This paper deals with the high efficient vector control for the reduction of copper losses of the doubly fed motor. Firstly, the feedback linearization control based on Lyapunov approach is employed to design the underlying controller achieving the double fluxes orientation. The fluxes# controllers are designed independently of the speed. The speed controller is designed using the Lyapunov method especially employed to the unknown load torques. The global asymptotic stability of the overall system is theoretically proven. Secondly, a new Torque Copper Losses Factor is proposed to deal with the problem of the machine copper losses. Its main function is to optimize the torque in keeping the machine saturation at an acceptable level. This leads to a reduction in machine currents and therefore their accompanied copper losses guaranteeing improved machine efficiency. The simulation and experimental results in comparative presentation confirm largely the effectiveness of the proposed DFIM control with a very interesting energy saving contribution.
This study presents a novel method for reducing the switching losses of an asymmetric half-bridge converter for a three-phase, 12/8 switched reluctance motor operated in low speed. In particular, this study aims to reduce the switching-off losses of chopping switches in the converter when operated in the current regulated mode (chopping mode). The proposed method uses the mixed parallel operation of IGBT (chopping switch) and MOSFET (auxiliary switch). MOSFET is precisely controlled to momentarily conduct prior to the turn-off interval of the IGBT. Consequently, the voltage across the switches is clamped to approximately zero, substantially decreasing the turn-off switching losses. The analytical expressions of power losses are extensively elaborated. Compared with the conventional asymmetric half-bridge converter, the modified converter can effectively minimize the switching losses. Therefore, the efficiency of the converter is eventually improved. Computer simulation and experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed technique.

Overall TCP performance represented by end-to-end throughput is largely dependent upon its loss recovery performance. In particular non-congestion packet losses caused by transmission errors degrade TCP performance seriously. Using Markov process, we analyze TCP loss recovery performance for correlated packet losses caused by multipath fading. The results show that loss recovery performance can be severely affected by burstiness in packet losses, even if overall packet loss ratio is very low.
In this paper, a loss-minimization nonlinear torque control for Electrical Vehicle(EV) induction motors is proposed. To improve the efficiency of the induction motors, it is important to find the optimal flux reference that minimize power losses. The proposed optimal flux reference is derived using a power loss function that is constructed with stator resistance losses, rotor resistance losses and core losses. And the time-varying load torque and the rotor resistance variation are considered in the power loss function. An algorithm that identifying the load torque is used. The rotor flux observer is used to obtain an accurate flux value regardless of the rotor resistance variation. Simulation results show a significant reduction in energy losses.
BLDC Motor is one of the widely utilizable motors in servo system. The accurate calculation of the power loss for the IGBT and Inverse diode with Bipolar and Unipolar switching modes the driving modes is important for the design of drives for their heat treatment. If it were not for temperature-sensors in devices, it is difficult to get direct power loss, so. Power losses may be modeled by computer modeling to obtain the Calculation of the Power loss for Inverter in BLDC Motor with switching modes which is presented in this paper. The computer modeling is carried out by Matlab simulation. The power loss consists of conduction losses Conduction losses are the source of occurrence due to The IGBT and Inverse diode currents. Switching losses are the source of occurrence due to switching on/off in the devices, and gives the dominant influence to the loss. As a result, the unipolar I mode is best in reducing the heat losses.

