An office is understood as a system consisted of three subsystem : office work, technology and organization. In the age of information, an office is a complicated device in an organization to create, process, modify and deliver various information for organizational goals. The purpose of this study is to provide design guidelines on office workstations based on the analysis of employees' preference and work-style responding to current changes of an organization and work process. Through a literature survey, the study briefly reviewed characteristics of interior design to find changing factors and directions of office interior. Work characteristics in an office are analyzed based on information, activity and communication characteristics while office environment is analyzed based on physical and technological factors. Finally, questionnaire items are derived from a critical comparison between work characteristics and workstation organization(furniture etc) factor. workplace strategies by preference are suggested to increase office productivity, employee satisfaction and to reduce space costs.

In modern society, sense of crisis from environmental destruction caused by rapid industrial development, economic growth and improvement of educational level and medicine made environmental preservation and comfortable residential environment a necessary and sufficient condition. Since government conducted 'green building rating system' from 2002, application of pro-environmental elements has been extended. But the concept of substantial pro-environmental housing remains the stage of complex planning yet and application of system to interior space which has the most direct influence on actual dwellers is very poor.

The objectives of this study is to create an environment which students could apply effectively through focused on the innovative methods of education and CAD course contents. The facts which were able to figure out from this study were as follows ; 1. After the analysis of the CAD course contents of the american universities, their common contents were in order of introduce to Computer Aided Drafting and design with Auto CAD/ provide fundamental knowledge of the application for use in design/ examine and how this effects 2 D image and model creation/ CAD as a design tool . Over all trend of CAD course contents of interior design program in american university is moving toward utilizing CAD as a design tool. 2. On the other hand, common contents of our local universities were simply introducing CAD. It means that our course contents are more methodological and theoreatical . And american university's program is focused on problem solving solution as a design tool.

Apartments, which are typical residential spaces, are reconstructed or remodeled according to aging. However, reconstruction or remodeling of apartment complexes or an individual building requires following relevant laws and policies and requires a lot of time. Therefore, there are cases where apartment residents choose remodeling that improves the living environment by renovating only the interior of their household. In order to improve the interior space of an apartment, various materials such as windows, toilets, walls, and floors are replaced, and lots of matters must be considered in this process. Several problems arise in the process of selecting a remodeling company and carrying out construction, and the problem must be resolved through owner's decision-making. This study analyzes the problems through the case of apartment interior remodeling and suggests ways to improve them.

A public library is changing into a place where people can freely acquire and make use of information in digital environment with the basic ideology of publicity. In spite of such changes, multimedia center is still biased with the function of computer room to use PC and is not used actively by many users. This study can be summarized and concluded as follows and spatial characteristics of digital data room of public library can make use of space planning elements by aspects as an analysis tool. First, designed characteristics focusing too much on the possession of seats for reading digital data. Therefore, spatial planning for users to choose necessary facilities according to the data they wish to read and type of users is needed. Second, interior tone of multimedia center is applied with identical color for all floors, walls, and ceilings, to create sense of unification. However, due to the arrangement of similar colors, while using identical brightness and chroma, some users felt difficult to realize shape or depth in space. It is more appropriate to apply distinctive color plan according to the characteristic of the data or space region, in order to create pleasant digital environment for visually weaker people or elderly. Third, psychological or technical factors of multimedia center is not sufficiently applied in space planning elements for users. In order for various digital service of public library to be technically implemented, it is necessary to organize open space by expanding the size of multimedia center to utilize high-tech facilities.

