  • Solution-derived amorphous indium-gallium-zinc oxide (a-IGZO) thin-film-transistor (TFTs) were developed using a microwave irradiation treatment at low process temperature below $300^{\circ}C$. Compared to conventional furnace-annealing, the a-IGZO TFTs annealed by microwave irradiation exhibited better electrical characteristics in terms of field effect mobility, SS, and on/off current ratio, although the annealing temperature of microwave irradiation is much lower than that of furnace annealing. The microwave irradiated TFTs showed a smaller $V_{th}$ shift under the positive gate bias stress (PGBS) and negative gate bias stress (NGBS) tests owing to a lower ratio of oxygen vacancies, surface absorbed oxygen molecules, and reduced interface trapping in a-IGZO. Therefore, microwave irradiation is very promising to low-temperature process.

  • Helium-oxygen plasma treatments were conducted to modify poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PIT) and poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) warp knitted fabrics under atmospheric pressure. Lubricant and contamination removals by plasma etching effect were examined by weight loss $(\%)$ measurements and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. Surface oxidation by plasma treatments was revealed by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analyses, resulting in formation of hydrophilic groups and moisture regain $(\%)$ enhancement. Low-stress mechanical properties (evaluated by Kawabata evaluation system) and bulk properties (air permeability and bust strength) were enhanced by plasma treatment. Increasing interfiber and interyarn frictions might play important roles in enhancing surface property changes by plasma etching effect, and then changing low-stress mechanical properties and bulk properties for both fabrics.

  • $Li^+$ and $H^+$ co-exchanged LSXs (Li-H-LSX) with various ratios of $Li^+$ and $H^+$ were prepared, and those adsorption characteristics of nitrogen and oxygen were compared with Li-Na-LSX and Li-Ca-LSX. Li-H-LSX showed higher nitrogen capacity and selectivity than that of Li-Na-LSX in the wide range of Li-exchanged ratio. The nitrogen capacity of Li-Ca-LSX was slightly higher than that of fully Li- or Ca-exchanged LSX (Li- LSX or Ca-LSX). However, Li-Ca-LSX showed low nitrogen/oxygen adsorption selectivity until the Li content reached about 80%, which was a tendency near that of Ca-LSX.

  • With an increase in the use of low rank coals in power plants, various operational issues were raised in the fuel storage and supply, combustion, boiler and flue gas treatment systems. In the fuel storage and supply system, the main issue is the self-heating propensity of low rank coals leading to spontaneous combustion in yard storage, transport and pulverization. This study evaluated the reactivity of various sub-bituminous and bituminous coals with oxygen at low temperatures by analyzing the temperature increase characteristics of coals under a constant flow rate of oxygen supply. The results were quantified to a self-heating index and the relation with the fuel properties were evaluated.

  • In the present paper, we review recycling and applications of titanium binary alloy scraps. The recycling techniques are to successfully prepare low oxygen content ingots using hydrogen plasma arc melting (HPAM) and to produce low oxygen content titanium alloy powders by Hydrogenation-dehydrogenation (HDH) and Deoxidation in solid state (DOSS) process. In addition, as applications of the titanium binary alloy scraps, Ti based solid-solution carbide powders, which would be used for producing Ti based solid-solution cermets with high toughness, were prepared using the titanium binary alloy scraps. These results confirmed that the titanium alloy scraps could be recycled and refined using the HPAM. The resulting oxygen content of the titanium alloy powders were below 1,000 ppm after powderizing. Finally, we had confirmed that the refined titanium alloy powders were able to be utilized as raw materials for preparing the toughened cermets.

  • Based on case that HRSG low pressure steam generator tube was damaged by FAC in 500 MW A CCPP. This case analyzed the effect of application about the block of hydrazine water treatment which is applied for increasing dissolved oxygen. And also try to deduce the major factor of FAC Which is caused by lacking of dissolved oxygen of boiler feed system. After 1 year of water treatment, the figure of dissolved oxygen in the boiler feed water has increased from 0.15 ppb to 3~5 ppb and the figure of oxidation reduction potential has increased from -245 mV to 170 mV. And Iron content, the corrosion products by FAC has decreased from 18.5 ppb to 5~7 ppb. According to the result of experiment, we could able to confirm that the interception of hydrazine of water treatment is effective to reduce FAC.

