  • This paper aims at developing remote contro system to control and monitor distributed various devices through internet or information communication network. SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and rectifier operated in a row are adopted for network management protocol and applied device, respectively. For controlling and monitoring distributed devices in real-time java-environment software is constructed. Also general-use interface controller between network device and applied device is proposed. Finally, seria communication such as RS-232 and RS-485 is used between controller and applied device.

A Natural Language Query Framework for the Semantic Web

  • This study proposes a Natural Language Query Framework (NLQF) for the semantic web. It supports an intelligent inference at a semantic level. Most of previous researches focused on the knowledge representation on the semantic web. However, to revitalize the intelligent e-business on the semantic web, there is a need for semantic level inference to the web information. To satisfy the need, we will review the knowledge/resource representation on the semantic web such as RDF, Ontology and Conceptual Graph (CG), and then discuss about the natural language (NL) inference. The result of this research could support a natural interface for the semantic web. Furthermore, we expect that the NLQF can be used in the semantic web-based business communications.

  • This paper aims at developing remote control system to control and monitor distributed various devices through internet or information communication network. SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) are adopted for network management protocol and applied device, respectively. For controlling and monitoring distributed devices in real-time, Java-environment software is constructed. Also, general-use interface controller between network device and applied device is proposed. Finally, serial communication such as RS-232 and RS-485 is used between controller and applied device.

  • The computer manipulation by means of natural language prcessing will be not only helpful to use the computer with more simple and more comfortable but also flexiable to communicate between human and computers.In this paper the natural language interfaces will be applied to an intelligent geography tutoring systems(IGTS),and we will inspect the something to consider in the case of its implementation.Each module of IGTS is connected to the interface module and correspondence with each other for the sake of natural conversation between system and learner.

  • Braincomputer interface (BCI) technology is making advances in the field of humancomputer interaction (HCI). To improve the BCI technology, we study the changes in the electroencephalogram (EEG) signals for six levels of grip strength: 10%, 20%, 40%, 50%, 70%, and 80% of the maximum voluntary contraction (MVC). The measured EEG data are categorized into three classes: Weak, Medium, and Strong. Features are then extracted using power spectrum analysis and multiclass-common spatial pattern (multiclass-CSP). Feature datasets are classified using a support vector machine (SVM). The accuracy rate is higher for the Strong class than the other classes.

  • 본 논문에서는 Error Back Propagation 학습을 이용해 한글 문자를 On-Line 인식하는 시스템을 제안한다. Pointing device의 궤적을 추적해 입력 패턴의 특징(feature)을 추출해 신경 회로망 입력으로 준다. 이때 사용하는 특징은 기본 획 (stroke)의 종류 및 획간의 상대적 위치 관계이다. 학습과정에서는 자소의 정의를 읽어 초성, 중성, 종성에 대해 각 획수마다 정의된 신경회로망의 weight를 조정한다. 인식 과정에서는 초성, 중성, 종성의 순으로 에러가 최소인 획수의 신경회로망 출력을 택하여 2 바이트 조합형 코드로 완성한다. 이로써 Intelligent Man-Machine Interface 시스템중 위치 및 크기에 무관한 전필 입력 시스템을 구현한다.

  • In this paper, we investigate the issues for the design and implementation of tele-operation system based on the haptic interface. Here, the 3-DOF haptic device and the x-y-z stage are employed as master controller and slave system respectively. In this master-slave system, the force feedback algorithm, the modeling of virtual environments and the control method of x-y-z stage are proposed. In this paper, inernet network is used for data communication between master and slave. We construct virtual environment of the real convex surface from the force-feedback in controlling the X-Y-Z stage and getting the force applied by the 3-DOF haptic device.

  • This paper introduces our three approaches to reduce the burden of human interactive EC operators: (1) improvement of the interface of presenting individuals, (2)improvement of the interface of inputting fitness values, and (3) fast EC convergence. We propose methods to display individuals in order of predicted fitness values by neural networks or Euclidean distance measure for (1), to input quantized fitness values for (2), and to make a new elite by approximating the EC search space with a quadratic function for (3). They are evaluated through simulations and subjective testes, and their effects have shown.

  • The interface between host processor and the ShortStack Micro Server may be a Serial Communication Interface(SCI). The LonWorks control module with a high performance is developed, which is composed of the 8 bit PIC Microprocessor for host processor and the smart neuron chip for the ShoretStack Micro Server. This intelligent control board is verified as proceeding the various function tests from experimental system with an boost pump and inverter driving systems. It is also confirmed that the developed control module provides stably 0-10VDC linear signal to the input signal of inverter driving system for varying the induction motor speed. Thus, the experimental results show that the fabricating intelligent board carried out very well the various functions in the wide operating ranges of boost pump system. This developed control module expect to apply to industrial fields to require the comparatively exact control and monitoring such as multi-motor driving system with inverter, variable air volume system and the boost pump water supply systems.

  • Modem Industrial control systems tend to adopt a variety of intelligent wireless device controllers to interface front-end computers with active components of the industrial device. Some of the intelligent control systems come equipped with a wireless SMS(Simple Message Service) interface giving an opportunity to use fault alarm Interlock system. Immediately send warning or alert messages to Mobile devices or remote users. Real time monitoring the SMS systems by Mobile devices. Control systems remotely by mobile devices in emergency situation. In order to provide against system fault, SMS Mobile System will enable system administrator to promptly access, monitor and control the system whenever users want and wherever users are, by utilizing wireless Internet and mobile devices. This paper presents the Mobile SMS system for PAL Control System.
