The formal linearization method is an efficient method for constructing multisoliton solution of some nonlinear partial differential equations. This method can be applied to nonintegrable equations as well as to integrable ones. In this paper, we obtain multisoliton solution of generalization Burger's equation and the (3+1)-dimension Burger's equation and the Boussinesq equation by the formal linearization method.
This paper studies on the linearization of a looper system in hot strip mills, that plays an important role in regulating a strip tension or a strip width. Nonlinear dynamic equations of the looper system are analytically linearized by a static feedback linearization algorithm with a compensator. The proposed linear model of the looper is validated by a comparison with a linear model using Taylor's series. It is shown that the linear model by static feedback well describes nonlinearities of the looper system than one using Taylor's series. Furthermore, it is shown from the design of an ILQ controller that the linear model by static feedback is very useful in designing a linear controller of the looper system.

This paper combines the constrained model predictive control with the feedback linearization to solve a nonlinear system control problem with input constraints. The combined approach consists of two steps: Firstly, the nonlinear model is linearized by the feedback linearization. Secondly, based on the linearized model, the constrained model predictive controller is designed taking input constraints into consideration. The proposed controller is applied to two link robot system, and tracking performances of the controller are investigated via some simulations, where the comparisons are done for the cases of unconstrained, constrained input in feedback linearization.
The implementation of Nonlinear Feedback Linearization control for Electro-Magnetic Suspension system is presented. The controller using TMS320C31 DSP chip was proposed and the experiments were performed Control law for EMS system using feedback linearization is derived and implemented in the DSP. Some tests were constructed far experimental comparison between feedback linearization and classical state feedback The experimental results demonstrate that the feedback linearization controller shows bettor performance than that of the classical state feedback controller and it is robust with respect to disturbance and parameter variation, though some steady-state errors appear.
RF power amplifier requires linearization in order to reduce adjacent channel interference. And most of the existing linearization algorithms assume that a PA has memory-less nonlinearity. But for the wider bandwidth signal, the memory effect of PA cannot be ignored. This paper investigates digital pre-distortion by use of a memory polynomial model which compensates for amplifier nonlinearity and memory effect. The look-up table based implementation scheme is used to reduce the computational complexity of the pre-distortion block. The linearization performance is demonstrated on wideband CDMA signal and class AB high power amplifier.
We propose a disturbance observer(DOB) based feedback linearization control to improve position tracking performance in the presence of disturbance. The proposed method consists of a disturbance observer and a feedback linearization controller. The disturbance observer is designed to estimate the load force disturbance in electro-hydraulic systems. An auxiliary state variable is proposed in order to avoid amplification of the measurement noises in the disturbance observer. Using the estimated disturbance enables the Electro-hydraulic servo systems(EHS) dynamics to be changed into feedback linearization from. In order to compensate for the disturbance and to track the desired position, the feedback linearization based controller is proposed. The proposed method has a simple structure which can easily be implemented in practice. As a result, the proposed method improves the position tracking performance in the presence of disturbance. Its performance is validated via simulations.
Methods of nonlinear stochastic analysis of guyed towers are studied in this paper. Two different kinds of nonlinearities are considered. They are the nonlinear restoring force from the guying system and the nonlinear hydrodynamic force. Analyses are carried out mainly in the frequency domain using linearization techniques. Two methods for the linearization of the nonlinear stiffness are presented, in which the effects of the steady offset and the oscillating component of the structural motion can be adequately analyzed. those two methods are the equivalent linearization method and the average stiffness method. The linearization of the nonlinear drag force is also carried out considering the effect of steady current as well as oscillatory wave motions. Example analyses are performed for guyed tower in 300m water. Transfer functions and the expected maximum values of the deck displacement and the bending moment near the middle of the tower are calculated. Numerical results show that both of the frequency domain methods presented in this paper predict the responses of the sturcture very reasonably compared with those by the time integration method utilzing the random simulations wave particla motions.

This paper proposes a feedback-linearization-based control algorithm for multirotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The feedback linearization scheme is highly efficient for considering nonlinearity between the rotational and translational motion of multirotor UAVs. We also propose a dynamic equation that reflects the aerodynamic effects of the vehicles; the equation's parameters can be determined through curve fitting using actual flight data. We derive the feedback linearization controller from the proposed dynamic equation, and propose a Luenberger observer to attenuate measurement noises. The proposed algorithm is implemented using our in-house flight control computer, and we describe its implementation in detail. To investigate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we carry out two flight scenarios: the first scenario, an autonomous landing on a moving platform, is a test of maneuverability; the second, picking up and replacing an object, test the algorithm's accuracy. In these scenarios, the proposed algorithm precisely controls multirotor UAVs, and we confirm that it can be successfully applied to real flight environments.
In this paper, a new-type Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is proposed as a robust nonlinear filter for a stochastic nonlinear system. The original EKF is widely used for various nonlinear system applications. But it is fragile to its estimation errors because they give rise to linearization errors that affect the system mode1 as the modeling errors. The linearization errors are nonlinear functions of the estimation errors therefore it is very difficult to obtain the accurate error covariance of the EKF using the linear form. The inaccurately estimated error covariance hinders the EKF from being a sub-optimal estimator. The proposed filter tries to obtain the upper bound of the error covariance tolerating the uncertainty of the error covariance instead of trying to obtain the accurate one. It treats the linearization errors as uncertain modeling errors that can be handled by the robust linear filtering. In order to be more robust to the estimation errors than the original EKF, the proposed filter minimizes the upper bound like the robust linear filter that is applied to the linear model with uncertainty. The in-flight alignment problem of the inertial navigation system with GPS position measurements is a good example that the proposed robust filter is applicable to. The simulation results show the efficiency of the proposed filter in the robustness to initial estimation errors of the filter.
