Through the close examination of characteristics of adolescent, social institutions and its programs, and newly added and expanded library reference services. it is founded that new role and qualifications of young adult reference librarians are prerequisite subject. The following are the summary of new role and qualifications of specialized young adult reference librarianship. 1. Adequate training and education for the YA librarians is needed in order to have understanding of their characteristics (physiology, psychology, personality etc.). 2. Because of librarian's unique exposure to human relations and their personal awareness of other people's need, YA librarian should bring a person-centered managerial technique. 3. Librarianship may not have a clinical counseling function but to provide right answer or information, the librarian become counselor inescapably. 4. Librarians are not professionally trained to be experts on counseling in sex education. However, librarians can play an important role in educating YA by committing book selection, reader's advisory, referral services, library programming and staff development planning.

도서관마케팅은 이용자 만족의 극대화를 위해 이용자집단분석 및 요구분석을 하고, 그에 부응하는 도서관 상품 및 서비스를 개발하며, 이를 적극적으로 고객집단에게 알리기 위해 필요하다고 보며, 이러한 업무를 효과적으로 수행하기 위해서는 반드시 훌륭한 도서관마케팅전문사서가 필요하다고 본다. 이에 본 연구에서는 도서관마케팅전문사서에 대한 정의 및 그의 역할, 효과적인 도서관마케팅 전략을 기획하고 개발하기 위해 그들이 갖추어야 할 자질 및 역량, 그리고 이러한 마케팅전문사서를 양성하기 위한 방안까지 구체적으로 제시하고자 하였다.

우리나라 사서교사의 양성현황과 수요전망을 통해서 사서교사 양성체제와 수급의 문제점을 지적하고 대안을 제시하였다. 특히 사서교사의 교육체제, 양성기관 현황 및 양성인원을 바탕으로 사서교사의 양성능력을 전망하고, 사서교사 선발현황과, 한국도서관협회 기준, 학교도서관진흥법의 기준을 적용하여 필요한 사서교사의 수요를 분석하였다. 그 결과 사서교사 수급불균형의 문제점을 지적하였고, 미래의 수요에 필요한 적정 인원을 양성하기 위한 방법으로 일반대학 문헌정보학과 교직과정 승인인원의 재조정과 사범대학의 문헌정보교육과의 신설을 제안하였다.

Traditionally, the emphasis of the information services had been placed on the information provider's knowledge of information sources or information systems. However, in view of the increasing complexity of the information environment. and changes taking place in information professions the evaluation of the information services has callded for further research in interpersonal communication aspects of the librarian user interface especially that which links to user satisfaction. This experimental study was carried out for the purpose of exploring the implications of nonverbal behaviors in measuring user satisfaction in the light of the fact that the meaning of nonverbal clues includes more than verbal communication especially in dealing with variable barriers even though they operate at low levels of awareness. In this sense, among the wide range of nonverbal communication areas in particular kinesics, artifacts and the proximics were examined to suggest alternative model which can be applied effectively in our specific set of information work environment. Two major university libraries and two research libraries in Korea were chosen and visited for the anlysis and per each refernce/information interview the librarian's nonverbal behaviors were checked on the observer's checklist and the qustionnaires completed by the user at a time. On the basis of these data firstly, the relation of user satisfaction concerned with the librarian's nonverbal communication to user satisfaction with information services was analyzed and the possible communication barriers were investigated. In addition, the effect of training the information librarian with positive nonverbal communication skills on the user's satisfaction was analyzed in a SAS computer program in the area of kinesics. On the other hand, the effect of other nonverbal behaviors such as proximics and artifacts known very important clues to improving a complex human interaction was discussed along with their experimental results. In conclusion, it was found that most of users were not sensitive to the importance of nonverbal behaviors exposed by the information librarian, but it was proved that the ultimate user satisfaction and the satisfaction of the librarian's nonverbal behaviors are correlated positively, Moreover, nonverbal behaviors displayed by the trained librarian toward the user had a considerable effect on the user's evalution of information services compared with those by the untrained. These findings imply that in order to control the librarian's nonverbal behaviors and to help the user overcome his barriers the information librarian as a specialist needs to assure and modify willilingly his communication behavior. Without making effective use of such nonverbal communication, information librarian could not expect to meet the user's information needs either. However, when these positive nonverbal behaviors are applied it would be highly desirable to be aware of cultural and contextual differences. With regard to increasing information services success the applicable nonverbal communication model for library management and education can be suggested as below.

