콜로이달 실리카와 실란으로부터 합성된 나노하이브리드 코팅 박막의 특성 (Properties of Nano-Hybrid Coating Films Synthesized from Colloidal Silica-Silane)

  • In recent years the interest in organic/inorganic hybrid materials has increased at a fast rate. Nano organic-inorganic hybrid composites have shown advantages for preparing hard coating layers. Especially, nano hybrid composite has low environmental pollution. It has high transparency, hardness, toughness, thermal dissociation temperature, hydrophobicity by using nano sized inorganic material. There are many ways in which these materials may be synthesized, a typical one being the use of silica and silanes using the sol-gel process. The structure of sol-gel silica evolves as a result of these successive hydrolysis and condensation reactions and the subsequent drying and curing. The sol-gel reactions are catalyzed by acids and produce silica sol solutions. The silica sol grows until they reach a size where a gel transition occurs and a solid-like gel is formed. Colloidal silica(CS)/silane sol solutions were synthesized in variation with parameters such as different acidity and reaction time. In order to understand their physical and chemical properties, sol-gel coating films were fabricated on glass. From all sol-gel solutions, seasoning effect of sol-gel coating layer on glass was observed.

  • 투명한 플라스틱 필름의 표면경도를 향상시키기 위하여 유-무기 하이브리드 코팅 용액을 졸-겔 공정을 이용하여 합성하였다. 무기성분으로 콜로이드 실리카와 유기성분으로 PMMA, 유-무기 성분 간의 결합력을 향상시켜 하이브리드 코팅 층의 특성을 더욱 향상시키기 위하여 실란커플링제로서 vinyl trimethoxy silane (VTMS)과 [3-(metha cryloyloxy)] propyl trimethoxy silane (MAPTMS)를 이용하였고, 알콕시 실란의 종류, 콜로이드 실리카/PMMA의 함량비 등의 반응조건에 따라 콜로이드 실리카/PMMA 졸을 합성하였다. 이러한 졸을 PET 필름에 바코팅시키고, 열경화 시켜 하드코팅막을 제조하여 물리적 화학적 특성을 조사하였다. PMMA에 비해서 하이브리드 형태에서 코팅 막의 연필경도와 기재와의 부착력이 우수하였다.

  • 하층에 유 무기 전도성 물질을 코팅하고 상층은 다관능성 아크릴레이트를 코팅한 다층코팅의 자외선 경화형 시스템을 도입하였다. 이러한 다층코팅은 투명한 PMMA, PC, PET 등의 기재 위에 wet and wet 방식의 코팅 방법을 사용하여 제조하였다. 도막의 표면저항과 물성은 상층 두께의 변화와 상대 습도를 다르게 하여 측정하였다. 상층두께가 $10{\mu}m$ 이하일 때 $10^8{\sim}10^{10}{\Omega}/cm^2$의 표면저항을 나타냈으며 표면 물성은 단층코팅에 비해서 다층코팅이 더 우수하게 나타났다. 그리고 다층코팅에서의 도판트 이동효과는 접촉각과 FT-IR/ATR을 통해 관찰하였다. 하층이 무기 전도성 물질인 경우에는 관찰되지 않는 도판트(DBSA)의 필름-기재 계면에서 필름-공기 계면 쪽으로 이행되는 거동이 유기전도성 물질인 경우에는 관찰되었다.

  • 광 변색 물질로 1,2-bis(2,4-dimethyl-5-phenyl-3-thienyl)-3,3,4,4,5,5-hexafluoro-1-cyclopentene(BTHFC)를 사용하는 유-무기 혼성 코팅막이 금속 알콕사이드인 tetramethoxysilane(TMOS), 다양한 실란 커플링제, 그리고 용매와 같은 다양한 반응 조건하에서 제조되었다. 제조된 코팅 막 중에서 상대적으로 비극성인 실린 커플링제를 사용한 경우, 광 변색 유기물인 BTHFC는 우수한 흡광도 및 소색속도를 나타내었다. 더욱이 용매 THF 존재 하에서 TMOS와 methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(MPTMS)의 몰 비가 1:1로 하여 제조되었을 때 흡광도와 소색속도는 크고 빠른 것을 알 수 있었다. 연필강도는 TMOS의 함량이 증가할수록 증가한 반면, 투과도는 상대적으로 감소하였다.

평판 유리로 봉인된 다층 무기 박막을 갖는 OLED 봉지 방법 (Encapsulation Method of OLED with Inorganic Multi-layered Thin Films Sealed with Flat Glass)

  • To study encapsulation method for large-area organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), red emitting OLEDs were fabricated, on which LiF and Al were deposited as inorganic protective films. And then the OLED was attached to flat glass by printing method using epoxy. In case of direct coating of epoxy onto OLED by printing method, luminance and current efficiency were remarkably decreased because of the damage to the OLED by epoxy. In case of depositing LiF and Al as inorganic protective films and then coating of epoxy onto OLED, luminance and current efficiency were not changed. OLED lifetime was more increased through inorganic protective films between OLED and flat glass than that without any encapsulation (8.8 h), i.e., 47 (LiF/Al/epoxy/glass), 62 (LiF/Al/LiF/epoxy/glass), and 84 h (LiF/Al/Al/epoxy/glass). The characteristics of OLED encapsulated with inorganic protective films (attached to flat glass) showed the possibility of application of protective films.

