초등과학교육에서 인공지능의 적용방안 연구 (A Study on the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Elementary Science Education)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate elementary school teachers' awareness of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and find out how to apply it in elementary science education. The survey was conducted online and involved 95 teachers working in the metropolitan area. The results of this study are as follows. First, teachers need to learn about the general characteristics of AI and how to apply it to education. Second, science classes had the highest preference for AI among elementary school subjects. Third, the preference for AI application by elementary science field was 68.4% for earth and space, 54.7% for exercise and energy, 32.6% for matter, 27.4% for life. Fourth, AI-based Science Education (AISE) teaching- learning strategies were developed based on AI characteristics and the changing perspective of elementary science education, AISE's teaching-learning strategies are five: 'automation', 'individualization', 'diversification', 'cooperation' and 'creativity' and teachers can use them in teaching design, class practice and evaluation stages. Finally, the creative problem-solving Doing Thinking Making Sharing (DTMS) model was devised to implement the creativity strategy in AISE. This model consists of four-steps teaching courses: Doing, Thinking, Making and Sharing based on the empirical learning theory. In the future, follow-up research is needed to verify the effectiveness of this model by applying it to elementary science education.

  • The article reflects short-term perspectives on the use of information and communication technologies in the training of teachers for higher education. Education is characterized by conservatism, so aspects of systematic development of the industry are relevant to this cluster of social activity. Therefore, forecasting the introduction of innovative elements of ICT training is in demand for the educational environment. Forecasting educational trends are most relevant exactly in the issues of training future teachers of higher education because these specialists are actually the first to implement the acquired professional skills in pedagogical activities. The article aims to consider the existing potential of ICT-based learning, its implementation in the coming years, and promising innovative educational elements that may become relevant for the educational space in the future. The tasks of scientific exploration are to show the optimal formats of synergy between traditional and innovative models of learning. Based on already existing experience, extrapolation of conditions of educational process organization with modeling realities of using information and communication technologies in various learning dimensions should be carried out. Educational trends for the next 3 years are a rather tentative forecast because, as demonstrated by the events associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the socio-cultural space is very changeable. Consequently, the dynamism of the educational environment dictates the need for a value-based awareness of the information society and the practical use of technological advances. Thus, information and communication technologies are a manifestation of innovative educational strategies of today and become an important component along with traditional aspects of educational process organization. Future higher education teachers should develop a training strategy taking into account the expediency of the ICT component.

다운증후군의 Dyrk1A 의존적 뇌기능저하의 치료: 인간 Dyrk1A 특이적 shRNA 발굴 (Treatment of Dyrk1A-dependent Mental Retardation of Down Syndrome: Isolation of Human Dyrk1A-specific shRNA)

  • 다운증후군은 추가적으로 존재하는 인간염색체 21번에 위치한 유전자의 과발현으로 발병한다. 다운증후군 환자에서 보이는 여러 증상들 중 학습과 기억능력 저하와 같은 뇌기능 저하는 다운증후군 환자가 독립적인 생활을 영위하는데 가장 큰 걸림돌이 된다. 인간염색체 21번에 위치하는 Dyrk1A는 신경발달에 중요한 역할을 하는 단백질로 Dyrk1A를 과발현 하는 형질전환 생쥐에서 심각한 해마 의존적 학습과 기억 장애가 보고되었다. 본 연구에서는 인간 Dyrk1A를 과발현 하는 형질전환 생쥐와 RNA interference (RNAi) 방법을 이용하여 endogenous mouse Dyrk1A의 발현은 정상적으로 유지하면서 exogenous human Dyrk1A 발현은 특이적으로 저해함으로써 인간 Dyrk1A 과발현에 의한 학습과 기억 능력저하를 회복시킬 수 있는지 동물모델에서 검증하기 위한 첫 단계로 인간 Dyrk1A 특이적 lentiviral short hairpin RNA (shRNA)를 발굴하였다. 발굴된 shRNA를 이용한 형질전환 모델생쥐에서의 증상의 회복 가능성 검증은 다운증후군의 뇌기능저하 치료제 개발에 중요한 정보를 제공할 것이다.