This study was conducted to collect basic data about the effects of ventilation types on the interior environment of the enclosed farrowing-nursery pig house in Anseong, Icheon and Jeungpyong. Surveyed ventilation types in the enclosed farrowing-nursery pig house are classified in to 4 types. In V1 type, air enters through a planar slot inlet placed on the juncture of the entering wall and exit through the chimney fan outlet; in V2 type, air enters through a perforated ceiling inlet and exits chimney fan outlet(V2); in V3 type, air enters through a circular duct inlet and exit chimney fan outlet(V3); in V4 type, enters through a circular duct inlet and exits side wall exhaust fan outlet(V4). Temperature, relative humidity, air velocity and ammonia concentration($NH_3$) were measured in the interior of swine building in the summer. Interior temperature was not remarkably different in all ventilation types in this study. However, temperature of the V4 was somewhat lower than that of the other types. Air velocity of the V4 was higher and $NH_3$ concentration of the V4 was lower than those of other ventilation types. It is suggested that the V4 ventilation type be applicable in the enclosed farrowing-nursery pig house in Korea.

This study confirm the value and the importance of the human sensibility study to add up the new meaning, and to suggest a new value of Korean sensibility study through the understanding of current statusand trend of the sensibility study in the space. The method of the study was to collect date related to the sensibility study and to analyze it focusing on its details. The date was collected from researches published on the website since the establishment of Korean Institute of Interior Design and Architectural Institute of Korea and selected at the keyword search comer. The data was extracted under keywords of research object, research purpose, research method, and analysis method. And then it was quantified with HAYASH lll program and used for analyses according to its pattern and feature. The study shows that nowadays categories representing the current status and trend of the sensibility studies in space consist of the environment, the human, and the space. The contemporary study for sensibility puts the importance on a object and a subject of the study like the environment harmonized with human and space, the humans the subject that essentially uses the spate, and the space for the architecture and the interior that puts human in. Accordingly, the study for human sensibility should develop into the study for the design focused on the intangible relationship such as 'information', 'elements for space design', 'sensibility' beyond the existing tangible categories of environment, human, and space. In addition, in the method ways of study and analysis, those studies for the sensible relationship are required to develop into new types of study applying research methods of various studies beyond the traditional border between human studies, social science, and natural science.

The purpose of this study was to find out the interior environment, teaching equipments and tools, practical usages and related problems of the Home Economics practice room as a special room of Home Economics in middle school. The data were collected with questionnaire through a mail from 150 teachers charged in the Technology $\cdot$ Home Economics of the middle schools in the Gyeonggi Province and Incheon Metropolitan City. There were Home Economics practice rooms in the most of the middle schools. The room was used for the Home Economics class as well as for many other activities. which sometimes disturbed the class in the room. The frequency of the usage of the room was relatively low and limited mostly to the cooking class and somewhat sewing class because of the lack of environmental equipment and facilities such as heating, cooling. ventilating systems and furnishings such as table. chair as well as teaching materials. etc. Teachers wanted to use the room for all units of the Home Economics class applied to various teaching methods in the room. The improvement of the interior environments and teaching materials could facilitate the variety of the class in the Home Economic practice room.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the objective preference and satisfaction for the current basic educational environment as well as to suggest the solution by reducing the distance between color theory and the actual situation. The data collected in this study are 195 nursery school teachers and parents from six nursery school with similar color environment. Semantic differential developed by Osgood(1957) as analytic method is applied to analyze the psychological meaning for the color preference among them. The results of this study are as follows; First the nursery school teachers and parents are satisfied with the light tone color palette. Second the nursery school teachers and parents agree with consistent response for the middle tone color palette. Finally the nursery school teachers and parents show different inconsistent response for the vivid strong color palette.

The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between housing environment and elementary school children's personality. The samples of this research are 459 children from elementary schools in their fourth or higher year grades. The results were analyzed using frequency, percentage, and t-test, F-test and multi regression. The findings indicated that housing type does not have effect on environmental characteristics of children's room, while housing ownership type, housing size and children's room size have significant effects on them. Housing size and children's room size have significant effects on children's satisfaction. The larger children room provides higher satisfaction with children room environment. The finding showed that environmental characteristics of children's room have relationship with children's personality. The order of environmental characteristics of children's room has the highest relationship with children's personality.
