Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the relation between cervical spine lateroflexion and upper limb numbness after whiplash injury by traffic accident. Methods : Outpatients who visited Jaseng korean medicine hospital after traffic accident took cervical MRI. Patients who had Normal disc and bulging disc were reviewed to measure the cervical lateroflexion by C2-C7 Cobb's angle & scalenus muscle's length through neutrality AP X-ray views. For statistics, we used SPSS version 18.0 for windows. Results : Groups classified into difference of scalenus muscle's length were showen statistical significance than into cobb's angle. Means of numbness group's length difference are $4.18{\pm}2.26mm$ and that of non-numbness group is $1.59{\pm}1.17mm$. Unilateral numbness group had greater angle and longer of length's difference than non-numbness group. Conclusions : The more severe the lateroflexion of the upper extremity numbness occurs well. Group classifed into difference of scalenus muscle's length has more tendency of occurrence of upper limb numbness than that into cobb's angle. And upper limb numbness occurs more frequently at the same direction of lateroflexion.

The purpose of this study was to report the clinical effects of Korean medicine on a patient who suffered from Irritable Bowel Syndrome with diarrhea, abdominal pain, and anorexia for few months. The patient was treated with herbal medicine, acupuncture, and moxibustion in combination with Western medicine for 7 weeks. The clinical symptoms (diarrhea, abdominal pain, and anorexia) were improved after Korean medicine treatment. Therefore, this case is useful for describing Korean medicine treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and further case reports and studies will be needed in the future.

Objectives To report two patients with distal raidus fracture after a traffic accident improved by the complex of Korean medical admission treatment. Methods We collected data from April 2019 to October 2019. We surveyed the validity of the treatment with the range of motion (ROM), the European quality of life-5 dimension (EQ5D) and a numerical rating scale (NRS) at admission, two weeks, and discharge date of hospitalization. Results At the end of treatment, both patients had increased ROM, EQ5D and reduced NRS scores. Conclusions After the Korean medicine admission treatment, two patients showed to have been effective.

This case report relates to a 40-year old male patient diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis who was treated with acupotomy and traditional Korean medicine. He showed a significant improvement in joint range of motion (ROM) in cervical and lumbar vertebrae, and in pain and functional disorder symptoms. The patient received acupotomy, acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, herbal medicine and physical therapy (November 26, 2018 to December 17, 2018). Joint ROM for cervical and lumbar vertebrae was measured, and the pain level was assessed using a numerical rating scale. The functional disorder and quality of life scales were also assessed using the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index, Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index, Korean Health Assessment Questionnaire, and Modified Health Assessment Questionnaire. After applying acupotomy and traditional Korean medicine, the patient exhibited increased joint ROM and reduced pain, also in conjunction with improved responses in functional disorder and quality of life.

A review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) using electroacupuncture (EA) to treat patients with foot drop was performed to analyze the effectiveness of EA for this condition. Relevant studies (n = 183) from 7 databases (Cochrane Library, Excerpta Medica Database, PubMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Korean Studies Information Service System, Research Information Sharing Service, and Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System) were selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and 12 RCTs met the selection criteria. In all 12 studies, EA showed significantly positive changes. In most indicators, positive changes were observed in the EA group compared with that in the control group. Significant increases were confirmed in muscle strength-related indicators such as the Fugl-Meyer motor scale, surface electromyography, active range of motion, and gait-related indicators such as the Tinetti score, maximum walking speed, and Berg balance scale. No notable adverse events were reported. EA is suggested as an effective treatment for post-stroke foot drop; however, more RCTs are required.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to report the clinical improvement of aggravated functional dyspepsia due to COVID-19 with Korean medicine treatment. Methods: To assess treatment outcomes, we used the GIS (Gastrointestinal Symptom Score), European Quality of Life-5 Dimensions (EQ-5D) scale, and Numeral Rating Scale (NRS). Results: After treatment, the patient's clinical symptoms improved, as indicated by GIS, EQ-5D, and NRS scores. Conclusions: Korean medicine treatment improved late complications in COVID-19 patients. This finding suggests the possibility of Korean medicine treatment for long-term COVID infections.

