This study examines the current state of English education in private kindergartens in Korea. Among 1700 kindergarten teachers surveyed for this research, 680 replied that their institutions provided English lessons for children. Analyses of the data collected from these 680 teachers showed : 1) They started to teach English not because of educational considerations but because of pressure from children's parents or kindergarten principals; 2) Most of the English teachers were part-time instructors specially recruited for English lessons. Generally, English lessons were given two or three times a week, with one session lasting for about 20 minutes. A variety of teaching methods and materials were used for the lessons given to children aged three to five. Focus of the lessons was given to listening and speaking words and sentences; 3) Most of the teachers considered the scarcity of qualified English instructors as the most serious problem for providing English education in kindergartens, and they did not want to teach English themselves. They evaluated positively the performance and role of Korean part-time English instructors. The evaluations were generally poor as to native speakers serving as kindergarten English teachers.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences between the kindergarten teachers and teachers working at child care centers in terms of their professionalism, teaching efficacy and their perceptions regarding the integration of kindergarten and child care centers. Furthermore, this study examined whether those differences which were revealed were found between the subjects by their college major degree and place of employment. The 598 teachers who served as subjects for this study completed self-administered questionnaires. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, chi-square tests and t-tests. The main results were as follows. The significant differences were found between the subgroups by college major degree in teaching efficacy and perceptions regarding the integration system. In addition, the subjects from child care centers had higher levels of teaching efficacy than their counterparts in other work environments, even though they had majored in the same subjects of early childhood education.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the kindergarten teachers operation and demand of dietary education in Jeonbuk province. The study was carried out using a self administered questionnaire and the subjects were 148 kindergarten teachers. The questions were general characteristics of the subjects, operating status as frequency, place, education time, and training demand on dietary education. The results are as follows. All subjects were female(100.0%), more than half were 20's(62.8%) in their age, teaching career was 31.8% in less than 3 years, and 68.2% in more than 3 years. Frequency of the dietary education operation was 3 times per week(53.4%), place of education were classroom(81.9%), and education time was lunch time(87.5%). Twenty three point eight percent of the subjects recognized the facilities for education was lack, 32.6% of them did the education materials was lack. The desirable frequency of dietary education was 1~2 times per week(40.4%). About two third of the subjects(73.6%) recognized the objects of the dietary education was not only preschool children but also their parents. Most of the subjects(83.8%) had willing to get training, the proper training program was 10 hours(87.8%), and they prefer semester weekday(64.9%) than semester weekend(30.5%). Proper ratio in the core value of dietary education as environment : health : thanks was 31.8% : 40.9% : 27.2%. It is concluded that the demand on dietary education of kindergarten teachers is necessary for their education program in kindergarten.
The purpose of this study was to examine kindergarten teachers' perceptions on early childhood. Questionnaires were distributed to kindergarten teachers throughout Gyeonggi-do areas in Korea. A total of 794 questionnaires from kindergarten teachers were analyzed. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis and percentage, chi-squre verification using SPSS Win 21.0 Program. As a result of the study, it was found that most of the teachers are aware of the high interest and importance of children's value education, and most of them responded that they conduct value education. The recognition that the implementation method should be done through kindergarten life guidance was highest, followed by interaction during play. In the current status of implementation, teachers were mainly practicing values education through life guidance.
Two hundred ten kindergarten teachers participated in this investigation of the relationship between kindergarten teacher's achievement orientation and teacher efficacy. Instruments were the Teacher Efficacy Scale(Lee, 2002) and the Goal Orientation Scale(Lee, 2002). Data analyzed by ANOVA and hierarchical multiple regression analyses revealed that more highly educated and older teachers were more highly oriented toward mastery goals. Teacher high in mastery and in performance orientation exhibited higher efficacy while low mastery oriented teachers were low in efficacy. The influence of performance goal orientation significantly explained the variance in teacher efficacy. The incremental explanation on teacher efficacy by achievement goal orientation after controlling for demographic variables was statistically significant.

The purpose of this study is to gain basic information to manage the free choice activities of kindergarten by investigating the teachers' perception of restriction rules. The subjects of the study were 200 kindergarten teachers who worked in J province. The instrument used for this study was a questionnaire that focused on teachers' perception about the restriction rules for the free choice activities. The results of this study were as follows. First, the teachers considered restriction rules in the art center as the most important factor. Second, the teachers recognized that limiting the number of players in a same center is the most important thing among the three restriction rules. Third, the teachers' perception regarding the necessity of restriction rules is as follows. The rule of restricting the number of players is needed to prevent too many players focusing in a certain center. The rule of restricting play time is necessary to encourage children to play in various centers, and the rule of restricting play space is crucial to solidify the educational purpose that every interest center has. The meaning and the necessity of the restriction rules on children's free choice activities were further discussed as connected with children's right to play.
Objective: The purpose of the study was to examine public kindergarten teachers' concept knowledge on inclusion education and to compare concept knowledge by teacher types (general teachers with experience of inclusion, general teachers without experience of inclusion, and special teachers). Methods: The subjects, sixty early childhood teachers in public kindergarten, were asked to draw concept maps illustrating their understanding of inclusion education for young children. The collected concept maps were analyzed using the methods utilized by Novak and Gowin (1984) as well as You and Kim (2018). Results: The results were as follows. First, 209 superordinate concepts were shown, and they were categorized into 13 representative superordinate concepts. Second, 1,585 subordinate concepts were shown. Among them, partial inclusion, complete inclusion, and teacher cooperation were frequently used. Third, contents of concept knowledge on inclusion education varied by teacher types. Conclusion/Implications: Discussions were included to support and enhance early childhood teachers' content knowledge on inclusion education for young children with special needs.

This study was aimed to examine kindergarten teachers' concerns in physical computing, which corresponds to the innovative teaching method, based on CBAM. For this, a questionnaire survey was conducted targeting 118 kindergarten teachers. Percentile analysis and MANOVA using CBAM model were carried out. As a result of the research, the kindergarten teachers' concern level is analyzed to be a critical non-user pattern on the whole. However, a pattern aspect was shown with a slightly high concern in stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3 compared to a typical type, and with a low concern level in stage 4. In consequence of having implemented MANOVA, the private kindergarten teachers' concern level appeared to be significantly high in stage 4 and stage 6 compared to a public kindergarten. Also, compared to the teachers who plan to utilize physical computing from now on, the teachers who don't have a plan of the application had significantly high concern level in stage 0. The concern level score was significantly low in 1~6 stages excluding stage 3.
The study purposes to survey teacher's and child's difficulties which full day classes of public kindergarten regrouped in the afternoon time are having.