본 연구는 사서학습공동체 운영 가능성과 성공적인 도입을 위해 사서학습공동체에 대한 사서의 인식 및 수요를 조사한 것이다. 이를 위해 도서관 현직 사서를 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였고 총 474건의 응답을 수집하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사서학습공동체에 대해 사서는 매우 낮은 인식을 지니고 있었지만 사서학습공동체 운영의 취지와 의미에 대해서는 높이 평가하였다. 둘째, 사서학습공동체의 참여동기는 전문성 신장, 동료들과의 연대, 지적 호기심 충족 등의 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 사서는 사서학습공동체의 궁극적 가치로 도서관 서비스 개선, 전문성 함양, 협력적 집단 탐구, 가치와 비전 공유의 순으로 응답했다. 넷째, 사서학습공동체의 성공요인은 구성원의 자발성, 구성원 간의 협력 문화, 일과시간 확보(주 1회), 지원 환경(예산, 공간 등) 등 순으로 나타났고, 실패 요인은 사서 업무 과중으로 인한 시간 부족, 구성원의 자발성 부족, 기관장의 무관심, 지원 환경(예산, 공간 등)의 부족으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 사서의 사서학습공동체 참여의지는 매우 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 관심있는 주제 또한 매우 다양하게 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 사서학습공동체 운영 시, 실질적인 운영 방식의 결정이나 주제 선정 등의 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

본 연구에서는 정책관련 전문도서관에서 근무하는 정책정보전문사서에게 요구되는 자질, 자격, 직무 등을 도출하여 제안하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 전문사서관련 문헌자료들을 총체적으로 분석하였고, 또한 국내외 구인구직사이트에 제시하고 있는 정책정보전문사서의 자격, 자질, 직무 등을 분석하였으며, 이 과정을 통해 도출한 내용을 설문문항으로 개발하여 관련 분야 전문사서들을 대상으로 설문을 수행하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 정책정보전문사서에게 요구되는 문헌정보학 학력은 문헌정보학 석사가 가장 높게 나타났고, 정책관련 분야 학력도 석사가 가장 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 정책정보전문사서에게 요구되는 경력의 중요도에 대해서는 정책정보관련 참고서비스 제공 경험 및 경력이 가장 높게 나타났으며, 최소 6년 이상의 도서관 분야 경력 중 최소 2년 이상의 정책정보관련 분야 경력, 정책정보관련 교육 경험 및 경력 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 정책정보전문사서에게 요구되는 자질의 중요도에 대해서는 뛰어난 정책정보관련 자료탐색 능력이 가장 높게 나타났으며, 정책정보에 대한 지식 및 정책정보관련 자원에 대한 지식, 정책정보관련 분야의 현 트렌드에 대한 지식, 원활한 대인관계 능력 순으로 나타났다. 넷째, 정책정보전문사서가 수행해야 하는 역할 및 직무에 대한 조사에서는 정책정보서비스 기획이 가장 높게 나타났고, 정책정보서비스 제공, 정책정보 장서관리 순으로 나타났다.

본 연구에서는 국내외 전문사서에 대한 수요조사 분석을 수행함으로써 전문사서의 유형을 개발하고자 하며, 이러한 전문사서들이 갖추어야 할 최소한의 자격요건을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 미국, 영국, 캐나다의 사서 구인사이트 조사 분석을 통한 수요조사와, 국내 현장사서들을 대상으로 전문사서에 대한 수요조사를 실시하여, 전문사서 유형을 제안하고자 한다. IFLA 및 ALA에서 정의하는 전문사서의 자격요건을 조사하고 실제 구인기관에서 전문사서에 대하여 요구하는 자격요건을 조사하였다. 연구결과, 국내외 수요분석을 통하여 전문사서 유형을 주제별(7종), 기능별(12종), 대상별(2종)로 추출하였으며, 전문사서의 자격요건을 다음과 같이 제안하였다: (1) "학부 혹은 석사과정에서 문헌정보학을 전공한 석사학위 소지자로서 도서관 관련 6년 이상의 경력 중 2년 이상의 해당분야 경력자," (2) "2급 정사서로서 총 9년 이상의 도서관업무 담당 경력 중 2년 이상의 해당분야 경력자로서 해당 교육과정 이수자."

