  • This study was intended to survey on the restaurant selection preferences by elderly consumers' values and lifestyle. The survey was residing in Seoul and men and women who were 55 years of age or older to achieve the purpose of this study, the theoretical and empirical research methods research methods were combined. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, Action oriented intrinsic value of elderly consumers highest lifestyle influence. This is an internal value-oriented elderly consumers to follow the latest fashion trends and challenges in the new one, we enjoyed the service and sometimes want to experience the frenetic fun means. Second, Realization oriented lifestyle on the Brand standards, food quality standards, environmental standards positive effect was found to be Principle oriented life style based on the environment positively influence. This trend Principle oriented lifestyle can talk comfortably while you can relax and quiet around people, mainly from a reputable place, and action-oriented selection of the hotels facilities and senior discount price menu and the service is friendly and Notice that if you use a little less meoleodo, and these results are only for the elderly consumers with access privileges and services using the factors of elderly consumers loyalty and Catering Food service satisfaction should be efforts to raise. Third, elderly consumers select attribute value and proven results Food service elderly consumers based on personal values and lifestyle are different catering companies can select the properties that standard means, elderly consumers are value-oriented properties and select the Food Service Industry catering companies by identifying the active elderly consumers in future marketing strategies to be able to bring a positive impact considered.

An Empirical Study on the Flow Experience Affected by Characteristics of Mobile Internet (모바일 인터넷 특성이 플로우 경험에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, as mobile internet users grow rapidly, mobile internet companies are experiencing a fierce competition to capture new customers. Under this business environment, they try to identify factors that make people use mobile internet in order to satisfy customers by providing better and diversified services. There has been enormous effort to analyze customers' behavior in choose and use mobile internet services. However, there is no one best methodology to identify factors to attract customers yet. Thus, the study applied the flow construct proposed by Csikszentmihalyi(1977) and expanded by Hoffman and Novak(1996) to identify environmental factors of internet which has impact on users' mobile internet usage. To implement the study, the following activities have been done: literature reviews on service acceptance model and flow structure, questionnaire survey, suggestion of the flow model on mobile internet, and hypothesis test. For the study, 242 out of 307 samples collected were statistically analyzed using SPSS 10.0, AMOS 4.0 statistics package. The findings of this study are as follows: First, mobile internet environment factors influencing on challenge of flow antecedent were media characteristics(use of convenience, transmission quality), contents characteristics(uniqueness, timeliness, simplicity). Second, mobile internet environment factors influencing on skill of flow antecedent were contents(uniqueness, timeliness, simplicity), charge(definiteness and diversity of charge), usage(security, instant connectivity). Third, challenge of flow antecedent had a significant effect on flow of mobile internet usage. But it was not statistically significant that skill has an influence on flow. This study discovered the relationship between mobile internet environment factors(media characteristics, contents characteristics, charge characteristics, usage characteristics) and flow experience of mobile internet users which would be a valuable insight for marketing strategies. Results shows that challenge of flow antecedent have a significant impact on flow experience in mobile internet environment. Additional, media characteristics, contents characteristics of mobile internet environment factors is positively correlated with challenge of flow antecedent. In other words, mobile internet companies should provide customers with diverse service and take a challenging attitude to get customers show aggressive attitude in mobile internet usage.

Usage and Satisfaction of Food-related Smartphone Applications of Office Workers in Seoul Area (수도권 지역 직장인의 음식 관련 스마트폰 어플리케이션 이용 실태와 만족도)

  • This study was conducted to figure the usage status and satisfaction of food-related smartphone applications by generic characteristics and food purchase attributes of Seoul area workers. The results show that health vitality-oriented group, married compared to single, those with higher eating-out expenses possess more food-related applications (p<0.05). The primary reason for the usage of food-related applications was the need for food-related information (53.7%). The highest application subjects in use were restaurant-related information and recipe information. The real-life aid food-related applications utilized most were also restaurant information (60.7%) and recipe information (28.3%). Health vitality-oriented respondents especially turned out to use nutrition information and food functionality information often (p<0.01), and recipes or calories & diet information usage frequency was higher in women than in men (p<0.001). Restaurant-related information were more frequently used by singles, highly educated, and those with high income and eating-out expenses (p<0.05). Satisfaction of food-related applications was normal (3.06), showing that the satisfactory level is not yet high. Satisfaction regarding purchase attributes showed that the health vitality-oriented group (3.19) was more satisfied compared to other groups (p<0.05), and women (3.16) were more satisfied that men (2.89) were (p<0.05). Inconveniences of food-related applications were highest in usage fee (3.29), simplicity of information (3.28), lack of reliability of information and need for update (3.10). The results of this study implies that various subdivisions of food-related applications users should be implemented; at the same time, food-related applications covering diverse subjects that regard each group's characteristics should be developed in order to utilize food-related knowledge and information as a marketing tool in the food industry; this can efficiently be done by paying attention to the quality of information and updates within applications.

