Achievements in the real-time soil spectro-photometer are: an improved soil penetrator to ensure a uniform soil surface under high speed conditions, real-time collecting of underground soil reflectance, getting underground soil color images, use of a RTK-GPS, and all units are arranged for compactness. With the soil spectrophotometer, field experiments were conducted in a 0.5 ha paddy field. With the original reflectance, averaging and multiple scatter correction, Kubelka-Munk (KM) transformation as soil absorption, its 1st and 2nd derivatives were calculated. When the spectra was highly correlated with the soil parameters, stepwise regression analysis was conducted. Results include the best prediction models for moisture, soil organic matter (SOM), nitrate nitrogen (NO$_3$-N), pH and electric conductivity (EC), and soil maps obtained by block kriging analysis.

Design of single stage AC/DC converter with high power factor for low power level applications is proposed. The proposed converter gives the good power factor correction, low line current harmonic distortions, and tight output voltage regulations. This converter also has a high efficiency by employing an active clamp method and synchronous rectifiers. To verify the performances of the proposed converter, a 90W-converter has been designed. The modelling of this proposed converter is power formed using an averaging technique and based on this model a detailed analysis is carried out. This prototype meets the IEC555-2 requirements satisfactorily with nearly unity power factor and high efficiency.
Davis-Chandrasekhar-Fermi (DCF) method is a tool that is widely used to obtain the strength of the mean magnetic field projected on the plane of the sky. When there are independent eddies along the line of sight, the variation of polarization angle will decrease by the averaging effect. Therefore, the measured strength of the magnetic field can be overestimated. Cho & Yoo (2016) proposed a modified DCF method considering such effect. By using this, we quantitatively compared the results from the conventional DCF and the modified DCF methods for various sonic Mach numbers and driving schemes (the solenoidal and compressive driving). Here, we present that the modified DCF method does not show a strong dependence on the sonic Mach number or driving schemes either, while the conventional DCF method depends on the sonic Mach number for the compressive driving scheme.

This paper presents a content adaptive interpolation (CAI) for intra deinterlacing. The CAI consists of three steps: pre-processing, content classification, and adaptive interpolation. There are also three main interpolation methods in our proposed CAI, i.e. modified edge-based line averaging (M-ELA), gradient directed interpolation (GDI), and window matching method (WMM). Each proposed method shows different performances according to spatial local features. Therefore, we analyze the local region feature using the gradient detection and classify each missing pixel into four categories. And then, based on the classification result, a different do-interlacing algorithm is activated in order to obtain the best performance. Experimental results demonstrate that the CAI method performs better than previous techniques.

A dynamic model for II-SEPIC(Isolated Inverse-SEPIC) is developed based on the state-space averaging method and its control characteristics are investigated in this paper. Equations for circuit design of II-SEPIC are derived through steady state analysis and the resulted circuit parameters are used in the consequent simulation and experiment works. A structure of control system is devised to obtain better control performance. In order to verify validity and effectiveness of the design equations and dynamic model derived, dynamic control responses of II-SEPIC system against line and load variation are illustrated in both simulation and experiment.
The spin-lattice relaxation times, $T_1$, and spin-spin relaxation times, $T_2$, of the $^{27}Al$ and $^{87}Rb$ nuclei in $RbAl(CrO_4)_2{\cdot}2H_2O$ crystals were investigated. The presence of only one resonance line for the $^{27}Al$ nuclei indicates that the results in a dynamical averaging of the crystal electric field that produces a cubic symmetry field. The changes in the temperature dependence of $T_1$ are related to variations in the symmetry of the octahedra of water molecules surrounding $Al^+$ and $Rb^+$. The $T_1$ values for the $^{27}Al$ and $^{87}Rb$ nuclei are different due to differences in the local environments of these ions. We also compared these $^{27}Al$ and $^{87}Rb$ NMR results with those obtained for $RbAl(CrO_4)_2{\cdot}2H_2O$ crystals. The relaxation mechanisms of $RbAl(XO_4)_2{\cdot}nH_2O$ (X=Cr and S) crystals are characterized by completely different NMR behaviors.
Seven feeding trials were conducted to determine the effects of feeding rate and frequency in the Korean rockfish Sebastes schlegeli at seven different water temperatures. Two feeding-rate experiments for 5-g Korean rockfish at $17^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$; three feeding rate experiments for 16-g Korean rockfish at $16^{\circ}C$ and $24^{\circ}C$; and finally, two feeding frequency experiments for 93- and 100-g at $15^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$ were conducted. Twenty fish averaging $5.5{\pm}0.2$ g ($mean{\pm}SD$) were randomly distributed into 18 indoor tanks containing 40-L seawater from a semi-recirculation system. Fish were fed a commercial diet for 4 weeks at water temperatures of $17^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$. Two feeding trials were conducted to determine the optimum feeding frequency in growing Korean rockfish reared at temperatures of $15^{\circ}C$ and $19^{\circ}C$. Broken line regression analysis of weight gain (WG) indicated that the optimum feeding rates of 5-g growing Korean rockfish were 4.48% (BW/day; BW, body weight) at $17^{\circ}C$ and 4.83% (BW/day) at $20^{\circ}C$. Broken line regression analysis of WG showed optimum feeding rates of 16-g juvenile Korean rockfish of 3.41% (BW/day) at $16^{\circ}C$, 3.75% (BW/day) at $20^{\circ}C$, and 3.34% (BW/day) at $24^{\circ}C$. The biological performance, results, along with morphological indices and serological characteristics, suggest that a feeding frequency of 1 meal/day was optimal to improve WG in growing Korean rockfish grown from 93 to 133 g at a water temperature of $15^{\circ}C$, and 100 to 132 g at $19^{\circ}C$.

