  • As a result of significant investments by the government in promoting public technology commercialization and fostering a venture startup ecosystem, there have been quantitative achievements, such as the registration of over 1,600 Innopolis Start-ups since 2006, generating a total revenue of 1.1 trillion won as of 2021. However, these achievements have been overshadowed by critical qualitative challenges, including a continuous decline in average revenue per Innopolis Start-up. This led to a focus on whether managers' technological and market orientations affect business performance. This study aims to provide insights into improving the qualitative growth of Innopolis Start-ups by analyzing the effects of technological and market orientations on business performance, as well as the moderating effects of adjusting marketing and research and development (R&D) costs on this relationship. Through prior research and empirical analysis, this study derives three main findings. First, technological excellence and innovation significantly influence the business performance of Innopolis Start-ups, while technological intensity does not. Second, customer orientation and competitive orientation significantly impact business performance, whereas entry barriers as a single factor do not. Third, adjusting marketing and R&D costs, as controlled variables obtained through general situations, has no direct impact on other variables. However, it interacts with entry barriers, influencing financial business performance, with R&D costs exhibiting a negative buffering effect and marketing costs showing a positive enhancing effect. This study confirms that both technological and market orientations directly influence the business performance of Innopolis Start-ups, thus being crucial factors affecting their growth. Moreover, it establishes that investments in marketing and R&D play significant roles in alleviating initial entry barriers and enhancing financial performance. Consequently, it underscores the importance of reinforcing technological and market orientations tailored to the characteristics of Innopolis Start-ups. Additionally, it proposes five theoretical contributions: strengthening institutional support systems for technology commercialization and innovation, improving qualitative evaluation criteria during the selection process of Innopolis Start-ups, conducting comprehensive analyses of technological and market aspects during startup selection, enhancing support for marketing education and consulting for smooth market entry, and supporting expenditure strategies and milestone setting tailored to the industrial characteristics of individual Innopolis Start-ups.

By the way, the software venture business(SVB) has some weak points in its structural composition and itematization and no professional personnel in other several sections except technology development section. Therefore, this study aims to provide the basic data useful to the establishment of governmental policy in information and communication, to the rearing of the SVB by a local government related to the software, and to the administration of SVB by investigating the actual conditions. Additionally, the study attempts to analyze positively the actual condition of its management after classified by the areas of business profile, its general management, its technology development, its finance and accounting, and its marketing The result of this study is found that the SVB has a lot of troubles in part of marketing and finance & accounting activity as well as general management. • This study empirically analyzed the relationship with major influencing factors in enhancing innovation capability of start-ups and their influence on innovation performance. If the existing innovation competency studies were analyzed from a general corporate perspective, In this study, it was analyzed from the perspective of start-up companies with less than 7 years of founding. As a result of a survey on startups, learning competency among the sub-variables of innovation competency, R&D competency and marketing competency are significant positive (+) consistent with both organizational competence related to organizational culture and organizational goals, technology commercialization competency, and close product competency. Has been shown to affect. The technical competence part does not have a significant effect on the product competency. However, it could not be interpreted that the importance of these competencies was low. This is because although technical competence did not directly affect product competency, it was analyzed as a meaningful result in relation to R&D competency. In addition, the characteristics of the company were classified into technology orientation and market orientation, and the relationship between each sub-variable was analyzed. The technical competence of a technology-oriented company did not have a significant effect on the product competency, but it was found that it had an effective effect on the R&D capacity. It is also consistent with the research findings that the initial survival rate is low as the characteristics of start-ups are often based on technology and ideas. Based on these results, There is a difference in major innovation capabilities according to the growth stage of a company. From a practical point of view, I would like to present approaches and implications for strengthening the competence of start-ups.