Objective : This study aimed to investigate Korean medical students' satisfaction with Korean medicine education and their trust in Korean medicine. It also explored the factors affecting satisfaction with Korean medicine education and trust in Korean medicine. Methods : Based on a total of 381 survey responses, the satisfaction with Korean medicine education, reflection of educational needs, trust in Korean medicine, reasons for maladjustment to education, and suggestions for improving education were analyzed. Results : Satisfaction with Korean medicine education and trust in Korean medicine were generally above average. However, reflection of educational needs was below average. It was found that the curriculum should be rearranged according to the needs of premedical students and medical students. The factors affecting satisfaction with Korean medicine education were gender, academic year, dropout experience, trust in Korean medicine, and reflection of educational needs. Factors affecting trust in Korean medicine were gender, academic year, and satisfaction with Korean medicine education. Conclusion : This study found that satisfaction with Korean medicine education and trust in Korean medicine have a reciprocal relationship. To improve students' satisfaction and adjustment to Korean medicine education, it is necessary to implement strategies to increase students' trust in Korean medicine. In addition, it is important for students and instructors to collaborate on curriculum design by establishing a feedback system that reflects students' needs.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to figure out the treatment of coldness in hands and Feet by using Delphi survey. Method : This study was approved by institutional review boards at Kyung Hee University. Self recording type delphi survey were sent by e-mail to 55 Korean medicine specialists (19 gynecologist, 36 internal medical doctors) who treat coldness in hands and Feet. And replies were analyzed. As this study is cross sectional study, simple descriptive analysis was applied. Results & Conclusion : Herbal medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion were mainly applied and extract (granule), pharmacopuncture, bee venom pharmacopuncture and cupping therapy were also added case by case. Treatment was done twice a weak for 4 months. Cupping therapy was done at GB21 and SI11. Bee venom pharmacopuncture and Kidney yang deficiency pharmacopuncture were applied at ST36, GB21, CV4 and LR3. As extract (granule) Ijungtang, Dangguisayeokgaosuyusaenggangtang and Dangguisayeoktang were mainly used and as herbal medicine formula Palmijihwangwon, Bojungikgitang, Ijungtang, Danggwisayeok-gaosuyusaenggangtang and Danggwisayeoktang were mainly prescribed. Comprehensive treatment of acupuncture, moxibustion and herbal medicine was considered to have more effective and more rapid result than single treatment of herbal medicine have.

Objective: The aim of this study was to report the effectiveness of traditional Korean medicine treatment of a gait disturbance in a patient with idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus induced by secondary Parkinsonism. Methods: The patient was treated with Korean herbal medicine (Yukmijihwang-tang-gami), acupuncture, moxibustion, and rehabilitation exercise. The gait of the patient was evaluated by the 10 m Walk Test, Timed Up and Go (TUG) test, 360° turning test, Functional Ambulatory Category (FAC), and GAITRite. Results: After 20 days of traditional Korean medicine treatment, we observed improvement in the symptoms of the gait disturbance. Conclusion: Traditional Korean medicine treatment might be effective in the treatment of gait disturbance in patients with idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus induced by secondary Parkinsonism.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the improvement of a patient diagnosed as iatrogenic Cushing syndrome treated with herbal medicine. Methods : We treated a patient diagnosed as iatrogenic Cushing syndrome with s Wiryeong-tang gagam and Sinbeopbanha-tang for 10days. While being treated with herbal medicine, the patient got acupuncture treatment two times a day. Results : After treatment, weakness of lower limb and tremor got improved. Vomiting and disgusting also got better. Conclusion : Using herbal medicine may improve various symptoms of iatrogenic Cushing syndrome effectively.
