Polyvinylidene fluoride/fullerene nanoparticle (PVDF/$C_{60}$) composite microfiltration (MF) membranes were fabricated by a non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS) using N, N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc) as solvent and deionized water (DI) as coagulation solution. Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) was added to the casting solution to form membrane pores. $C_{60}$ was added in increments of 0.2% from 0.0% to 1.0% to produce six different membrane types: one pristine PVDF membrane type with no $C_{60}$ added as control, and five composite membrane types with varying $C_{60}$ concentrations of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0%, respectively. The mechanical strength, morphology, pore size and distribution, hydrophilicity, surface property, permeation performance, and fouling resistance of the six membranes types were characterized using respective analytical methods. The results indicate that membranes containing $C_{60}$ have higher surface porosity and pore density than the pristine membrane. The presence of numerous pores on the membrane caused weaker mechanical strength, but the water flux of the composite membranes increased in spite of their smaller size. Initial flux and surface roughness reached the maximum point among the composite membranes when the $C_{60}$ concentration was 0.6 wt.%.
The fatigue strength of a nickel-base superalloy was studied. Stress-controlled fatigue tests were carried out at $700^{\circ}C$ and 5 Hz using triangular wave forms. In this study, two kinds of testing procedures were adopted. One is the conventional tension-zero fatigue test(R = 0). The other was a procedure in which the maximum stress was held at 1000 MPa and the minimum stress was diverse from zero to 1000 MPa at 24 and $700^{\circ}C$. The results of the fatigue tests at $700^{\circ}C$ indicate that the fracture mechanism changed according to both the mean stress and the stress range. At a higher stress range, ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ precipitates are sheared by a/2<110> dislocation pairs coupled by APB. Therefore, in a large stress range, the deformation occurred by shearing of ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ by a/2<110> dislocations, which brought about crystallographic shear fracture. As the stress range was decreased, the fracture mode gradually changed from crystallographic shear fracture to gradual growth of fatigue cracks. At an intermediate stress range, as it became more difficult for a/2<110> dislocation pairs to shear ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ particles, cracks started to propagate in the matrix, avoiding the harder ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ particles. High mean stress induced creep deformation, that is, ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ particles were sheared by {111}<112> slip systems, which led to the formation of stacking faults in the precipitates. Thus, the change in fracture mechanism brought about the inversion of the S-N curves.
Polycarbonate(PC) membranes for oxygen enrichment from air were prepared by the wet phase inversion method. In order to improve oxygen separation performances of the PC membrane, the effect of the added ethanol(nonsolvent) and $CuCl_2$(metal salt) concentration in the casting solution on morphology, oxygen permeability ami $O_2/N_2$ separation factor of the membrane was studied. In addition, tensile strength and elongation at break of the membrane were investigated. An asymmetric membrane with a dense top layer and a porous sublayer was obtained. The thickness of the dense top layer decreased with increasing amount of nonsolvent additive. Compared with pure PC membrane without additive(metal salt), the oxygen permeability and $O_2/N_2$ separation factor of the $PC/CuCl_2$ membrane are significantly improved. The oxygen permeability and $O_2/N_2$ separation factor is $5.25{\times}10^{-9}cm^3(STP){\cdot}cm/cm^2{\cdot}sec{\cdot}cmHg$ and 4.5, respectively. This improvement might be due to good interaction between metal salt and oxygen.
This paper highlights a study undertaken on the free vibration of a precast steel-concrete composite slab panel for track support. The steel-concrete composite slab track is an evolvement from the slab track, a form of ballastless track which is becoming increasingly attractive to asset owners as they seek to reduce lifecycle costs and deal with increasing rail traffic speeds. The slender nature of the slab panel due to its reduced depth of construction makes it susceptible to vibration problems. The aim of the study is driven by the need to address the limited research available to date on the dynamic behaviour of steel-concrete composite slab panels for track support. Free vibration analysis of the track slab has been carried out using ABAQUS. Both eigenfrequencies and eigenmodes have been extracted using the Lanczos method. The fundamental natural frequencies of the slab panel have been identified together with corresponding mode shapes. To investigate the sensitivity of the natural frequencies and mode shapes, parametric studies have been established, considering concrete strength and mass and steel's modulus of elasticity. This study is the world first to observe crossover phenomena that result in the inversion of the natural orders without interaction. It also reveals that replacement of the steel with aluminium or carbon fibre sheeting can only marginally reduce the natural frequencies of the slab panel.
