Relationship between Perception for Appraisal of Perioperative Nurses and Performance and Organizational Commitment (수술실 간호사의 성과 평가에 대한 인식이 조직몰입 및 성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was an analysis of the relationship between perception for appraisal of staff nurses in operating rooms and performance and organizational commitment. Method: The survey was conducted with 176 staff nurses in operating rooms in 2 hospitals in Seoul. Data were analyzed using frequency, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and stepwise multiple regression. Result: 1. Perception for appraisal including accuracy and justice was significantly related to organizational commitment (r=.496, P=.000). Perception for appraisal including accuracy and justice was slightly related to performance (r=.220, P=.003). 2. In order to determine the percentage of the variance of performance and organizational commitment that could be predicted by perception for appraisal, perception for appraisal was entered in the regression equation. Accuracy accounted for 25% of the variance in the organizational commitment. To determine the percentage of the variance of performance that could be predicted by perception for appraisal and organizational commitment, the perception for appraisal and organizational commitment were entered in the regression equation. Organizational commitment accounted for 21% of the variance in the performance. Consequently accuracy predicted organizational commitment. Organizational commitment predicted performance. Conclusions: Findings indicate the need to increase accuracy of performance appraisal to promote organizational commitment and performance in perioperative nurses.

A Study on the Impact of Organization Justice, and Organizational Effectiveness (공정성이 조직효과성에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증 연구)

  • This study has uncovered some important relationships among employees perceptions of distributive justice and procedural justice and organizational effectiveness. The present study attempts, first, to identify the perceived justice in promotion and transfer, performance evaluation, pay raise, job allocation and job fire. Second, to determine the relative importance of distributive justice and procedural justice. relationships of organizational effectiveness. The research is the identification of a modest but significant relationship between the two justice and organizational effectiveness. The result make it clear that employee find that right personnel management of fairness. To summarize the result of three variables's relationship influence is as below. The results indicated that perceptions of procedural justice as much organizational effectiveness than do perceptions of distributive justice. As also predicted, the perception of distributive justice did not impact organizational effectiveness. Therefore, Partially supporting the hypothesis. The research implications of these study suggest that great causality should be this paper' research model in three variables. The result indicate that manager must pay attention to employees perceptions of procedural justice and distributive justice.

The Influence of Organizational Justice on Job Involvement and Organizational Commitment Perceived by Nurses (간호사가 지각한 조직공정성이 직무몰입과 조직몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of organizational justice(distributive justice and procedural justice) on job involvement and organizational commitment in nurses. Method: The subjects were 336 nurses who were working at the 7 hospitals with over 500 beds. The data were collected using structured questionnaire from Mar. 15 to April 16 of 2004. For data analysis, the SPSS/PC program was used. Results: The mean score of distributive justice was 2.77, procedural justice was 2.74, job involvement was 3.26, and organizational commitment was 3.30. The distributive justice were positively correlated with job involvement (r=.188, p<.01) and organizational commitment(r=.264, p<.01), the procedural justice were positively correlated with job involvement(r=.231, p<.01) and organizational commitment(r=.296, p<.01) in nurses. The organizational justice explained 37.5% of the job involvement and 40.4% of the organizational commitment. The procedural justice was shown to expert even more significant effect on both job involvement(${\beta}=.188$, p=.003) and organizational commitment(${\beta}=.219$, p=.001) rather than distributive justice. Conclusion: The procedural justice was ascertained to influence on job involvement and organizational commitment rather than distributive justice in nurses. Therefore, the nursing manager must develop to promote the procedural justice perception of the nurses in order to enhance the job involvement and organizational commitment.

Effects of Childcare Teacher's Perception of Organizational Justice, Collectivism and Job Burnout on Turnover Intention

  • This study is focused on the factors that reduce the high turnover rate of early childhood teachers against the backdrop of their poor work environment including long hours, work overload and low wage by identifying the effects of three sub-factors of justice on the collectivistic tendency and those of the job burnout on their turnover intention. To conduct this study, a survey was carried out childcare teachers of the Seoul and Metropolitan Area. Total of 283 valid female questionnaires were collected and utilized for analysis. According to the analysis, both procedural justice and interpersonal justice have positive effects on the collectivistic tendency and decrease the turnover intention. The interpersonal justice decreases the job burnout, whereas the distributive justice statistically significantly increases the job burnout. Also, the collectivistic tendency reduces the turnover intention. The job burnout increases the turnover intention, which is consistent with previous studies. Hence, increasing the interpersonal justice and the collectivistic tendency could be an option for dealing with the issue.

  • In general, service failure occurs inevitably and the customers who experienced the greater dissatisfaction have the higher expectations of service recovery. However, most of the previous studies have focused on the evaluation and risk factors of pre-service quality. Thus, this study is contrary to the numerous previous studies and focus on the effectiveness of mobile application advertisement users' perceived perception on service recovery after service fails. A research model presented in this study is based on the Equity Theory and deeply evaluated the effectiveness of Distributive Justice, Interactional Justice, and Authenticity Relevance on Service Recovery. The survey of this study was conducted among 286 users who have experienced a services recovery of mobile application advertising. As a result, among all the factors of users of mobile application advertising, Distributive Justice, Interactive Justice, and Relevance have a positive impact to Satisfaction. In addition, Distributive Justice, Authenticity and Satisfaction also have a positive impact to Trust. Ultimately, Satisfaction and Trust have a positive impact to Service Recovery. The results of this study are expected as a reference for presenting a new business model for mobile application advertising industry, reducing business risk and enriching the related researches.

