The objective of this study was to examine antique furniture in the cultural tradition. Through a survey of use and interest in antique furniture for modern living. the methodology included a review of literature in order to determine characteristics of wood furnitures of the Yi-dynasty. A survey of use and interest in antique furniture for modern living was also conducted. The study of interest in antique furniture was limited to five factors of sociopsychological variables : traditional, aesthetic , status symbolic ,economic, and fashionable. Questionnaires were given to the randomly selected men and women in Seoul. Data from 289 respondents were analyzed by $X^{2}$, analysis of variances and correlation. The results were 1) Wood furniture of the Yi-dynasty continued to be of practical usefulness, Antique furniture, therefore, had multiful functional , practical , and aesthetic usefulness in modern living. 2) Interest in antique furniture today was not related to possession or nonpossession, age, and occupation but was related to educational level and socioeconomic status. Suggestions for further research include the study of the organized history of Korean furniture in form, color, materials , and texture. And also included the use additional factors in further research on the study of interest in antique furniture.
The purpose of this study was to test both psychological and demographic variables and their relationship to the consumers design evaluation with reference to television sets and refrigerators. The survey questionnaire consisted of three distinct areas: 1) demographic information about the subjects, 2) their interest in design and need for design, 3) their evaluation of‘ideal’designs the subjects were 900 adults selected from middle and high economic level in Seoul. The major findings were the‘ideal’design of the subjects was affected by interest in design and the need for design. The need for design was related to either self-esteem or to esteem of others. Interest in design and need for self-esteem were affected by demographic variables but the need for esteem of others was not.
To identify the actual situation of financial information disclosure, a content analysis was performed on pamphlets of a time deposit and a new reserve trust offered by banks and other financial institutes. Although consumers required information on interest rate, tax favor, loan service, protection of brink depositors and bank security to select a financial service account, informations offered on pamphlets are not sufficient. Therefore concrete way of information offer system shoed be developed. In offering interest rate, interest rate after tax deduction or payment at maturity should be also mentioned. Information on tax favor, protection of bank depositors and bank security should be contained in pamphlets as well. Use of easy terms and notes are recommended for developing pamphlets for financial products.
Using the 1987-2008 quarterly aggregated data of the Household Income and Expenditure Survey, this study investigated the factors influencing household saving rate. The independent variables in the AR regression model were the GDP growth rate, shares of the total household expenditure allocated to tax & social insurance, and education, the variables reflecting the conditions of the asset market including interest rate, stock market index, and real estate price index, and the variables representing the social economic conditions including the index of aging and income inequality. Among the independent variables interest rate, stock market index, and income inequality were found to be significantly associated with the household saving rate. These results suggested that the redistribution and financial market policies favorable to savers may be effective for raising the household saving rate.
The purpose of this study was to segment consumers based on sales promotion orientation and examine the differences between the consumer segments on shopping behaviors and promotion usage behaviors. A total of 462 responses collected from a questionnaire survey to subjects aged over 20s were analyzed. Cluster analysis on sales promotion orientation identified four groups including rational group(21%), active group(28%), insensitive group(22.1%), and interest group(28.9%) of sales promotion. ANOVA revealed significant differences among the four groups on shopping behaviors(information seeking, store visit, and clothing purchase) and promotion usage behaviors(the usage level of sales promotion, impulse buying, brand switching, and store switching). The active and interest groups were more actively seeking information than the other two groups were. The active group was most affected by sales promotion showing the highest impulse buying and brand and store switching behaviors, and the interest group was most active on store visit and clothing purchase. The insensitive group was the least engaged in all the behaviors.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate appropriateness of clothing & textiles as educational contents in practical arts or technology home economics in the 7th curriculum. The factors of appropriateness were the amounts of learning, the degrees of understanding, interest and requirement on the educational content recognized by elementary, middle and high school students. The data collected from evaluation sheets were analyzed by frequency analysis, t-test, crossing analysis using SPSSWIN 12.0 program. Results were as follows; First. more than 50% of elementary, middle and high school students were recognized the amounts of tearing of clothing & textiles proper. But boy students of middle school recognized 'making clothes' in practice course too heavy. Second. It were from easy to difficult that the degrees of understanding on the educational contents of clothing & textiles recognized by elementary school students. Elementary school students understood both 'making cushion' and 'sewing machine theory and practice' difficult. Middle school students understood 'basic sewing for repairing clothes' and 'making clothes' difficult whereas high school students thought 'making pillow' and 'making bag' difficult. All students understood practice courses hard. Third, the degrees of interest showed from 'interest' level to 'not interest' level in case of elementary school students whereas 'interest' level in middle school students and 'common' in high school students. Fourth, the requirements of elementary, middle and high school students were in 'necessary' level to 'common' level. Editional contents such as 'learning sewing machine', 'making cushions'. 'making clothes', and 'making pillow-cover and bag' were low in the degrees of requirement. The correlationship between the amount of learning and the each level of understand, interest and requirement of students was indirect. On the other hand, Among the level of understand, interest and requirement were direct in case of high school students.