A Survey on Food Purchasing of Internet Users via On-line Shopping (인터넷 사용자의 온라인 식품 구매 실태 조사)

  • The objectives of this study are to provide the food market of internet shopping malls with effective marketing data, to provide basic data for the development of related fields of the study, and ultimately to increase the satisfaction of food consumers of internet shopping malls. To achieve the object of this research, a cluster analysis of the research subjects was carried out based on the following 5 factors of food purchasing attribute that had been deduced by a factor analysis by the types of food purchasers: quality characteristics, informativity, convenience, price and diversity. According to the result of the cluster analysis, the research subjects were classified into the 2 clusters of diversity and informativity. The deduced 2 clusters, together with age and occupation among general characteristics, were used as independent variables to find out food purchasing behaviors and satisfaction at internet shopping malls. The results are as follows: Regarding the frequency of food purchasing experiences at internet shopping malls according to occupation, the highest frequency was shown by those involved in service, sales and self-employed businesses; whereas regarding the frequency according to age, those in their 30s and 40s showed the highest frequency. The total amount of money spent on food purchasing for 1 year at internet shopping malls was shown to increase as age increased. The frequency of the purchasing experiences of agricultural products and fish products was shown to be higher as age increased. However, overall purchase satisfaction was highest among those in their 30s, while lowest among those in their 40s. Regarding satisfaction by the types of food purchased via internet shopping malls, satisfaction was relatively higher with common foods and functional foods, while lower with fish products. Taken together, it was concluded that purchasing behaviors at internet food shopping malls, such as the frequency of purchasing experiences and purchase amount, varied depending on age rather than purchasing attribute. Accordingly, in order to vitalize internet food shopping malls, it would be necessary to provide customized food shopping information for individual age groups.

  • This study aims to analyze importance and performance factors on the quality of food service event attributes in participants and organizers, so that it could provide helpful information to build up a detailed marketing strategy and present considerations for revisit increase and more efficient business results as well. Importance on food service event attributes scored a higher level than performance on the whole. Notably, in regard to the attributes of food service event, it was found that respondents put higher stress on vessel(4.10 points), natural seasoning(4.06 points), reservation service(4.04 points), parking service(3.95 points), customer level(3.85 points), organizer's service (3.84 points), polished atmosphere (3.83 points) and taste of food (3.83 points) than anything else. In terms of IPA analysis on food service event attributes, it was important to continuously maintain 'vessel', 'reservation service', customer level', 'sauce taste', 'recency', price', 'chefs fame', etc. Some items such as 'parking service', 'natural seasoning', 'polished atmosphere', 'taste of food', 'see off service', 'cleanliness' are in need of intensive care and operation.

A Study on Consumer Trust Building in an Internet Marketplace (인터넷 오픈마켓 거래안전 요인과 소비자신뢰의 관계 연구)

  • Internet B2C marketplace such as 'Auction', 'G Market', 'Daum onket' etc.(called open market) has grown sharply in sales about yearly 100% rate increase in recent 1-2 years in Korea. Although Open marketplace has much reputation and the customer loyalty, almost of merchants participated in open market, which size in sales are medium/small, has poor reputation and trust. Consumers, who have to get in touch with untrustworthy merchants for trade in openmarket, perceive high trade risk which undergo the monetary damages such as 'merchandise never received'. This examines what factors consumer trust develop in online marketplace. This study explores several perceived risk factors in an open market by factor analysis and multi-regression to prove the relationships between the degree of trust for the merchants and the perceived trade risk. 133 data collected from the open market user data in this survey. In this study, the consumer's trade satisfaction in open market is low by 4.2 point degree of 7 point likert scale. and perceives 4 trade risk factors such as (1) 'failure to honor warranty or guarantee' (2) 'defective/poor goods in quality' (3) 'merchandise never received or received late' (4) 'poor information'. the degree of merchant's trust has significant relationship with the degree of perceived risk(sig. = 0.0000, $R^2=.327$) We find that the open market has to enhance the relationship marketing of trust by developing the strategies.