Habermas의 세 행동체계의 관점에서 본 한국과 미국의 고등학교 가정교과서 식생활 단원의 학습목표와 활동과제 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on Korean and American High School Home Economics Textbooks Based on Habermas's Three Systems of Action: Focusing on the Learning Objectives and Activities)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 우리나라와 미국의 고등학교 가정교과서 식생활 단원을 Habermas의 세 행동체계에 따라 분석하여 세가지 행동체계가 교과서의 학습 목표와 활동과제에 어떻게 반영되어 있는지 알아보는 데 있다. 이러한 목적을 이루기 위해서 우리나라 고등학교 '기술·가정', '가정과학', 미국 고등학교 'Succeeding in life and career' 교과서에서 식생활 단원의 학습목표와 활동과제를 Habermas의 세 행동체계를 기준으로 내용분석 기법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 분석방법은 문장을 통해 맥락 파악이 명확한 것을 해당 행동체계에 상응시켰다. 분석과정에서 한 개로 묶여 있지만 학습 활동이 여러 가지로 되어있으면서 행동체계가 달리 나타나는 경우에는 2가지 이상의 행동체계가 통합되어 있는 것으로 분석하였다. 우리나라 고등학교 '기술·가정', '가정과학' 교과서와 미국 고등학교 교과서' Succeeding in life and career' 식생활 단원의 학습 목표와 활동과제 수는 각각 3개, 26개, 248개로 나타났다. 우리나라 교과서는 의사소통적 행동의 비율이 '기술·가정' 교과서 66.7%, '가정과학' 교과서 50%로 가장 많은 것으로 나타났고, 미국 교과서는 기술적 행동의 비율이 66.5%로 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 기술적 행동과 관련된 활동과제들은 음식을 만들거나, 건강이나 음식에 대한 정보를 조사하거나, 조리 실험 등이 있었다. 의사소통적 행동과 관련된 활동과제들은 건강, 식사 예절과 관련된 역할극을 하거나, 직업 인터뷰나 설문 조사를 하여 결과를 작성하는 활동 등이 있었다. 해방적 행동과 관련된 활동과제들은 건강과 음식과 관련하여 봉사프로젝트 등 사회에 참여하는 활동이나, 식생활에서 일어나는 문제를 찾아 실천적 추론을 통해서 최선의 해결방안을 생각해보는 것이 있었다.

상업용 리튬 배터리의 수명 예측을 위한 고속대량충방전 데이터 정규화 선형회귀모델의 적용 (Application of Regularized Linear Regression Models Using Public Domain data for Cycle Life Prediction of Commercial Lithium-Ion Batteries)

  • In this study a rarely available high-throughput cycling data set of 124 commercial lithium iron phosphate/graphite cells cycled under fast-charging conditions, with widely varying cycle lives ranging from 150 to 2,300 cycles including in-cycle temperature and per-cycle IR measurements. We worked out own Python codes which reproduced the various data plots and machine learning approaches for cycle life prediction using early cycles and more details not presented in the article and the supplementary information. Particularly, we applied regularized ridge, lasso and elastic net linear regression models using features extracted from capacity fade curves, discharge voltage curves, and other data such as internal resistance and cell can temperature. We found that due to the limitation in the quantity and quality of the data from costly and lengthy battery testing a careful hyperparameter tuning may be required and that model features need to be extracted based on the domain knowledge.

학생 중심 스토리텔링을 활용한 과학 수업이 초등학생의 학습 동기 및 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Student-Centered Storytelling on Students' Learning Motivation and Attitude in Elementary Science Class)

  • 본 연구에서는 초등학교 과학 수업에 학생들의 스토리텔링을 적용해보고, 과학 학습 동기 및 과학 관련 태도에 미치는 영향을 조사해보았다. 연구 대상은 4학년 22명(남 10, 여 12)이었고, 주제는 열전달과 우리 생활 단원의 11차시 분량이었다. 연구결과 학생들은 학습한 과학 내용을 적용하여 이야기를 잘 완성하기도 하였으나, 이야기를 쓰거나 발표하는 과정에서 어려움을 느끼는 경우도 있었다. 대응 표본 t-검정 결과에서는 스토리텔링을 활용한 수업이 이전의 과학 수업에 비해 주의, 자신감, 만족감 등의 과학 학습 동기를 향상시키는 것으로 조사되었다. 또한, 학생들의 과학 교과에 대한 태도에서는 변화가 없었으나, 과학적 태도가 향상되었다. 후속 연구로는 다양한 이야기 자료나 스토리텔링 전략의 개발이 요구되고, 그 효과에 대한 연구도 다각도로 진행될 필요가 있다.

동충하초(Cordyceps militaris) 균사체 액체발효 포스트바이오틱스로부터 항염증 활성다당 분리 (Anti-Inflammatory Active Polysaccharide from Postbiotics of Cordyceps militaris Mycelium-Liquid Culture)

  • To investigate the anti-inflammatory activity of submerged culture using Cordyceps militaris mycelium, culture-including mycelia was extracted and lyophilized into postbiotics (hot-water extract; CM-HW). HW was fractionated into crude polysaccharide (CM-CP) by ethanol precipitation, and CM-CP was further dialyzed into CM-DCP by dialysis with running water using 12~14 kDa dialysis tube. When the cytotoxicity of subfractions against cells was assessed, no subfraction had a cytotoxic impact that was substantially different from the control groups. In an inflammatory model using LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells, CM-DCP significantly decreased IL-6 and MCP-1 production levels compared to the LPS-control group. CM-DCP also inhibited IL-6 and IL-8 secretion in HaCaT keratinocytes stimulated with TNF-α and IFN-γ. In the meanwhile, the neutral sugar content and mannose ratio of anti-inflammatory CM-DCP were higher than the other fractions, and CM-DCP contained β-1,3/1,6-glucan of 216.1 mg/g. High pressure size exclusion chromatography revealed that CM-DCP contained molecules with a molecular weight range of 5.6 to 144.0 kDa. In conclusion, postbiotics of C. militaris mycelium significantly promoted anti-inflammatory activity, suggesting that neutral polysaccharides including Glc and Man contribute to the anti-inflammation in RAW 264.7 or HaCaT cells.

