 본 논문을 통해 영재교육원에 입학하고자 하는 학생들과 영재교육원 강사가 되고자 하는 교사에게는 영재교육원 교실 생활에 대한 올바른 가치관을 심어주고, 지도교사에게는 학생들의 영재수학에 대한 정체성과 수학학습에 대한 정체성을 이해하여 어떻게 영재수업을 준비해야할 지에 대한 시사점을 주게 된다.