  • As a critical element for success of community based tourism, festivals and special events play a significant role in enticing visitors from outside of the host community. More importantly, festivals and events contribute to improve the life quality for both hosts and guests. The purpose of this study is to develop a market segmentation strategy based on the perceived festival impacts among visitors to Poonggi Ginseng Festival so that each segment can be treated and communicated with separatedly for utmost visiting satisfaction. In this study, two market segments based on visitors' socio-cultural and environmental evaluation of the festival were identified, namely high appraisal group and low appraisal group. Two groups contrast sharply in terms of their behavioral patterns and perceived value and overall satisfaction. Practical marketing strategies are suggested accordingly.

Technology Innovation in Kimchi Packaging for Marketing in Food Supply Chain (상품적 유통을 고려한 김치 포장의 기술혁신 현황)

  • Kimchi, a Korean fermented vegetable is packaged without pasteurization and distributed with live bacteria actively working to produce lactic acid and carbon dioxide gas in the product. The $CO_2$ production consisting of two distinct phases of initial fast and later slow rates depends on kimchi type, salt content and storage temperature. The $CO_2$ produced from kimchi is accumulated in the product package causing volume expansion and pressure buildup. The dependence of $CO_2$ production rate on salt content and storage temperature has been published formerly and can be used for estimating the package volume and pressure under a variety of storage conditions. As methods to alleviate the problems from the produced $CO_2$, package designs with controlled diffusion pinhole, high $CO_2$ permeable film or $CO_2$ absorber have been tried by several researchers. Properly designed packages adopting the device or tool were shown to have high dissolved $CO_2$ in kimchi without volume expansion and pressure buildup, giving good sensory quality with carbonic taste. Advantages and limitations of each method have been discussed.

A Comparative Case Study of Factors Determining Documentary Films' Success :Focusing on "My Love, Don't Cross That River" and "Two Doors" (다큐멘터리영화의 성공을 결정짓는 요인에 관한 비교사례연구 -<님아, 그 강을 건너지 마오>와 <두 개의 문>을 중심으로)

  • After a few recent documentary films had commercial success, factors for their success are getting attention. This paper explores the factors of the financial success of two documentary films. "My Love, Don't Cross That River" gained extended popularity with its universal message, and "Two Doors" conveyed a poweful political message. This paper conducted a case study by inteviewing production directors and distribution managers. Analysis was based on the three categories suggested by Litman and Kohl(1989): creative sphere, distribution-scheduling release pattern, and marketing efforts. Findings present the common factors of the two movies' success in the following areas: persons and events showing a powerful reality, a message with new and fresh insight, artistic quality, distribution strategy with timely scheduling, release time (period), public relations, and advertising.. In addition, "My Love, Don't Cross That River" was helped by a sufficient budget for scheduling/releasing and advertising. Its wide-release stratergy worked as well. "Two Doors" was aided by the government support for release and by the special factor called 'Participating viewer'. By examining the factors of documentary films' commercial success, this study has an implication for the popularization of documentary movies by indicating how to strategically apply relevant factors.

A Study on the Reorganization of the National Spatial Information System (국가공간정보시스템 개편 추진 방향 연구)

  • Spatial information has been widely used for efficient land use and management, disaster management, environment management, infrastructure management, corporate marketing, and cultural assets management, and the need for spatial information is expected to be increased. For this reason, central government, local government and public institutions must establish a National Spatial Information System (Fifteen systems related to spatial information managed by National Spatial Data Infrastructure Policy office, NSIS) framework that guarantees high accuracy and quality. The NSIS will provide convenience usage of spatial information in the field of decision-making or civil support. However the current National Spatial Information System is mainly established with separate processes, which causes data redundancy, deterioration of information, passive opening, and sharing of the spatial data. This study suggests 4 standards, which has been derived by applying value-chain model to NSIS data flow, and they are ‘Production and Establishment’, ‘Integration and Sharing’, ‘Application and Fusion’ and ‘Release and Opening’. Based on these standards, the 15 NSIS were analyzed to draw out implications and reforming directions were suggested. By following these suggestions we expect more recent, consist, accurate, and connected National Spatial Information Service which will be more open to public and then satisfy the demands.
