The design of a 32-bit Microprocessor for a Sequence Control using an Application Specification Integrated Circuit(ASIC) (ICEIC'04)

  • Programmable logic controller (PLC) is widely used in manufacturing system or process control. This paper presents the design of a 32-bit microprocessor for a sequence control using an Application Specification Integrated Circuit (ASIC). The 32-bit microprocessor was designed by a VHDL with top down method; the program memory was separated from the data memory for high speed execution of 274 specified sequence instructions. Therefore it was possible that sequence instructions could be operated at the same time during the instruction fetch cycle. And in order to reduce the instruction decoding time and the interface time of the data memory interface, an instruction code size was implemented by 32-bits. And the real time debugging as single step run, break point run was implemented. Pulse instruction, step controller, master controllers, BIN and BCD type arithmetic instructions, barrel shit instructions were implemented for many used in PLC system. The designed microprocessor was synthesized by the S1L50000 series which contains 70,000 gates with 0.65um technology of SEIKO EPSON. Finally, the benchmark was performed to show that designed 32-bit microprocessor has better performance than Q4A PLC of Mitsubishi Corporation.

웹을 기반으로 하는 수업에서 강의평가를 위한 문항 분석 (Item Analysis for Course Evaluations in Web-based Classes)

  • 인터넷 기술의 급속한 발전으로 교육분야에서도 많은 변화를 가져오고 있고 그 변화 중 하나는 웹을 활용하는 수업들이다. 전통적인 교실 수업과는 달리, 웹을 기반으로 하는 가상대학 등에서는 멀티미디어적인 요소(텍스트, 그래픽, 사운드, 애니메이션, 비디오 등)를 갖춘 웹 문서를 기반으로 하이퍼미디어 기능을 이용하여 학습자가 자유자재로 항해할 수 있는 기능을 제공함으로써 가장 효과적인 수업도구로 점차 인식되어가고 있다. 그러나, 웹이 수업도구로 전이되어 가는 속도에 비해, 이들의 질을 평가할 수 있는 유용한 평가요소들에 대한 원형은 미흡한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 최근 웹을 활용한 수업에 대해 평가할 수 있는 평가 항목을 제시하고 이들을 실제로 한 가상대학에서 이루어지는 강의에 대해 적용시켜 전통수업과 비교하여 항목을 평가한다. 이를 통해 점차 확산되어가고 있는 가상대학의 양질의 강의를 위한 평가의 기초 자료로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • In the manufacturing industry, fostering talented workers has become a core activity as well as an important resource leading to manufacturing enterprises' innovative activities, which has come to the fore as one of the biggest success factors for innovative activities indeed. In other countries, there are many researches actively conducted on talent-fostering programs related to manufacture innovation. In Korea, however, manufacturers or several different education agencies don't actively carry out manufacture innovation instructions and have failed to faster special competent workers since their instructions focus on theories most of the time. Therefore, this study was conducted to understand the present conditions of manufacture-innovative instructions in Korea by classifying them in a method of educational technology and to investigate various teaching methods through oversea cases and cases from non-manufacture fields so that it might make a proposal for a better manufacture-innovative instruction method.

섬유제품의 취급방법과 관련된 레이블에 대한 연구 -소비자 인식 및 세탁 실태를 중심으로- (A Study on Consumer's Perception and Attitude to Care Labels of Textile Products)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate consumer's perception and attitude on care labels using questionnaire. The major results are as follows: 1. Self-evaluation on consciousness and knowledge regarding on labels is higher than actual level. In other words, most consumers answered that they understood the care instructions on labels, but actually few consumers understand the exact meanings. Married women in their thirties to forties who do the laundry themselves, and more educated women showed higher level of consciousness to care labels. However, unmarried or career women are dissatisfied with the method of care instruction on labels. Many consumers take care of textile products without considering the proposed informations on core labels. The reasons are as follows: a. they think there is no problem even if they do not follow the proposed methods b. the method proposed on labels are complicated 4. There were some cases which happened some problems even though consumers followed the instructions on care labels. It may be due to the incorrect information or the omission of some specific instruction on labels. 5. For ideal care of clothing, it is necessary for manufacturers to suggest the realistic and clean instructions on labels and for consumers to trust and follow these instructions.

초등학생의 인지 수준에 따른 과학의 본성에 대한 명시적 교수 효과 분석 (The Effects of Explicit Instruction about Nature of Science by Elementary School Student's Cognitive Level)

  • In this study, we investigated the effects of explicit instruction about nature of science by elementary school students' cognitive level. Participants were six classes, 187 sixth graders at elementary schools in Daegu. Three classes were assigned to control groups and the other classes to treatment groups. Control groups were provided normal instructions and treatment groups were provided instructions integrated with nature of science about chapter 'electromagnet' for 9 class periods. The results of this study were as follow. Both low-cognitive level students and high-cognitive level students in the treatment groups are improved in understanding about nature of science by the explicit instructions about nature of science. Especially, the high-cognitive level students had more improvement than the low-cognitive level students in understanding about nature of science by the explicit instructions about nature of science. There were no significant differences between the test scores of the two groups in the science interest sub-domain of the science-related affective domain. But, there were significant differences between the test scores of the two groups in curiosity and open-mindedness of the scientific attitudes sub-domain of the science-related affective domain.

