  • In this study, we explore social awareness, interest, and acceptance of generative AI, including chatGPT, which has revolutionized web search, 30 years after web search was released. For this purpose, we performed a machine learning-based topic modeling analysis based on Korean news big data collected from November 30, 2022, when chatGPT was released, to August 31, 2023. As a result of our research, we have identified seven topics related to chatGPT and generative AI; (1)growth of the high-performance hardware market, (2)service contents using generative AI, (3)technology development competition, (4)human resource development, (5)instructions for use, (6)revitalizing the domestic ecosystem, (7)expectations and concerns. We also explored monthly frequency changes in topics to explore social interest related to chatGPT and Generative AI. Based on our exploration results, we discussed the high social interest and issues regarding generative AI. We expect that the results of this study can be used as a precursor to research that analyzes and predicts the diffusion of innovation in generative AI.

  • Curriculum content interest has been studied in terms of teachers rather than students in ways that help revise curriculum and develop textbooks. In this study, 227 first-year high school students were interested in what they learned in middle school and what they learned in high school, focusing on meaningful assumptions and contents for middle school and high school students. We analyze this difference in interest by gender and achievement level. According to the research results, first-year high school students, who are in the middle and high school transition period, have relatively high interest in themselves, such as youth development, compared to family needs or interest in family life. There were no gender differences, but there were differences in content interest depending on the level of achievement. This means that the content interest should be interpreted by considering various variables such as the development of learners, the situation of learners in the school-level transition period, and the entrance examination of universities. The results of this study will provide implications for future curriculum revisions, textbook development, and curriculum considerations, and will need to be carefully analyzed and utilized based on a learner-centered perspective.

This study discusses the relationship of youth-pursuing, media appearance information interest, and media contact responses focused middle-aged women. Data were collected from 245 females aged 40-65 in Seoul, Daejeon and Chungbuk area residents. The SPSS WIN 21.0 program analyzed the data by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and regression analysis. Youth-pursuing derived social, psychological, and outward factors. Only an outward factor of these three dimensions influenced a significant media appearance information interest, and media contact response. The regression analysis results for chronological age and cognitive age, cognitive age influenced all variables significantly (three factors of youth-pursuing, media appearance information interest, and media contact response). But chronological age influenced significantly only the media appearance information interest. This study verified the relationship of youth-pursuing and media variables (media appearance information interest and media contact response).

  • This study was conducted using a self boarding questionnaire survey to investigate body image perception, dietary habits and nutrient intakes according to interest level in health of female university students in Masan area (n=302). The subjects were divided into 2 groups according to interest level in health ('High' group, n=101, 'Low' group, n=201). Body image according to BMI was significantly different regardless of interest level in health (p<0.001). The answer percentage indicated that the purpose of weight control is health, regular use of the scale, and regular exercise were significantly higher in the high group (p<0.05). Nutrient knowledge score (p<0.01) and food frequency score (p<0.001) were significantly higher in the high group (p<0.01). There were no significant differences in nutrient intake, but intake, NAR and INQ of vitamin C were significantly higher in the high group (p<0.001). Nutrition knowledge score (p<0.01), food intake frequency score (p<0.01), and INQ and NAR of vitamin C (p<0.01) were positively correlated with the interest level in health. These results will be useful as a basis for the development of effective nutrition education programs in order to increase interest level in health and apply well in real life what have learned through the correct nutrition knowledge.

This study explores the effect of textbooks based on a gamification motivation strategy on learner interest. For this purpose, this study analyzes whether the systematic application of the gamification motivation strategy to elementary studies textbooks, which will be authorized from 2022, can develop this textbook into a "learner-centered curriculum book that induces interest." More specifically, this study applied Kumsung Publishing's experimental social studies textbooks in class and conducted a questionnaire among 121 third graders to verify the effectiveness of the textbooks. The results show that studies textbooks based on a gamification motivation strategy greatly influence increased learner interest in the classroom. The textbooks also represent a positive influence in learner understanding, interest, and curiosity regarding the class content and assistance. Demonstrating that gamification motivation strategy is worthwhile to actively apply in future textbook development for the enhancement of learners' interests, this study is significant in that it has presented a meaningful textbook development model.

  • This reach is to comprehend the trend of father-related studies in Korea. The result of analyzing 161 father related thesis published from first issue until 2015.12 issue on 9 journals came out as below. First, father-thesis have increased. But the proportion of it remains for only 1~2% out of total 9 academic journals. Also the increased amount is very small considering the increasing rate of mother-thesis. In other words, the increased number of father-thesis is due to increased number of total amount of academic journals, which cannot be interpreted as the academic interest about fathering has grown. Second, almost of father-thesis were the empirical research and quantitative approach took the most part. Also father-thesis focus on 'what father's role is' and 'how much he does it'. Due to generalization of double-income family and an increase of interest about fathering, operational definition and a measurement issue is growing. Third, the topic of research which handles influence of father to child ranges from social relationship to social and emotional development. Also an interest of awarness development is growing. Meanwhile, research of father's influence to child development depends on cross-sectional data. Only few used vertical material.

  • As a result of the globalization of diseases and the delivery of health care, physicians today are required to understand global health (GH) including the global burden of disease, health inequities, and effective medical aid. Interest in GH among medical students has also increased significantly. To meet these needs and to reflect an increasing focus on social accountability in medical education, global health education (GHE) programs have already been well-established, particularly in North America. Korea's official developmental aid (ODA) volume almost tripled from 2006 to 2011. Korea has committed to double its ODA/gross national income ratio over the next three years. With these increases, interest in GH among medical students has significantly increased. Despite significant interest among medical students, GHE programs have not been properly established in Korea. To develop GHE programs in Korea, proposed GHE curriculum frameworks were reviewed and core values, guiding principles, and GH competencies were identified in the context of the current literature. To identify key themes essential to the development of GHE programs in Korea, the curriculum frameworks should be focused on a global context and should be taught from the perspective of the social, political, and economic causes of ill health.