Temperature on structural steelworks insulated by inorganic intumescent coating

  • Predicting the fire resistance of structures has been significantly advanced by full scale fire tests in conjunction with improved understanding of compartmental fire. Despite the progress, application of insulation is still required to parts of structural steelwork to achieve over 60 minutes of fire rating. It is now recognised that uncertainties on insulation properties hinder adaptation of performance based designs for different types of structures. Intumescent coating has recently appeared to be one of most popular insulation types for steel structures, but its design method remains to be confirmed by empirical data, as technical difficulties on the determination of the material properties at elevated temperatures exist. These need to take into account of further physiochemical transitions such as moving boundary and endothermic reaction. The impetus for this research is to investigate the applicability of the conventional differential equation solution which examines the temperature rise on coated steel members by an inorganic intumescent coating, provided that the temperature-dependent thermal/mechanical insulation properties are experimentally defined in lab scale tests.

  • Chloride diffusion effect of cement paste, freezing and thawing test, carbonation of concrete specimen were carried out using inorganic coating material. According to the chloride ions diffusion test, it is elucidated that permeability and diffusion coefficient of Cl ̄ ions and apparent coefficient of coated cement paste is smaller than plain cement paste. A durability of coated concrete specimen was enhanced by the experiment result of concrete carbonation and freezing thawing test.

투명 유-무기 하이브리드 하드코팅 필름 제조 및 SiO2 또는 ZrO2함량에 따른 필름의 물성 (Preparation of Transparent Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Hard Coating Films and Physical Properties by the Content of SiO2 or ZrO2 in Their Films)

  • Transparent organic-inorganic hybrid hard coating films were prepared by the addition of $SiO_2$ or $ZrO_2$, as an inorganic filler to improve the hardness property, filler was highly dispersed in the acrylic resin. To improve the compatibility in the acrylic resin, $SiO_2$ or $ZrO_2$ is surface-modified using various silanes with variation of the modification time and silane content. Depending on the content and kind of the modified inorganic oxide, transparent modified inorganic sols were formulated in acryl resin. Then, the sols were bar coated and cured on PET films to investigate the optical and mechanical properties. The optimized film, which has a modified $ZrO_2$ content of 4 wt% markedly improved in terms of the hardness, haze, and transparency as compared to neat acrylate resin and acrylate resin containing modified $SiO_2$ content of 8 wt%. Meanwhile, the low transparency and high haze of these films slowly appeared at $SiO_2$ content above 10 wt% and $ZrO_2$ content of 5 wt%, but the hardness values were maintained at 2H and 3H, respectively, in comparison with the HB of neat acrylate resin.

유/무기 하이브리드 코팅액에 의한 냉간압연강판의 열처리 온도에 따른 내식특성 (Corrosion Resistance of Cold Rolled Steel coated Organic/inorganic Hybrid Coating Solution According to Heat Treatment Temperature)

  • The demand for cold rolled steel (CR) for structural members is gradually increasing. If no surface treatment (coating for corrosion resistance) for CR is conducted, its use is very limited because CR is vulnerable to corrosion. Therefore, we need to develop a coating solution to provide high corrosion resistance for CR. In this study, an organic/inorganic coating solution with Si and Ti (Si polysilicate 7 wt.% + Urethane 13 wt.% + Ti amorphous 0.5 wt.%; LR-0727(1)) was used to evaluate the corrosion resistance of CR under a salt spray test. The specimens with the LR-0727(1) coating were heat treated in a drying oven at $120{\sim}210^{\circ}C$for 5 min. The corrosion resistance was investigated using a salt spray test of 7 h. In addition, an adhesive test was conducted. Rust showed under a heat treatment of $150^{\circ}C$, but no vestiges were found over $160^{\circ}C$. The specimens with heat treatment at $160^{\circ}C$ or more did not experience delamination. From these results, it is considered that the temperature limit for optimum heat treatment is $160^{\circ}C$ considering energy efficiency.

무기안료를 이용한 인공진주 코팅 및 제조 (Preparation and Coating of Artificial Pearl using Inorganic Pigment)

  • 인류는 아름다움을 추구하는 경향이 있으며, 진주는 부와 신분의 상징으로 수 천년 동안 많은 사람들의 사랑을 받아 왔다. 현재의 인조진주는 밝은 색감을 갖고 코팅공정이 쉬운 유기색소를 이용하였으나, 낮은 내후성 및 내구성과 천연진주의 고급스러운 광택 표현의 어려움으로 인해 새로운 코팅기술이 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구는 코팅 결합제로 니트로셀룰로오스와 우레탄을 이용하였고, 색감을 표현하기 위하여 무기 펄 안료를 사용하였다. 니트로셀룰로오스와 용매의 비, 우레탄과 경화제의 비, 펄의 첨가량, 코팅 횟수, 건조 온도 등의 실험변수를 조절하여 실험을 진행하였다. 코팅 된 인조진주는 색차계, 자외선, 촉진내후성 등의 특성을 분석하였고, 우레탄을 이용한 경우 내약품성 및 내후성이 니트로셀룰로오스 보다 뛰어난 것을 확인하였다.
