In this paper, we deal with the teaching of the approaching to algebra based on patterns. The change of algebra curriculum has been undergoing in many countries including USA, England, Australia. The traditional algebra curriculum starts with letters(variables), algebraic expressions, and equations. But these formal approaching method has many difficulties in teaching school algebra. Therefore the new algebra curriculum has to be needed, and the approaching to algebra based on patterns has been focused. In this paper, we compare this new approaching to algebra based on patterns to the traditional algebra curriculum. Next we consider the NCTM algebra curriculums based on Standards (1989) and Standards 2000(2000), Britannica textbook series(1998) based on RME. Also we investigate our pattern approaching in our curriculum and discuss some problems from the perspective of the approaching to algebra based on patterns.

This paper is a survey on the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of the Jensen functional equation in $C^*$-algebras. The concept of Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability originated from the Th.M. Rassias' stability theorem that appeared in his paper: On the stability of the linear mapping in Banach spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 72 (1978), 297-300. Its content is divided into the following sections: 1. Introduction and preliminaries. 2. Approximate isomorphisms in $C^*$-algebras. 3. Approximate isomorphisms in Lie $C^*$-algebras. 4. Approximate isomorphisms in $JC^*$-algebras. 5. Stability of derivations on a $C^*$-algebra. 6. Stability of derivations on a Lie $C^*$-algebra. 7. Stability of derivations on a $JC^*$-algebra.

2007년 개정교육과정은 대수의 도입 시기를 초등으로 앞당기고 있다. 최근의 연구결과들로부터 볼 때 초등수학 수준에서 대수를 도입할 때 패턴의 일반화를 이용하는 것은 타당한 과정으로 판단된다. 초등학교 6학년 학생들이 패턴의 일반화과정 학습에서 대수를 도입하는 것이 가능한지 그리고 어떤 효과가 있는지, 초등학교 6학년 학생들의 패턴의 일반화 과정은 어떠한지에 대한 연구가 보완되어야 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 초등학교 5학년들에게 패턴을 일반화하여 대수를 도입하고 지도하고 그 과정에서 나타나는 일반화 과정의 특징과 학생들이 겪는 어려움을 분석하였다. 이를 통하여 패턴의 일반화를 지도하거나 패턴에 기초한 대수 교육과정을 개발할 때 시사점을 얻고 교수학습 자료 개발에 대한 정보를 제공하고자 한다.

The paper aims to analyse the development of algebra and calculus during the Scientific Revolution. It will argue that the introduction of algebra into the learning world was never smooth but invited struggle with traditional geometry, which is well illustrated in the development of calculus in the 17th century. The paper will also demonstrate that the invention and the acceptance of calculus had been influenced by the need of solving practical problems (e. g., motion) during the century.

After the introduction of fuzzy sets by Zadeh, there have been a number of generalizations of this fundamental concept. The notion of intuitionistic fuzzy sets introduced by Aranassov is one among them. In this paper, we apply the concept of an intuitionistic fuzzy set to commutative ideals in BCK-algebras. The notion of an intuitionistic fuzzy commutative ideal of a BCK-algebra is introduced, and some related properties are investigated. Characterizations of an intuitionistic fuzzy commutative ideal are given. Conditions for an intuitionistic fuzzy ideal to be an intuitionistic fuzzy commutative ideal are given. Using a collection of commutative ideals, intuitionistic fuzzy commutative ideals are established.

After the introduction of fuzzy sets by Zadeh [8], there have been a number of generalizations of fundamental concept. The notion of intuitionistic fuzzy sets introduced by Atanassov is one among them. An intuitionistic fuzzy set is also called a bifuzzy set according to [5]. In this paper, we apply the concept of a bifuzzy set to (implicative) ideals in pseudo MV-algebras. The notion of a bifuzzy (implicative) ideal of a pseudo MV-algebra is introduced, and some related properties are investigated. Conditions for a bifuzzy set to be a bifuzzy ideal are given, and characterizations of a bifuzzy (implicative) ideal are provided. Using a family of ideals, bifuzzy ideals are established.

In this paper we provide a brief introduction to the continuity of approximate point spectrum on the algebra B(X), using basic properties of Fredholm operators and the SVEP condition. Also, we give an example showing that in general it not holds that if the spectrum is continuous an operator T, then for each ${\lambda}{\in}{\sigma}_{s-F}(T){\setminus}\overline{{\rho}^{\pm}_{s-F}(T)}$ and ${\in}$ > 0, the ball $B({\lambda},{\in})$ contains a component of ${\sigma}_{s-F}(T)$, contrary to what has been announced in [J. B. Conway and B. B. Morrel, Operators that are points of spectral continuity II, Integral Equations Operator Theory 4 (1981), 459-503] page 462.

초등수학에서 조작교구를 활용한 수업은 오늘날 수학교육에서 강조하고 있는 활동과 조작, 구성에 부합하는 다양한 요소를 포함한다. 초등수학에서 조작교구의 활용이 강조되는 이유는, 굳이 Piaget의 발달단계이론을 인용하여 초등학생들이 구체적 조작기에 놓여 있다는 사실을 들지 않더라도 초등학생들을 대상으로 한 수학 수업의 핵심이 구체와 추상 사이의 연결고리를 형성하는데 있으며, 그 대표적인 수업 방안이 조작교구를 활용한 수업에 있기 때문이다. 본 연구는 선행연구를 통해 검토된 조작교구에 대한 논의에서부터 시작하여 이로부터 조작교구에 대한 연구의 필요성을 이끌어내고, 특히 초등학교 수학수업에 활용 가능한 다양한 조작교구를 제안하기 위해 호주에서 개발되어 적용 중인 'Maths With Attitude' 교구(3-4학년, 대수와 패턴 영역) 프로그램을 분석한다. 또한 이러한 조작교구의 분석과 함께 이들 가운데 우리나라 초등수학수업에서 활용할 수 있는 조작교구와 내용들을 선별하여, 초등학교 3학년과 5학년 수학수업에 실제로 적용해봄으로써 'Maths With Attitude' 교구 프로그램의 다양한 활용 가치를 탐색하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다.

고대 그리스 시대 작도는 현 교육에서의 작도 이상의 의미를 지닌 것이었다. 본 연구는 이러한 사실에 입각하여 현 교과서의 작도 의미를 살펴보고, 이와 대비되는 에서의 작도 의미를 추출해 보았다. 더불어 에서의 작도 의미를 현 교육에 반영하였을 때 나타나는 이점을 숙고해 보고, 그 이점을 활용하는 방안을 제안하였다. 그 결과 현 교과서의 작도는 삼각형의 합동 조건 도입과 이해를 위한 수단임을 확인할 수 있었다. 반면, 에서 작도는 4가지 의미를 지니고 있었다. 공준으로 타당성을 확보한 추상적 활동, 도형의 존재성 입증 및 논증에서 보조선 도입의 타당성 확보 수단, 보조선 도입 이외의 논증 개입 자제, 수와 대수를 다루는 수단이 곧 작도였다. 이로부터 논증에 보조선 도입의 타당성 확보 수단으로서의 작도 활용의 이점을 논의하였다. 아울러 Euclid 도구로 작도 불가능한 보조선에 대하여 가상적 도구의 개입에 의한 작도 관점을 제시하였다.