The purpose of this study is to compare of learning effects between the inquiry training model and traditional lecture method in the unit of food and nutrition of home economics in the middle school and propose a teaching-learning method of home economics in the middle school.For this study I sampled one hundred students both male and female who were in the first grade students of middle school in Ansan city.The students were divided into two groups each of which was composed of one male class and one female class. One was called the inquiry training model group, which was taught by the inquiry training model, the other the traditional lecture method group, which was taught by traditional lecture method .They learned about food and nutrition unit during the same time. To evaluate the effectiveness of learning, learning achievement degree, instruction interest degree, and the powers of exploration process, a creativity lest by using a Questionnaire was gIven.The resuits of this study are as follows: 1. In the traditional lecture method group between the inquiry training model one, the difference of learning achievement degree was not significant. The score of learning achieve ment degree in the inquiry training group, the female class got higher scores than .the maleone, but the difference was not significant. 2. In the test of instruction interest degree, the traditional lecture method group got higher scores than the inquiry training model one. (p<.001.). In the inquiry training group the male class got higher scores than the f ema Ie one. (p < .001 ) 3. In the test of powers of exploration process, the traditional lecture method group got higher scores than the inquiry training model one.( p< .00 1). In the inquiry training group, the male class got higher scores than the female one, but the difference was not significant. 4. In the test of creativity, the traditional lecture method group got higher scores than the inquiry training one. (p < .00 1). In the inquiry training group, the female class got higher scores than the male one, but the difference was not significant Therefore, the inquiry training model is the more effective instruction model for both male and female students, rather than the traditional lecture method for instruction interest de¬gree, powers of exploration process, creativity and extends instruction interest degree for the male studentsale students.

This study aims at seeking the effective career guidance and operational plan. We collected data from questionaries to 305 students of vocational school, and 135 students on vocational course for the recognition of and request for vocational home economics curriculum. Collected data were analysed by frequency, percentage, and X(sup)2, and SPSS/PC(sup)+ program are used for the statistical analysis. 1. The main considerations of students in their decision of course were the accessibility of getting a job, or a higher education aptitude, interest, and so on. They made their own decision in choosing their course, relatively were satisfied with their choices. As for the course after graduation they hoped to come by a job related to their major in order to have3 an opportunity for further education, and teachers stood up for the large extent to which their students are satisfied with vocational training by answering that there would be higher possibility of using their major. 2 The results of the investigation into the desirable home economics vocational training in future showed that students of vocational schools desired for the scientific teaching and learning method. Students on vocational curse requested that the educational system should be supported. And new curricula were those for gerontology. interior design, and cookery and bakery.

The aim of this study is to research and analyse how junior-high students, both male and female in Inchon area, are recognizing the contents of the curriculum in the subject of home economics and how effectively they are learning and applying it in their actual life. 772 students, both male and female, who started to learn the subject of home economics from the 7th grade as compulsory are the respondents, and the survey is done by using questionnaire. The result shows that after taking the course of home economics, both male and female students have got more positive view on the necessity of learning the subject. But still, on the whole, female students are more intersted and more active than males the subject in learning. As for food and nutrition part, large percentage of the respondents, both male and female, answer that it is very helpful. They tend to be on more balanced diet and when they purchase food or when they eat at restaurant they refer what they learn about nutrition at school more often than not. A number of the students are re-practicing cooking at home after they learn it at school. Also the fact in the survey shows that more and more mothers are getting active in asking their children to re-practice cooking. One of the difficulties for male students to take the course is stereo-typed thinking on the separate role of man and woman in the family. But many of them started cooking some food, even though it is very simple, and the survey shows that their interest in nutrition and health increased after they were initiated into this course.

The purpose of this study was to explore ways to help improve adolescents' happiness by exploring the influences of emphatic ability and family strengths on happiness. This subjects were 514 middle school students living in Gwangju. Data were collected from self-report questionnaires and analyzed with SPSS 22.0 program. The major findings were as follows; First, the adolescents' emphatic ability('viewpoint', 'identity', 'emphatic interest'), family strengths('family respect and affection', 'role sharing and problem solving', 'communication and bonds', 'financial stability') and happiness scores were higher than the median(3.00). Emphatic ability('viewpoint', 'identity', 'emphatic interest', 'personal suffering') and family strengths('communication and bonds') showed significant difference according to gender. Second, the adolescents' happiness was influenced by 'family respect and affection', 'role sharing and problem solving', 'financial stability', 'personal suffering', 'identity', and 'emphatic interest'. Adolescents' happiness was explained about 39% by these variables. In other words, the higher family respect and affection, both higher role sharing and problem solving and higher financial stability, with lower personal suffering and higher identity and higher emphatic interest showed the higher happiness. These findings demonstrate the emphatic ability and family strengths in adolescents influence on the level of happiness. As such, in order to improve the happiness of adolescents, it is necessary to energize those programs focus on the forming healthy family relationships and to design finance assistance programs that could attempt to minimise financial gap. Additionally, it is necessary to develop programs aimed to enhance emphatic ability and continue such programs in homes as well as at schools. Finally, it is necessary to implement curriculum that may improve family strengths and emphatic ability, which have influenced on the happiness in adolescents. Since the subject "Technology & Home Economics" helps to enhance family strengths, emphatic ability and eventually amplifies the happiness, it is necessary to expand and reinforce it as well as to make it a mandatory subject.
