유체를 이송하는 직선관의 진동 해석을 위한 새로운 비선형 모델링 (New Non-linear Modelling for Vibration Analysis of a Straight Pipe Conveying Fluid)

  • A new non-linear modelling of a straight pipe conveying fluid is presented for vibration analysis when the pipe is fixed at both ends. Using the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory and the non-linear Lagrange strain theory, from the extended Hamilton's principle are derived the coupled non-linear equations of motion for the longitudinal and transverse displacements. These equations of motion are discretized by using the Galerkin method. After the discretized equations are linearized in the neighbourhood of the equilibrium position, the natural frequencies are computed from the linearized equations. On the other hand, the time histories for the displacements are also obtained by applying the generalized-$\alpha$ time integration method to the non-linear discretized equations. The validity of the new modelling is provided by comparing results from the proposed non-linear equations with those from the equations proposed by Paidoussis.

  • Some missiles using canards as control device adopt rollerons to reduce roll motion due to aerodynamically induced rolling moment. This paper presents equations of motion of these missiles including the gyroscopic effect of rolleron rotors. Some linearized analysis results and simulation results are shown to coincide, thus some characteristic motions of missiles and rollerons can be seen.

  • The motion of dynamically loaded journal in the connecting rod big-end bearings is considered and then equations of motion are derived. Dynamical characteristics of big-end bearings are derived by perturbation method and linearized spring and damping coefficients are calculated.   • Dynamic behaviors are analyzed for an automatic ball balancer (ABB) with triple races, which is a device to reduce the unbalanced mass of optical disk drives (ODD) such as CD-ROM or DVD drives. The nonlinear equations of motion are derived by using Lagrange's equations with the polar coordinate system. It is shown that the polar coordinate system provides the complete stability analysis while the rectangular coordinate system used in other previous studies has limitations on the stability analysis. For the stability analysis, the equilibrium positions and the linearized perturbation equations are obtained by the perturbation method. Based on the linearized equations, the stability of the system is analyzed around the equilibrium positions; furthermore, to confirm the stability, the time responses for the nonlinear equations of motion are computed by using a time integration method and experimental analyses are performed. Theoretical and experimental results show a superiority of the ABB with triple races.

  • In this study, we describe a method to analysis dynamic behavior of an offshore wind turbine in the frequency domain and expected effects of the method. An offshore wind turbine, which is composed of platform, tower, nacelle, hubs, and blades, can be considered as multibody systems. In general, the dynamic analysis of multibody systems are carried out in the time domain, because the equations of motion derived based on the multibody dynamics are generally nonlinear differential equations. However, analyzing the dynamic behavior in time domain takes longer than in frequency domain. In this study, therefore, we describe how to analysis the system multibody systems in the frequency domain. For the frequency domain analysis, the non-linear differential equations are linearized using total derivative and Taylor series expansions, and then the linearized equations are solved in time domain. This method was applied to analysis of double pendulum system for the verification of its effectiveness, and the equations of motion for the offshore wind turbine was derived with assuming that the wind turbine is rigid multibody systems. Using this method, the dynamic behavior analysis of the offshore wind turbine can be expected to take less time.

  • Free vibration of a semi-circular pipe conveying fluid is analyzed when the pipe is clamped at both ends. To consider the geometric non-linearity, this study adopts the Lagrange strain theory and the extensibility of the pipe. By using the extended Hamilton principle, the non-linear partial differential equations are derived, which are coupled to the in-plane and out-of\ulcornerplant: motions. To investigate the vibration characteristics of the system, the discretized equations of motion are derived from the Galerkin method. The natural frequencies are computed from the linearized equations of motion in the neighborhood of the equilibrium position. From the results. the natural frequencies for the in-plane and out-of-plane motions are vary with the flow velocity. However, no instability occurs the semi-circular pipe with both ends clamped, when taking into account the geometric non-linearity explained by the Lagrange strain theory.

  • Linearized equations of motion for the vibration analysis of rotating cantilever plates with arbitrary orientation angle are derived in the present work. Two in-plane stretch variables are introduced to be approximated. The use of the two in-plane stretch variables enables one to derive the equations of motion which include proper motion-induced stiffness variation terms. The equations of motion are transformed into dimensionless forms in which dimensionless parameters are identified. The effects of the dimensionless parameters on the modal characteristics of rotating cantilever plates are investigated through numerical study. The natural frequency loci veering along with the associated mode shape variations, which occur while the rotating speed increases, are also presented and discussed.