현재 우리나라에서 학교교육과정에서 학교도서관의 역할이나 정보활용교육의 종류는 학교도서관 이용법, 독서교육, 학교도서관연계 수업모형 개발, 사서와 교과교사 협력하는 통합교육 등으로 나눌 수 있으며, 단위학교별 그 수준 편차는 다양하게 나타난다. 이러한 이유는 정보활용교육을 담당할 사서의 부재와 학교도서관에 대한 기본적인 인식과 제도의 환경 때문에 교과교사 중심의 정보활용교육이 이루어지고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 학교도서관을 활용한 다양한 프로그램의 효용성 평가는 대체적으로 긍정적인 효과를 보여주고 있다. 이는 앞으로 학교교과과정 내에 정보활용교육이 자리매김하는 경우에는 현재보다 장기적인 관점에서 정보활용교육의 효용성을 더욱 극대화 시킬 수 있음을 나타내주고 있다. 이를 위해서 정보활용교육을 교과과정 내에 통합하는 정책적 측면과 교과과정 분석 그리고 사서교사의 전문인 양성의 실천적인 방법이 요구됨을 제언한다.

The purpose of the study was to explore the uses and gratification of social media among first-year student groups at a satellite campus of a public university in Ghana. The study employed a descriptive survey design. The study involved all 1061 first-year university students in six academic departments of the College. A total of 680 (64%) participants returned validly completed copies of the questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and thematic analysis were employed for data analysis. The findings indicate that WhatsApp was the most popular application for social media groups, while a need for information-sharing, peer-tutoring and learning, and finding and keeping friends were the primary motivations for joining social media groups. First-year students are involved mainly in reactive activities, as most engage when solving an academic assignment through group discussions. Though challenges persist, such as posting of unwanted images, inadequate participation, and ineffective and irrelevant communication, most are willing to continue their social media groups' membership in the long term. This study provides valuable insight into transitioning students' lived experiences on social media from the group perspective. These insights are valuable conceptually and practically to academic counsellors, librarians and student affairs officers who are expected to provide on-going education on (social) media literacy to first-year students to enhance the adjustment process. The study is the first of its kind in Ghana that investigates social media group participants' exit intentions.

본 연구는 주제전문사서 양성을 위하여 문헌정보학과의 교육과정에서 교육이 이루어져야 하는 필요성을 바탕으로, 이러한 교육이 주제전문사서에 대한 인식을 제고시키고, 진로결정 의사능력을 강화하는데 도움이 될 것을 증명하는데 목적을 두었다. 연구는 크게 두 가지 내용으로 구성되었다. 첫째, 대표적인 주제전문사서양성 사례들을 조사하였다. 둘째, 상명대학교의 '의학용어와 MeSH', '보건의학정보원' 수강생들을 대상으로 주제전문사서와 주제전문서비스에 대한 인식 제고, 진로 결정능력 향상 등을 설문 조사하였다. 주요한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 응답자 대부분이 의학사서와 의학정보서비스의 필요성을 인지하고(88.7%), 의학사서의 역할을 이해하며(92.5%), 의학정보서비스의 유형과 기능에 대하여 더욱 잘 알게 되었으며(100%), 전문직으로써 의학사서에 대한 자부심을 더욱 더 자각하게 되었다(83%). 둘째, 의학도서관으로의 취업의사를 갖거나(45.3%) 의학정보서비스 업무 담당 의사를 보인(26.4%) 응답자는 앞의 다른 질문의 응답자 수보다 현저하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 교과목 수강 여부, 수강 과목의 수, 학년에 따른 통계적인 차이는 없었고, 의학사서와 의학정보서비스에 대한 이해도 면에서는 수강자가 비수강자보다 높았고, 의학사서 취업 의사에 있어서는 비수강자가 수강자보다 다소 높은 수준을 보여주었다. 넷째, 문헌정보학과 교육과정 안에서의 교육은 지식습득에는 효과적이지만 취업의사나 진로결정의 부분에서는 오히려 조심스러운 입장을 갖게 하는 것으로 볼 수 있었다. 마지막으로 의학주제에 대한 어려움과 낯설음을 극복할 수 있도록 교과목을 개선할 필요가 있음을 제안하였다.