In this paper, the channel capacity of a specified wireless indoor multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) channel is estimated by analyzing spatial characteristics of this channel using the three-dimensional ray tracing method, and a technique for deriving an optimized separation of multi-antenna elements is proposed. At first, the ray paths, the path losses, and the time-delay profile are computed using the three-dimensional ray tracing method in an indoor corridor environment, which has the line of sight(LOS) and non-line of sight(NLOS) regions. The ray tracing method is verified by a comparison between the computation results and the measurements which are obtained with dipole antennas, an amplifier and a network analyzer. Then, an MIMO system is positioned in the indoor channel environment and the ray paths and path losses are computed for four antenna-position combinations and various values of the antenna separation to obtain the channel capacity for the MIMO system. An optimum antenna-separation is derived by averaging the channel capacities of 100 receiver positions with four different antenna combinations.

Two feeding trials were conducted to investigate the effects of feeding rate and frequency on growth performance and body composition of juvenile Korean rockfish Sebastes schlegeli reared at $15.0{\pm}0.3^{\circ}C$. In the first trial, three replicate fish groups averaging $2.07{\pm}0.03g$ were fed a commercial diet with one of seven different daily feeding rates: 1.00%, 2.00%, 2.50%, 2.75%, 3.00%, 3.25%, and satiation (3.34%) based on body weight (BW). After four weeks of feeding, fish fed the 3% diet showed significantly higher weight gain (WG) and feed efficiency (FE) than fish that received the other feeding rates. In the second trial, the optimum feeding frequency was evaluated with three replicate fish groups averaging $2.04{\pm}0.03g$. Fish were fed a commercial diet at 2.87% BW with six different daily feeding frequencies: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, or 9 meals. After four weeks of feeding, WG, specific growth rate, FE, and protein efficiency rate in fish fed 3 meals $d^{-1}$ were significantly higher than those of fish fed 7 or 9 meals $d^{-1}$. In both feeding trials, proximate composition of the entire body changed depending on the feeding rate or frequency. A broken-line regression analysis based on weight gain suggested that the optimum daily feeding rate and frequency for juvenile Korean rockfish at $15^{\circ}C$ was 2.9% BW $d^{-1}$ and 2-3 meals $d^{-1}$, respectively.
This study conducts differential analysis on the financial positions of Korean shipping companies before and after the bankruptcy of the H carrier, looking specifically at their financial ratios, profit and loss patterns, and other factors related to their financial operation. Firstly, it was discovered that major measures of financial health, such as average assets per carrier, were not affected by the bankruptcy of the H carrier. However, despite this, most carriers experienced large changes in profits and losses, with total sales and shipping revenues averaging 424.5 billion won and 381.7 billion won respectively before the bankruptcy, but falling by half to 252.1 billion won and 234.6 billion won after the bankruptcy. Additionally, charter revenues and expenses also dropped by more than half. EBIT/sales and pre-tax revenue margins were also heavily affected after the bankruptcy, with both figures averaging 8% and 3% respectively before the bankruptcy, but falling into the negative range at -2% and -8% post-bankruptcy, resulting in significant deterioration in operational profitability. The study concludes that there is an urgent need to establish a global sales network, improve cost structures, and consistently secure stable cargo in order to increase Korean carriers' profitability. Of all financial measures, liquidity and total asset efficiency were identified as the most severely-impacted by the H carrier bankruptcy, thereby requiring the most pressing policy addressing.
