  • The observation error of satellite radiation data that assimilated into the Korean Integrated Model (KIM) was diagnosed by applying the Hollingsworth and Lönnberg and Desrozier techniques commonly used. The magnitude and correlation of the observation error, and the degree of contribution for the satellite radiance data were calculated. The observation errors of the similar device, such as Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) and Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit-A shows different characteristics. The model resolution accounts for only 1% of the observation error, and seasonal variation is not significant factor, either. The observation error used in the KIM is amplified by 3-8 times compared to the diagnosed value or standard deviation of first-guess departures. The new inflation value was calculated based on the correlation between channels and the ratio of background error and observation error. As a result of performing the model sensitivity evaluation by applying the newly inflated observation error of ATMS, the error of temperature and water vapor analysis field were decreased. And temperature and water vapor forecast field have been significantly improved, so the accuracy of precipitation prediction has also been increased by 1.7% on average in Asia especially.

  • The need to support the ICT-using teaching and learning at elementary and secondary schools has led to various digital content service systems. The systems are designed to target the teachers and the students as the major users. The problems involved in them is that they do not provide such services as the integrated search and the systematic use of interface in terms of actual users' use of teaching and learning digital content. It's because they have been created at demands at each time. In an attempt to solve this problem, this study set out to suggest the integrated meta-data items of a teaching and learning digital content, which reflects the Dublin Core Education, the international meta-data standard. It also aimed to design an entity-relationship model to realize the digital content. The results of the integrated meta-data and the entity-relationship model will be utilized as a basic research to help the users to search for various teaching and learning digital contents on an integrated basis and to realize a consistent user interface. Furthermore, they are expected to contribute to the development a service system the teachers and the students can make better use of.

  • Initial prevention activities and rapid propagation conditions is the most important to prevent diffusion of water pollution. If water pollutants flow into streams river or main stresm located in environmental conservation area or water intake facilities, we must predict immediately arrival time and the diffusion concentration to the proactive. National Institute of Environmental Research developed water pollution incident response prediction system linking dam and movable weir. the system is mathematical model which is updated daily. Therefore it can quickly predict the arrival time and the diffusion concentration when there are accident of oil spills and hazardous chemicals. Also we equipped with mathematical model and toxicity model of EFDC(Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code) to calculate the arrival time and the diffusion concentration. However these systems offer the services of an offline manner than real-time control services. we have ensured the reliability of data collection and have developed a real-time water quality measurement data transmission device by using the data linkage utilizing a mode bus communication and a commercial SCADA system, in particular, we implemented to be able to do real-time water quality prediction through information infrastructure of the water quality integrated management business created by utilizing the construction of the real-time prediction system that utilizes the data collected, the Open map, the visual representation using charts API and development of integrated management system development based on web maps.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to apply artificial intelligence technology efficiently to integrated security control technology. In other words, by applying machine learning learning to artificial intelligence based on big data collected in integrated security control system, cyber attacks are detected and appropriately responded. As technology develops, many large capacity Is limited to analyzing individual logs. The analysis method should also be applied to the integrated security control more quickly because it needs to correlate the logs of various heterogeneous security devices rather than one log. We have newly proposed an integrated security service model based on artificial intelligence, which analyzes and responds to these behaviors gradually evolves and matures through effective learning methods. We sought a solution to the key problems expected in the proposed model. And we developed a learning method based on normal behavior based learning model to strengthen the response ability against unidentified abnormal behavior threat. In addition, future research directions for security management that can efficiently support analysis and correspondence of security personnel through proposed security service model are suggested.

  • Aircraft noise model such as FAA Integrated Noise Model(INM) has recently been used for forecasting the impact of noise in a residential area near an airport and quantifying the effect of various options for noise mitigation. The noise modeling should be reliable and precise in order to ensure the quality of the results provided. In this study, the validation of the noise levels simulated by the INM against measurement data recorded continuously at multiple monitoring sites was discussed. As a result of validation, the quality of the input data used as a fixed point profiles for the INM was enhanced. The noise contour maps were designed as a way to evaluate the aircraft noise of the vicinity of the airfield. The results of this study indicate that the validation of aircraft noise model by the measurement data would be required for the accurate assessment of the aircraft noise levels.

  • Recently, due to the rapid technological progress, CDMA cellular system is widely used for voice, data and multimedia services. But the analysis for voice-data integrated traffic has not been done satisfactorily. Moreover, there is few research results for voice-data integrated traffic. In this paper, we propose an effective channel allocation algorithm for CDMA cellular system which serves voice-data integrated traffic. As for the proposed channel allocation algorithm, new calls and hand-off calls first attempt to connect micro-cell. We model the channel allocating scheme as a Birth-and-Death process. We reserve a few hand-off dedicated channels and calculate the blocking probability of hand-off calls varying the number of hand-off dedicated channels. Then we decide the number of hand-off dedicated channels satisfying the proper QoS(Quality of Service) and minimum blocking probability.

  • The purpose of this study is to define a method of building an integrated service to provide various science and technology knowledge infrastructures that are helpful in R&D activities, and to show the cases that are adapted the methodologies. Knowledge infrastructures scattered throughout the entire R&D cycle, such as generating/development of ideas, finding the R&D project, performing the project, and spreading results, are segmented in terms of services, functions, information, and data, and links and converges to provide the knowledge infrastructure that desired by users in one place. We define the integrated service classification, integration level model, integrated architecture, and integrated user authentication system in consideration of logical linkage and integration rather than physical integration of individual knowledge infrastructures. Also, we considered the extensibility as the reference model for building of similar integrated service.

  • Surface water-groundwater interaction (SWGI) is an important hydrological process that influences both the quantity and quality of water resources. However, regional scale SWGI model calibration and uncertainty analysis have been a challenge because integrated models inherently carry a vast number of parameters, modeling assumptions, and inputs, potentially leaving little time and budget to explore questions related to model performance and forecasting. In this study, we have proposed the application of iterative ensemble smoother (IES) for uncertainty analysis and calibration of the widely used integrated surface-subsurface model, SWAT-MODFLOW. SWAT-MODFLOW integrates Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) and a three-dimensional finite difference model (MODFLOW). The model was calibrated using a parameter estimation tool (PEST). The major advantage of the employed IES is that the number of model runs required for the calibration of an ensemble is independent of the number of adjustable parameters. The pilot point approach was followed to calibrate the aquifer parameters, namely hydraulic conductivity, specific storage, and specific yield. The parameter estimation process for the SWAT model focused primarily on surface-related parameters. The uncertainties both in the streamflow and groundwater level were assessed. The work presented provides valuable insights for future endeavors in coupled surface-subsurface modeling, data collection, model development, and informed decision-making.