Effect of Justice Perception of Restaurant e-Service Recovery on Customer Behavioral Intentions (외식업체 e-서비스회복에 대한 긍정성 지각이 고객행동에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of justice (distributive, interactional, and procedural) perception of e-service recovery in restaurant businesses on e-service recovery satisfaction, negative word of mouth, trust, and commitment. We designed a quasi-experimental study using eight different scenarios of justice application. One of the eight scenarios was distributed to each respondent to read, and the respondent then answered regarding feelings and subsequent action. Data analysis was based on 232 usable responses. The results imply that interactional justice is more important than other forms of justices in e-service recovery of restaurant businesses, indicating that restaurants must approve the service failure, make an apology to the customer, and maintain a courteous attitude at all times. In addison, the restaurant has to consider an e-service recovery program as a long-term strategy because the effect of e-service recovery in restaurant businesses grows slowly and takes time-consuming effort.

  • The actual complaint handling response of the company serves as an important success factor for the company to reduce defection rate of customers who have complaints. In this regard, this study sought to divide the company's complaint handling response into substantial compensation, favorable employee behavior and organizational procedures, empirically verify the effects of the customer's justice perception on trust and satisfaction, and thus to present the importance of the company's actual response. To this end, the data obtained from a survey of 210 customers who filed complaints directly to the company was analyzed using SPSS and AMOS. The research results can be summarized as follows. The compensation for customers with complaints has a significant effect on justice, and the favorable employee behavior also has a significant effect on justice. In addition, the organization procedures about handling complaints have a significant effect on justice. Especially the justice as justice perception was found to affect the future behaviors of customers such as trust and satisfaction. Based on these findings, this study presented implications and suggested future research.

  • With research findings that the righteous and advanced society relies on the microscopic personal experience related to the justice as well as the perilous reality of 70% of corporate employees in all industrial environment, this study samples employees in the manufacturing and construction industry, both of which take up 40% of all industries, to look into how the awareness of the justice within their organizations influences the organizational commitment through psychological capital and occupational satisfaction; and to understand the beginnings for the macroscopic change. As a result of verifying the interrelationship between the justice and psychological factors, distributive justice and interactive justice are in a positive relationship with the psychological capital while procedural justice shows no influence; the procedural justice and interactive justice are positive with the occupational satisfaction whereas the distributive justice shows no influence. Also psychological capital appears positive with the occupational satisfaction and organizational commitment while occupational satisfaction is positively related to the organizational commitment.

Customer Retention Model in the Medical Service Organization: Focusing on Specialized Hospital Services

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the theoretical basis for assessing the strategic increase in customer perception of service quality, justice, and relationship benefits. Especially in terms of increasing relationship commitment and customer loyalty in the medical service sector. Research design: Data were collected by questionnaires through specialized hospital services. Survey was conducted on patients who have been treated at a spine specialized hospital. Results: Research shows that service quality, justice, and relationship benefits have the greatest direct impact on relationship commitment, and relationship commitment has a strong direct impact on customer loyalty in the medical service organization. Conclusions: The effect of combination of core and voluntary service behavioral attributes such as service quality, justice and relationship benefits have the most positve impact on relationship commitment and customer loyalty. Administratively, this study contributes to understanding the role of service quality, justice, and relationship benefits in the medical service sector. The results showed that in order to induce service quality, justice and relationship benefits should be facilitated relationship commitment and customer loyalty enlarged.

Influence of Organizational Justice and Commitment on Organizational Citizenship Behaviors of Nurses (공정성 지각과 조직몰입이 간호사의 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: To investigate the influence of organizational justice and commitment on OCB(organizational citizenship behavior) of hospital nurses. Method: The subjects were 352 nurses who have been working in seven university hospitals. The data were collected by structured questionnaire from Feb. 12 to Mar. 5 of 2006. The data were analyzed by SPSS Win version 12.0, including descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Stepwise multiple regression. Results: The mean score of OCB was 3.53, distributive justice was 2.74, procedural justice was 2.73, and organizational commitment was 3.28. The OCB had statistically significant differences according to age(F=8.39, p<.000), tenure duration(F=6.53, p<.000), position(F=7.65, p<.000), marital status(t=5.82, p<.000), and religion(t=3.78, p<.000). The OCB was positively correlated with distributive justice(r=.147, p=.006), procedural justice(r=.180, p=.001), and transactional commitment(r=.115, p=.032). The procedural justice(10.6%) and transactional commitment(14.3%) explained 24.9% of the variance for OCB. Conclusion: The findings showed that organizational justice and commitment were important factors for enhancing OCB in nursing organization. Therefore, the nurse manager must establish the strategies to improve the organizational justice and commitment perception of the nurses in order to promote the OCB.