The purpose of this study was to compare the flexibility and isokinetic differences between normal dancers and dancers with chronically sprained ankle. For the experiment Eversion/Inversion testing was performed by a Cybex 770 isokinetic dynamometer at the a speeds of 30$^{\circ}$ /sec and 120$^{\circ}$ /sec on each 7 subject group. The results were; 1) No differences were found between the two groups in ROM of ankle, but ROM of eversion has 2.8$^{\circ}$ higher in the injury group than the normal group. 2) Differences were found between the two groups in peak torque. average power, total work at the evertor and invertor in injury side.(30$^{\circ}$ /sec) 3) Differences were found between the two groups in peak torque at the evertor and invertor in normal side.(30$^{\circ}$ /sec) 4) Differences were found between the two groups in total work at the evertor in normal side. (30$^{\circ}$ /sec) 5) Differences were found between the two groups in peak torque, total work at the evertor and invertor in injury side. (120$^{\circ}$ /sec)
This paper presents unprecedented damped oscillation behaviours of a precast steel-concrete composite slab panel for track support. The steel-concrete composite slab track is an innovative slab track, a form of ballastless track which is becoming increasingly attractive to asset owners as they seek to reduce lifecycle costs and deal with increasing rail traffic speeds. Both undamped and damped eigenfrequencies and eigenmodes have been extracted using the Lancsoz method.
In this study, we executed fundamental experiment to investigate properties of accelerated carbonation with changing chloride content of concrete used sea sand in order to examine durability. So we obtained the results of following properties of mechanics, durability, concrete with sea sand, determined concrete w/C 30%, 40%, 50%, and fine aggregate 40% and changing containing chloride 0, 0.3, 0.6, $0.9kg/m^3$ by the experiment of accelerated neutralization. The results of this study as follows: 1) As result of changing chloride content of concrete used sea sand augmented in stages $0.3kg/m^3$, accelerated carbonation was increased as increment chloride content. The increment depth was decreased as it went long term age. It was shown the chloride content effected increment of carbonation depth in concrete 2) As a result of changing W/C of concrete used sea sand augmented in stages 10% at a time from 30% to 50%, accelerated carbonation depth of concrete was increased as W/C ratio. 3) As the carbonation concrete used sea sand, compressive strength between 8 weeks and accelerated carbonation depth of 1 weeks, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks was inversion proportion.

Shocks are thought to be important in the dynamics and heating of the solar chromosphere. The observational determination of shock parameters, however, has been hardly done because of the difficulty of observation at a high spatial, temporal and spectral resolution, and the lack of an effective method of inferring physical parameters from spectral data. Our inversion of the spectral data of the $H{\alpha}$ and Ca II 854.2 nm lines simultaneously taken from an intranetwork area, produced temporal profiles of temperature as well as line-of-sight velocities, from which we infer that three-minute chromospheric oscillations prevailing in the upper chromosphere are in fact trains of strong shocks with a strength of about two and a propagation speed of 20 km s-1 that carry a mechanical energy flux of 500 W m-2 upward. Our result supports the notion that shocks dominate the heating of the upper chromosphere, and probably the corona as well, at least in intranetwork regions of the quiet sun.
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) flat sheet hydrophobic membranes were prepared using 16 wt% PVDF in Dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) by phase inversion technique for desalination application using Membrane Distillation (MD). In this work, the effect of coagulation mediums such as ethanol and water as well their synergistic behavior on the fabricated PVDF membrane morphology was studied using SEM. Moreover, other characteristics required for the membrane distillation applications namely porosity, hydrophobicity and tensile strength were measured using the gravimetric method, sessile drop method and universal testing machine respectively. It was observed that the membrane morphology paradigm shifted from the finger-like structure to the sponge-like structure on increasing the ethanol concentration in coagulant. The porosity of the fabricated membrane was under the required MD range and found to be 57.3% at 16 weight % of PVDF in DMAc solvent under a pure ethanol coagulant bath. Moreover, the top surface contact angle ranges from 85° to 115° on increasing the bath concentration from CBC 0 to CBC 100 at 16 weight % of PVDF in DMAc solvent.
