  • The purpose of this study was to examine teaching strategies from cognitive learning theory applied to medical education and to present specific applications of the strategies and cases. The results of this study yielded (1) seven teaching strategies and specific sample activities that instructors can use based on learning processes in medical schools; (2) nine instructional events to which cognitive learning strategies were applied; (3) principles of curriculum design from a cognitive perspective; and (4) instruction cases employing cognitive teaching strategies. Cognitive learning theory has two implications: first, if instructors in medical schools apply the results of the study to design a class and curriculum, it would be possible for them to minimize cognitive loading of the learners that may stem from ineffective teaching strategies or curricula; second, cognitive teaching strategies that seek improvement in thinking skills could provide useful teaching strategies for medical education, which aims to develop experts with high-level thinking processes. In this sense, cognitive learning theory is not an out-of-date learning theory, but one that can be effectively applied in current medical education.

  • To determine efficient methods of database teaching, this paper applied the situated learning theory to the teaching and learning method and analyzed the effects. Previous related studies were also examined, with the essential contents in database analyzed based on Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives. Moreover, this paper presented a strategy wherein the contents of database learning are classified into two categories: basic knowledge and technical and extended knowledge. Experimental and control groups were selected based on related studies, and the effects of database teaching and learning method, determined by technique and attitude area as well as knowledge area. After preparing and applying to the teaching and learning method the actual educational curriculum, the following results were drawn: (1) the experimental group showed better performance in terms of understanding the concept of database, operating database, and constructing a database table when the situated learning theory was applied to the teaching method, and; (2) the experimental group was also more receptive compared to the control group, which opted to take technique-oriented database courses. Therefore, various teaching and learning methods aside from the situated learning theory should be applied and analyzed in database and computer science fields for maximum effects.

  • Creative teaching methods can be beneficial in enhancing creativity and self-directed learning abilities in the classroom. However, there may be some specific learning tasks where applying creative teaching methods can be difficult. This is because students may not have completed the necessary prerequisite learning before performing the learning task, leading to low reliability of task results or meaninglessness. This study aims to propose teaching methods that enhance creativity and self-directed learning ability when performing learning tasks that may not have sufficient prior learning. To achieve this, we present a case of applying creative teaching methods to a learning task called "national threats". As a research procedure, we provide a suitable teaching method model and detailed procedures for the given learning task, and apply them in actual classes. The results showed that applying the presented teaching methods for the learning task produced meaningful academic achievements. This study can be valuable not only for enhancing creativity in education but also for interdisciplinary research in fields such as education and national security.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of learning flow, learning interest, and academic achievement by dividing the time when class was taught by Havruta. The Havruta teaching method is a traditional Jewish method of learning, with a one-on-one discussion with a partner that has a positive impact on each other. Havruta teaches learners through various perspectives and perspectives, helping them to improve their learning ability by attracting new ideas and solutions. In the computer lab, there is a big difference between the students according to the learner's abilities. Therefore, it is thought that the Havruta teaching method will help the learners who have lost interest in learning and improve the learning ability in the conventional way which does not consider personal abilities. do. In this paper, based on the friendship teaching model of the Havruta teaching style, the experimental group was taught through the Havruta practice and the play. Through the pre- and post-test, the students who taught the class with the help of the verbal method improved the learning flow, the learning interest and the academic achievement.

  • The world has witnessed a phenomenal growth in information and communication technologies (ICT). The development of new broadband communication services convergence of telecommunication with computers and recent developments in the field of communication protocol have fostered challenges as well as offerings in the wide-ranging use of ICT to support the creation of dynamic and interactive teaching and learning environment. By emergence of ICT, most of education and training institutions are struggling to integrate ICT and education and training systems. It is so important to apply proper delivery systems for utilization of the computerized teaching and learning contents in the classrooms. It will be a preliminary activity for building open and flexible distance teaching and learning systems in developing countries. In this paper, we would like to suggest and recommend the proper delivery systems for utilization of the computerized teaching and learning contents in the classrooms for education sector reform in developing countries.

  • The purpose of the study is to search for on teaching and learning to improve creativity in home economics education. It has been important for students to formulate and solve problems about home and family through creative thinking, home economics educators have to provide these teaching and learning methods. This research's methods were to search the importance of creativity in home economics education and the relevance between home economics and creativity, then to find the problems of some recent creativity education and formulate the assumption for creativity education in home economics education. Finally, it was presented the examples of teaching and learning to improve creativity. In above the process, we have to recognize as belows; 1. The teaching and learning methods in home economics education need the creativity for formulating problems and finding the elements which effect on practical problems. 2. It is properly selected to some teaching and learning methods in home economics education, and many methods to improve creativity may be included the assumptions for self-realization and moral responsibility.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a teaching/learning model for the mathematical enculturation of elementary and secondary school students. It is clear that the development of teaching and learning in the classroom is essential for the realization of global innovations in mathematics education. Research questions for this purpose are as follow: (1) What can be learned from literatures reviews of the socio-cultural perspective on mathematics education, and of ethnomathematics as a mathematics intrinsic to cultural activities? (2) What is the direction of teaching and learning from the perspective of mathematical enculturation? (3) What is the teaching /learning model for mathematical enculturation? (4) What is the instructional exemplification based on the developed model? This study promotes the establishment of mathematics education theory from the review of literatures on the socio-cultural perspective, the development of a teaching/learning model, and the instructional exemplification based on the developed model.

  • The purpose of this study is to find oui the effects of teaching mathematical concepts by designing and applying teaching and learning programs that takes into consideration the students' strong intelligence, through the teaching and learning strategies based on the multiple intelligences theory. For this study, developmental and experimental research was conducted. In the developmental research part of the study, teaching and learning programs for teaching the concept of multiplication were designed and the activities based on the multiple intelligences were chosen. On the other hand, in the experimental research part, the data acquired from the application of nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design in the actual classes was processed and analyzed. The results above indicate that the teaching and learning program based on the multiple intelligences theory improved the students' overall understanding of mathematical concepts by providing various types of activities. In addition, this program helped students to increase their confidence and generate a positive attitude towards learning math.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate a structural relationship among elementary students' self-determinant learning motivation, teaching-presence and learning outcomes (learning satisfaction, persistence) in blended learning environment. Participants were 5th and 6th grade students who enrolled in a mathematics learning service. The results showed that self-determinant learning motivation had direct effect on teaching presence, learning satisfaction and learning persistence. Teaching Presence had an direct effect on learning satisfaction and learning satisfaction had an direct effect on learning persistence. Based on the results, proper strategies were recommended to facilitate self-determinant learning motivation and teaching presence before and during learning since they play critical roles for the success of elementary students learning outcomes in a blended learning environment.