Flipping EFL Classrooms: Impacts on Students' Achievement and Life Skills Learning

  • This study investigates the impact of flipped classroom strategy in developing students' achievement and acquisition of life skills. The study employed a quasi-experimental design where students were divided into two groups: an experimental (N=22) and a control (N=22). The randomly selected and assigned sample consisted of sixth-year elementary school students studying English as a basic course. The findings revealed statistically significant differences between the two group's means in both achievement and life skills tests in favor of the experimental group. Students of the experimental group who studied using the flipped classroom strategy outperformed the control group who studied in the standard way in achieving the English language and in the life situations test, where the effect size of the use of the strategy was large in both dependent variables. The study is concluded with some recommendations to facilitate the use of flipped classroom strategy for EFL teachers. This can be achieved by training teachers on using the strategy and providing technological resources at schools to implement the strategy efficiently.

몽골대학에서 개인 금융과 올바른 삶 교과간 융합수업 적용 (The Application of Convergence lesson about Private Finance with Life Science subject in Mongolian University)

  • STEAM은 과학, 기술, 공학, 예술 및 수학의 약자입니다. 미래 사회에서 요구되는 창의적 사고력과 핵심 역량을 갖추게 하고 연구 분야에서 빠져나오는 새로운 아이디어를 고안하도록 돕는 것이 중요하다고 여겨진다. 이 연구는 PBL(문제 중심 학습)을 통해 인재를 육성하는 라이프사이언스 과목과 민간금융의 교육적 디자인을 융합시키는 것이다. 협업, 창의력, 비판적 사고, 문제 해결과 같은 기술은 STEAM PBL의 일부이며, 학생들이 효과적이 되도록 해야 한다. STEAM 프로젝트는 학생들에게 독특한 방식으로 문제를 해결할 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다. 왜냐하면 학생들은 이러한 유형의 활동 중에 발생하는 문제를 해결하기 위해 다양한 방법을 사용해야 하기 때문입니다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같습니다. 첫째, 융합과정의 체계적 과정 둘째, 수렴 과정. 셋째, 도로노드 대학교의 구글 강의실 기반 수업을 위한 라이프사이언스 과목과 민간금융의 문제해결와 이 모델을 효과적으로 활용하기 위한 교육적 설계를 적용하는 연구가 시행된다. 학습 동기 부여는 학습 내용의 이해(66.6%) 효과(63.3%) 자기 주도 학습(59.9%) 동기(63.2%) 신뢰(63.3%)를 보여 줍니다.

Use of Multimedia Technologies in Extra-Curricular Works in Order to Improve the Quality of Training of Future Specialists

  • The article deals with the role of extra-curricular work by means of multimedia technologies in order to improve the quality of training of future specialists. An important condition for achieving high results in training specialists is the optimal combination of classroom and independent extra-curricular work of students by means of multimedia technologies. Very significant is the development of student independence, the formation of skills of independent search activity, the ability to take responsibility, independently solve a problem, find constructive solutions, a way out of a crisis situation, and so on. Extra-curricular work forms students' ability to master the techniques of analysis, synthesis, generalization, comparison; develops flexibility of thinking; opens up opportunities for the development and stabilization of positive learning motives to activate the process of mastering knowledge by means of multimedia technologies as a means of forming the personality of a highly qualified specialist. The concept of multimedia as one of the priority areas of Information Technology, which plays a particularly important role in the process of informatization of education, is revealed, and its advantages in education are shown. The advent of multimedia systems optimizes transformations in education, in many areas of professional activity, science, art, etc. The necessity of distance learning to improve the quality of training of future specialists using multimedia technologies in extra-curricular work is justified. The effectiveness of pedagogical support in the process of distance learning is achieved by the following conditions, which is revealed in the article. Various forms and types of extra-curricular work of students that are used in the modern practice of the educational environment of a higher education institution are described. Scientific and informational activity is considered a key area of information activity. The analysis of scientific and information activities in the field of education allows us to identify its main functions, which emphasize the growing role of scientific information in the education system, in particular, extra-curricular work using multimedia technologies. Operational, complete, accurate, targeted information that meets objective and subjective needs becomes an important link between the field of management, science and practice.