Bi-2223 tapes have been developed for low-field power applications at liquid nitrogen temperature. When the Bi-2223 tapes are used in an application such as a power transmission cable or a power transformer, they are supplied with an AC transport current simultaneously. AC loss taking into account such real applications is a crucial issue for power applications fo the Bi-2223 tapes to be feasible. In this paper, the transport losses for different AC current levels and arrangements of the neighboring tapes have been measured in a 1./5 m long Bi-2223 tape. The significant increase of the transport losses due to neighboring tape's AC currents is observed. An increase of the transport losses caused by a decrease of the Bi-2223 tape's critical current is a minor effect. The measured trasprot losses could not be explained by a dynamic resistance loss based on DC voltage-current characteristics in combination with the neighboring tape's AC currents. The trasport losses do not depend on the frequency of the neighboring tape's AC currents but is arrangements in the range of small current especially.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the effect of top dressing on the thatch losses in bentgrass (Agrostis palustris). Top dressing materials used were clay loam, sand, zeolite, and sawdust. Data were taken on July 10 ($T_1$), Aug. 7 (($T_2$ ) and Sept. 4 (($T_3$) respectively. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The dry weight of accumulated thatch was significantly different between treatments and dates of survery, and for the interaction of treatment x date of survey. 2. The dry weight of accumulated thatch showed a tendency to decrease as growth progressed in all treatments. (Table 1) The dry weight of accumulated thatch was the smallest at sand but the largest at clay loam in each date of survey. 3. The losses rate of accumulated thatch showed a tendency to slightly increase as affected by top dressing materials. (Table 2) Sand showed a significantly higher losses rate of accumulated thatch than that of other treatments. 4. The dry weight of accumulated thatch showed a significant negative correlation (p<0.01) with the losses rate of accumulated thatch. (Fig. 1) 5. Turf coverage was significant difference between treatments and dates of survey. 6. Turf coverage showed a tendency to increase as growth progressed in all treatments. (Table 3) 7. Turf coverage indicated significant negative correlation (p<0.001) with the dry weight of accumulated thatch. (Fig. 2)
Bi-2223 tapes have been developed for low-field power applications at liquid nitrogen temperature. When the Bi-2223 tapes are used in an application such as a power transmission cable or a power transformer, they are supplied with an AC transport current and exposed to an external magnetic field generated by neighboring tape's AC currents simultaneously. This paper aims to develop a new chain metrics for obtaining lean Overall Equipment Effectiveness(OEE) and present implementation strategy which considers the properties for Total Productive Maintenance(TPM) to reduce machine losses, Performance Analysis and Control(PAC) to reduce labor losses, Lean Production System(LPS) to reduce floor wastes, and Theory of Constraints(TOC) to minimize the problem of Capacity Constrained Resource(CCR). The study reviews the related literatures and reformulates the structure of machine losses, labor losses and field wastes. The research also develops the integrated productivity metrics according to time, units, reliability and maintainability. It is found that the study develops the actual productivity measure in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and standard productivity. In addition to that, it outlines and develops by using the integrated LPS and TPM, lean OEE measures such as Time Based Productivity(TBP), Unit Based Productivity(UBP), and Reliability & Maintainability Based Availability(RMBA). Implication examples are proposed to make it easier and available for practioners to understand the implementation strategies about TPM OEE, lean OEE and TOC OEE. Futhermore related to other studies, the research contributes to create a new chain productivity measures to clear the interrelationship concepts of productivity, efficiency and effectiveness. Moreover the paper develops the enhanced OEE measures by integration of TPM, PAC, LPS and TOC with the perspective of schedule, throughput, reliability, maintainability and availability.

The objective of this study is to investigate how investors in the Stock Exchange of Thailand practically trade in response to a magnitude of profits and losses, given a discussion of the widely well-known behavioral explanation, so called as the disposition effect. We provide empirical evidence of an existence of the V-shaped disposition effect, which has been recently found in several advanced equity markets. By adopting the methodology suggested by An's (2016) and Fama and Macbeth (1973), we document that stock return patterns in relation to aggregate unrealized gains and losses of investors are consistent with the V-shaped selling schedule, given an increase in unrealized gains and losses over the period of January 1996 to December 2015. The effect of unrealized gains is stronger than that of unrealized losses and this asymmetry underlies the existence of the V-shaped disposition effect in the Thai equity market. Interestingly, the effect of the V-shaped selling schedule is strongest over the short-term holding time horizon. Last but not the least, stocks for which investors have large unrealized gains and losses outperform in the following month and the long-short trading strategy, based on this premise, generates the average 1.7% monthly (equivalent to 20.0% per year) abnormal return.