  • Carbon molecules with closed-cage structures are called fullerenes $(C_{60},\;C_{70})$, whose applications include super-conductors, sensors, catalysts, optical and electronic device, polymer composites, and biological and medical materials. The synthesis of fullerenes has been recently studied with low-pressure benzene/argon/oxygen flames. The formation of fullerene is known as molecular weight growth processes of PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon). This study presents results of PAHs and fullerene measurements performed in a low-pressure benzene/argon/oxygen normal co-flow laminar diffusion flame. Through the central tube of the burner, benzene vapors carried by argon are injected. The benzene vapors are made in a temperature-controlled bubbler. The burner is located in a chamber, equipped with a sampling system for direct collection of condensable species from the flame, and exhausted to a vacuum pump. Samples of the condensable are analyzed by HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) to determine the yields of PAHs and fullerene. Also, we computed mole fraction of fullerene and PAHs in a nearly sooting low pressure premixed, one-dimensional benzene/argon/oxygen flame (equivalence ratio ${\Phi}=2.4$, pressure=5.33kPa). The object of computation was to investigate the formation mechanism of fullerenes and PAHs. The computations were performed with CHEMKIN/PREMIX. As a result of this study, fullerenes were synthesized in a low pressure (20torr) $C_6H_6/Ar/O_2$ flames and the highest concentration of fullerene was detected just above the visible surface of a flame.

  • The effects of temperature and salinity on tile rates of ammonia and amino nitrogen excretion, and oxygen consumption were measured for Crassostrea gigas. There was variability with temperature and salinity changes in both the rates of nitrogen excretion and the proportionality between ,ammonia and amino acids in the excreta, and also in the rates of oxygen consumption. Rates of nitrogen excretion and oxygen consumption were markedly decreased with increase in salinity, especially at high salinity-high temperature, whereas at low salinity-high temperature condition they were significantly increased. These changes are considered as the responses of physiological tolerances to the high temperature stress and the results of the metabolic temperature compensation at the low salinity-high temperature condition. Most of nitrogenous excretory products was ammonia, and large amounts of amino-nitrogen was excreted, and especially the rate of amino-nitrogen excretion was dominant at $32.5\%_{\circ}-22^{\circ}C$. The amounts of amino-nitrogen excreted by animals were decreased in the medium of high salinity and increased in the medium of low salinity through the experimental temperature. The atomic ratios of oxygen consumed to ammonia-nitrogen excreted (O: N ratio) was low at the low temperature $(15^{\circ}C)$, and was high at $22^{\circ}$ and $29^{\circ}C$ in the medium of 32.5 and $37.5\%_{\circ}$ but low in the low salinity $27.5\%_{\circ}$.

  • The YMnO$_3$ thin films were prepared on platinized-silicon substrates by chemical solution deposition and annealed at 750 to 85$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 h under various oxygen pressures, from 2 mTorr to 760 Torr. Effects of annealing oxygen pressures on the crystallization behavior and electrical properties of YMnO$_3$ thin films were investigated. Crystallinity and c-axis preferred orientation of YMnO$_3$ thin film were improved by decreasing the oxygen pressure but were deteriorated at extremely low oxygen pressure, 2 mTorr. Leakage current density of the YMn03 thin film decreased as the oxygen pressure decreased. The film annealed at 80$0^{\circ}C$ under 2 Torr, which had the best crystallinity and the highest c-axis preferred orientation. showed the best-developed ferroelectric C-V hysteresis.

  • Phloxine B (2,4,5,7-tetrabromo-4,5,6,7-tetrachlorofluorescein disodium salt), also referred as D&C red dye no. 28, is phototoxic to many insects such as Tephritidae fruit flies. Sunlight photolysis of phloxine B in aqueous solutions was a first order kinetic reaction at low concentrations. But it turned to be more complex reactions with the increase of phloxine B concentration. The half-lives of phloxine B (6-120 ${\mu}$M) were 18-41 and 52-289 hours in oxygenated and deaerated distilled water, respectively. The photolysis rate constants increased as the phloxine B concentrations increased. The singlet oxygen formation positively correlated with the concentrations of phloxine B and humic acid in oxygenated distilled water. The formation of singlet oxygen did not stop even after the complete degradation of phloxine B, which suggested an involvement of photoproduct-mediated reactions. The results showed that singlet oxygen mediated photooxidation was a dominant reaction for phloxine B dissipation in an aqueous solution, and the self-sensitized and photoproduct-mediated reactions were also involved at the higher concentrations. Iodide and bromide ions significantly decreased phloxine B photolysis rate constants, which were in relation to the decrease of singlet oxygen formation.