맞춤형 이용자교육에 관한 대학도서관 사서들의 인식 조사 (Instruction Librarians' Perceptions of the Customized Bibliographic Instructions in Academic Libraries)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 맞춤형 이용자교육을 시행하고 있는 국내 대학도서관의 맞춤형 이용자교육담당 사서들의 인식을 조사하는 것이다. 맞춤형 이용자교육을 제공해 본 경험이 있는 8명의 사서를 대상으로 일차적으로 심층면담하고, 그들의 응답과 문헌조사를 토대로 설문지를 개발하여 해당 교육을 제공해 본 전국 94개 대학도서관의 사서 94명을 대상으로 설문조사하였다. 연구결과, 응답자 대부분이 맞춤형 이용자교육에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하는 가운데, 교육 운영에서 교수진과의 협력을 가장 중요하다고 여기는 것으로 나타났다. 또 맞춤형 교육사서에게 필요한 것으로 석사학위나 주제지식보다 교육에 대한 의지나 봉사정신 등 태도적 측면을 더 중요한 것으로 인식하고 있었으며, 담당인력 부족을 교육 운영의 가장 큰 어려움으로 파악하고 있었다. 본 연구결과는 현장에서 맞춤형 이용자교육을 확대, 제공하는데 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

일반대학생에 의한 자동제세동기 사용 능력 연구 (A Study on college students ability to use automated external defibrillator(AED))

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to compare the ability of college students to use automated external defibrillators (AED) and to provide a basic data for helping laypersons easily apply the AED. Methods: The subjects were randomly assigned to instruction groups. One group was instructed by pictures (group P), one by videos (group M), and one by telephone dispatchers (group D), Without employing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, a single rescuer was asked to apply defibrillation to a mannequin for practice in accordance with the instructions assigned to each group. Results: Regarding the proper pad attachment of the AED, group P followed the instruction $0.31{\pm}0.47times$, group M, $0.81{\pm}0.40times$, and group D $0.69{\pm}0.47times$. Regarding the instruction of taking the hand off a patient for analyzing cardiac rhythm and the instruction of taking the hand off a patient before defibrillation, group P did not follow the instruction; group M followed the instructions $0.50{\pm}0.51times$; and group D followed all instructions at all times. Conclusion: If a dispatcher gives real-time instructions for using an AED to laypersons wtih no experience at the time of AED use, the quality of laypersons' AED use will greatly improve.

SIMT 구조 기반 멀티코어 GPGPU의 통합 ALU 설계 (An implementation of a unified ALU in multi-core GPGPU based on SIMT architecture)

  • 본 논문은 SIMT 구조 기반의 멀티코어 GPGPU의 통합 ALU를 설계하였다. 조건부 분기 명령어, 데이터 이동 명령어, 정수형 산술 연산 명령어, 부동소수점 산술 연산 명령어를 처리할 수 있으며 멀티코어 GPGPU의 다양한 형태의 병렬처리 기능을 지원하기 위하여 다 수의 ALU가 탑재된다. 각 명령어 연산의 처리방식의 공통성을 회로 수준에서 통합하여 최소의 크기로 ALU를 설계하는 것이 본 논문의 주안점이다. 모든 명령어는 테스트 프로그램을 작성하여 실험하였고 CPU로 연산한 결과와 비교하여 본 논문의 ALU가 정상적으로 동작함을 검증하였다. 본 논문에서 설계한 통합 ALU의 크기는 약 2만 게이트이며 최대 동작주파수는 430MHz이다.

고속 FFT 연산을 위한 새로운 DSP 명령어 및 하드웨어 구조 설계 (Design of New DSP Instructions and Their Hardware Architecture for High-Speed FFT)

  • 본 논문은 고속의 FFT 연산을 위한 DSP(Digital Signal Processor) 명령어와 그 하드웨어 구조를 제안한다. 제안된 명령어는 MAC 연산에 의존하는 기존의 DSP 칩과는 다른 새로운 연산 과정을 수행한다. 본 논문은 새로운 명령어의 원활한 수행을 위한 데이터 연산 유닛(Data Processing Unit : DPU)의 하드웨어 구조를 제안한다. 제안된 명령어 및 하드웨어 구조는 기존의 DSP 칩과 비교하여 FFT 연산 속도가 2배 향상되었다. 제안된 구조는 Verilog HDL을 사용하여 설계되었으며 0.35 ${\mu}m$ 표준 셀 라이브러리를 사용하여 수행되었다. 분석 결과 최대 동작 주파수는 약 144.5 MHz이다.

루프를 효과적으로 처리하는 PASC 프로세서 구조 (PASC Processor Architecture for Enhanced Loop Execution)

  • This paper proposes PASC(PArtitioned SCHeduler) processor architecture that equips with a number of functional unit and an individual scheduler paris. Every scheduler of the PASC processor can determine whether a unit instruction can be issued to the associated functional unit or it is to be waited until next cycle caused by a resource collision or data dependencies. In the PASC processor, only the functional unit with a resource collision or data dependencies waits by executing a NOP(No OPeration) instruction and the other functional units execute their own instructions. Therefore we can expect the code compaction effect on the PASC processor. Thus, the last instruction of a loop at certain iteration and the very first instruction of the loop at the next iteration can be scheduled simultaneously if the two instructions do not incur any resource collision or data dependencies. Therefore, we can expect that such two instructions without any resource collision and data dependencies are packed into the same very long instruction word and thus, the two instructions are executed concurrently at run time. As a result, we can shorten execution cycles of a loop comparing to the execution of the loop on a traditional VLIW or SVLIW processor architecture. Simulation result also promises faster execution of loops on a PASC processor architecture than those on a VLIW and SVLIW processor architecture.
