In this paper, we introduce and study an iterative technique for solving quasimonotone split variational inequality problems and fixed point problem in the framework of real Hilbert spaces. Our proposed iterative technique is self adaptive, and easy to implement. We establish that the proposed iterative technique converges strongly to a minimum-norm solution of the problem and give some numerical illustrations in comparison with other methods in the literature to support our strong convergence result.

Objectives: This study aimed to explore the health inequality discourse in the Korean press by analyzing newspaper articles using a relatively new content analysis technique. Methods: This study used the search term "health inequality" to collect articles containing that term that were published between 2000 and 2018. The collected articles went through pre-processing and topic modeling, and the contents and temporal trends of the extracted topics were analyzed. Results: A total of 1038 articles were identified, and 5 topics were extracted. As the number of studies on health inequality has increased over the past 2 decades, so too has the number of news articles regarding health inequality. The extracted topics were public health policies, social inequalities in health, inequality as a social problem, healthcare policies, and regional health gaps. The total number of occurrences of each topic increased every year, and the trend observed for each theme was influenced by events related to its contents, such as elections. Finally, the frequency of appearance of each topic differed depending on the type of news source. Conclusions: The results of this study can be used as preliminary data for future attempts to address health inequality in Korea. To make addressing health inequality part of the public agenda, the media's perspective and discourse regarding health inequality should be monitored to facilitate further strategic action.

In this paper, we introduce and study a new class of strongly nonlinear variational-like inequalities. Under suitable conditions, we prove the existence of solutions for the class of strongly nonlinear variational- like inequalities. By making use of the auxiliary principle technique, we suggest an iterative algorithm for the strongly nonlinear variational-like inequality and give the convergence criteria of the sequences generated by the iterative algorithm.

In this paper, some iterative methods are used to discuss the behavior of general mixed-harmonic variational inequalities. We employ the auxiliary principle technique and g-strongly harmonic monotonicity of the operator to obtain results on the existence of solutions to a generalized class of mixed harmonic variational inequality.

Magnetic bearing system is frequently used for high-speed rotating machines because of its frictionless property. But the magnetic bearing system needs feedback controller for stabilization. This paper presents a robust controller design by using linear matrix inequality for magnetic bearing system which shows the control performance and robust stability under the physical parameter perturbations. To the end, the validity of the designed controller is investigated through computer simulation.

We show an exponential inequality for negatively associated and strictly stationary random variables replacing an uniform boundedness assumption by the existence of Laplace transforms. To obtain this result we use a truncation technique together with a block decomposition of the sums. We also identify a convergence rate for the strong law of large number.

In this paper, we introduce a new generalized nonlinear quasivariational inequality and establish its equivalence with a xed point problem by using the resolvent operator technique. Utilizing this equivalence, we suggest two iterative schemes, prove two existence theorems of solutions for the generalized nonlinear quasivariational inequality involving generalized cocoercive mapping and establish some convergence results of the sequences generated by the algorithms. Our results include several previously known results as special cases.

In this paper, we introduce a new class of reciprocal convex set which is called as relative reciprocal convex set. We establish a necessary and sufficient condition for the minimum of the differentiable relative reciprocal convex function. This condition can be viewed as a new class of variational inequality which is called relative reciprocal variational inequality. Using the auxiliary principle technique we discuss the existence criteria for the solution of relative reciprocal variational inequality. Some special cases which are naturally included in our main results are also discussed.

Globalization is an economic process responsible for the increase of interdependence of world economies. It enhances the mobility of national resources internationally via the integration of markets, trade and investments with minimal barriers to slow the flow of products and services. Although globalization has some positive impacts on the economy, it is said to be a factor in the decline of income inequality of the participating countries. However, the results of previous studies on the relationship between globalization and income inequality are inconclusive. This suggests that there are other factors influencing the relationship between the two variables. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of intelligence (IQ) in the globalization-income inequality relationship. This study employs the threshold regression technique and cross-nation observations from 117 sample nations for the period 1980-2016. The results show that the impact of globalization on income inequality in a nation relies on its IQ level. The results imply that economic globalization has a negative impact on income inequality in nations with lower IQ levels. It widens the gap between the poor and rich. While in nations with higher IQ levels, it seems to not have any significant impact on income distribution.
