This paper proposes the threshold value selection for surface classification of 3-dimensional objects. Pre-existing method which uses the H-curvature and K-curvature has limitation in the practical threshold value selection. For this, this paper proposes the threshold value selection by the statistical method. Finally, the effectiveness of this paper demonstrated by experiment.

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), a non-parametric productivity analysis tool, has become an accepted approach for assessing efficiency in a wide range of fields. Despite of its extensive applications and merits, some features of DEA remain bothersome. DEA offers no guideline about to which direction relatively inefficient DMUs improve since a reference set of an inefficient DMU, several efficient DMUs, hardly provides a stepwise path for improving the efficiency of the inefficient DMU.In this paper, we aim to show that DEA can be used to evaluate the efficiency of life insurance companies while overcoming its limitation with the aids of machine learning methods.

This paper describes the unified reliability evaluation with partial loss of continuity for complex distribution system. To evaluate reliability considering line limitation of the system, PLOC technique is employed. And reliability indices calculation method is used. Finally, Analytic network process method is employed. As a result, calculating accurate reliability, finding weak points, and expansion scheduling of the system is possible.

In Production system, there are two ; One is the JIT system, which was developed by the Toyota corporation : the other is the MRP system, which was developed in the United States. The JIT system has been proved its effectiveness for production management system by many industries, however the effectiveness of its application in non-repetitive productions is yet uncertain unlike the MRP system. There has been many efforts in comparing and analyzing the usefulness and the limitation of those production systems. Accordingly, this study has focused its simulation model using MRP and JIT.

Plastic IC encapsulation utilizing lead on chip(LOC) die attach technique allows higher device density per unit package area, and faster current speed and easter leadframe design. Nevertheless, since the top surface of the chip is directly attached to the area of the leadframe with a double-sided adhesive tape in the LOC package, it tends to be easily damaged by the leadframe, leading to limitation in its utilization. In this work, it is detailed how the damage of the chip surface occurs, and it is influenced and improved by the LOC construct.

Fuzzy Logic Control immitating human decision making process is a novel control strategy based on expert's experience and knowledge and many process designers are developing its applications. But it is difficult to obtain a set of rules from human operator. And there is a limitation on adjusting to environmental changes. In this paper, we proposed adaptive fuzzy algorithm to overcome these difficulties using weights added to the rules. To verify the validity of this control strategy, we have implemented this algorithm for a DC servo motor with PD-type fuzzy controller.

In this paper, stiffness and damping matrices are experimentally constructed using structural modal information on frequencies, damping ratios and modal vectors, which are obtained by shaking table tests. The acceleration of the shaking table is used as the input signal, and the resulting acceleration of each floor is measured as output signal. The characteristic and limitation of modal information from shaking table test are obtained by Common Based-normalized System Identification(CBSI) technique which is based on time domain information.

The biodegradabilities of surfactants were measured for six kinds of shampoos in domestic market at present, and the phosphates and heavymetals are analyzed. Analysis results show that though they all come up to KS(Korean Industrial Standards), samples containing plenty of AOS and synthetic SLES have the lower biodegradability than the others. We knew the fact that thease smples are petroleum surfactants have the lower biodegradability than surfactants extracted naturally. All of them the contents of phosphates and heavymetals are excellent for limitation of the cosmetic standards.

The shear strength and strain of reinforced concrete beams are predicted by using the Transformated-Angle Truss-Model. This proposed analytical method simplified the fixed-angle softened-truss model (FA-STM) and removed the limitation of applicability of the FA-STM. The results of the proposed method for reinforced concrete beams were compared to those of the FA-STM.

AC to DC single phase PWM converter for traction application requires rated high power and voltage. Therefor, series or parallel operation converters are necessary with considering the limitation of the power device specification. This paper compares the characteristic between two parallel operation of conventional PWM converter and Single phase three level converter about comparison of power circuit, cooling system control method and harmonic current by computer simulation.
